    A Nibbi 26mm carburetor is too big for a 125cc engine. You'll find that if you purchase a 24 or a 22mm Nibbi carburetor, it'll run a lot better, and will be easier to tune. (I work at a shop)

      I'm gonna buy the 22mm carb and keep it in order. Dunno how much more power u can get if 22mm is the main inlet diameter. But ima put that one on soon once amazon has one in stock. Ur adaptation looks really nice.
      My stock ssr 125cc carb runs like crap. I have to leave choke on half way after already cleaning it. Ima upgrade cuz performance is performance and stock sucks haha

    If anything it looks dang good. Once it’s dialed in it’s gotta run better, bigger should be more power you’d think. Maybe the dirt in your original carb is the reason it was cutting out. I didn’t hit dirt on mine for two weeks and there was a few pieces in there, definitely gotta keep those cleaners lubed up.
    Thank you for the update and going through all the frustration and posting for us!!

    • @throttlefamily4655

      The dirt was only on the filter side of the carb. It wasn’t too much bet definitely made me think I should be cleaning our air filters ever ride or every other ride. I was surprised that it still seemed it was starving for fuel I am going to try and get bigger jets today and then test it out some more.

    I went with the Nibbi PE28 for my SSR 125. I also bought their 33mm intake adapter so didn’t have to cut anything. Which made it a true plug n play. All I had to do was adjust the idle out of the box. This carb rips and is a huge difference from the oem carb. I live down the hill from you in Rancho and minutes from where you bought your bikes. I can’t wait for the parks to open back up.

    Hey mate I think it’s too rich that’s why it’s bogging. Pull out the plug and see what colour it is. If it’s black it’s getting to much fuel and if it’s too light it’s not getting enough. You wanna get it to a burnt marshmallow colour.

    • @throttlefamily4655
      @throttlefamily4655  4 года назад +3

      Levi Karantonis I just went today and bought a 48 pilot instead of the 40 that was in it and it doesn’t bog anymore on the bottom end but it is fuel cutting on the top end so I need to get a bigger jet. That’s what I was thinking after I uploaded the video but my buddy that works at our local shop said because it’s a 26mm not a 22 like stock it needs to have bigger jets to accommodate for the larger area of air. Unfortunately they said I couldn’t get a main jet from them so I ordered some online and it says it will be here on the 22nd so until then I am going to have to hold off on the cheap vs expensive review so that way I can give a honest opinion on which carb I think is better.

    Bogs out as you pull throttle because it is running lean! Replace the MAIN jet (BIG JET) with a size up or two or keep going up till it sounds right. The Pilot jet (SMALL JET) sounded fine to me although my speakers suck so not much difference before and after. Main jet is from idle to half throttle and Pilot jet is from half throttle to full throttle!

  • @rasmus1600
    @rasmus1600 2 года назад

    A bit late, but that chain is really loose. Also when adjusting a carburetor, the mainjet determines how much fuel/air ratio the engine runs at, the needle above the mainjet determines the fuel/air ratio at certain throttle positions. When the clip is at the lowest point on the needle (pointy end facing down) you get more fuel in the fuel/air ratio at wide open throttle, when the clip is at the highest point, you don't get that much more fuel at wide open throttle. You'll feel it when the engine is warm and you open up the throttle, if it feels like the engine doesn't rev up as much at it should, then it's most likely the needle that needs to be adjusted.

    Hey, nice video. What was wrong with the carb on the bike?
    Any new carb, don't assume because it's new and fresh out of the box that there won't be any dirt or metal chips, filings etc left in there from the factory metalwork production!
    Give the carb at least a good blast out with compressed air before attaching to the bike.
    Old school dudes always break down new carbs, often cleaning them fully out with carb cleaner or even ultrasonic cleaning to be certain!

    I put it on my 140cc and just had to adjust the air screw. I had a mikuni 24 & 26 previously. The nibbi is insane how much power it added. Definitely worth it! So smooth through the entire powerband. It feels like there's so much torque. It's pretty satisfying. It did way more than a z40 cam and anything else I upgraded. I was pretty surprised the jets it came with worked. I compared it to my vm26 jetting and it was very very close the main jet was 105 vs 110. I spent months trying to get the vm26 jetting right and it was mighty close but just never felt good enough.

It's a 26mm which according to Nibbis specs it says 26mm is for 150cc-200cc. While 24mm is 125cc to 150cc. Perhaps from my larger z40 cam it's happy with the larger amount of air from the 26mm even though I'm only 140cc. If you're 148cc then 26mm is the obvious choice. Do you have a larger cam? I'd definitely recommend one if you jumped to 150cc. They're like 5$ :p super easy to put in.

Is let it warm up for like 10 mins mess with your idle and mess either the mix screw. But also u change pipes u have more going out u do need a bigger jet. I have a chance to get a 2019 SSR 125 with a big bore on it the only problem is the carburetor has a line from it that drips gasoline out of the carburetor I'm assuming it's for riding wheelies and things like that but it gets gas all over the place what would be the best way to fix that situation buy a new carburetor that's made for it should be at a tilt and to be upright please let me know in the comments I am new to these SSRS especially the 125 the one I'm looking at it clocks at around 65 mph with a big bore kit on it the opportunity to buy that or a 250 not sure what the 250 is yet so 250cc something but I do know for sure I've ridden the SSR 2019 with the big bore and that thing will willy as soon as you give it gas. I don't know if other 125s are like that it's a 125 semi for $7 00 is that a good deal or is that a great deal and both of them he wants close to I think 15 which I know if I gave him 11 he would take it but right now all I have is the 9 00 and I'm looking for a 250 dirt bike ender Enduro super Moto MX I just want a bike that is street legal has the epi carb if that's pronounced right anybody selling or anything like that let me know

    • @throttlefamily4655
      @throttlefamily4655  3 года назад

      A lot of times it is just the screw on the side by the tube that is loose. Also you may want to check the level on the float it may be too high allowing gas to go buy but hey you could buy this bike get started save more money and sell later if you want all up to you buy I love my ssr125 too but I also have big bikes as well
