    Every truck I’ve ever owned has that same exact design. And what I’ve always done is put the cable over the tailgate lock bolt. Never needed to remove the latch and relatch to that bolt

    The tailgate comes up like that so you can haul 4x8 sheets of plywood. The plywood doesn’t fit in between the wheel wells so it has to sit on top of them. The tailgate supports the sheet. There are notches in the sides of the bed to put additional supports or dividers.

    My 2025 Pro 4X has the same setup, thanks for the tip!

    Thank you for making this video. My 07 Colorado has this tailgate feature and I use it a lot for 4x8 plywood. Really happy the frontier has this. That finalized my decision to get a frontier.

    Better make sure to reposition the cable if you attach it to those top fittings. Those top fitting go into the lock mechanism. If you slam the gate closed with those cable connected to the top....boom might just wreck the lock mechansm

    YES a good Nissan feature that's on my 2919 PRO4X. I don't know how long they've been using it. I was fortunate to get a King Cab the last year they made that model in a PRO4X, so I have a 6' bed too

    Haha i hauled 16ft plywood sheets in my superduty box. A little suspect with half box full. Lot of bounce. You can always get a tailgate extender that attaches to your tow hook, but that's for the weekend warriors 😂😂

      I don't think I'd haul to many sheets in this thing. It might take off like a kite 😂

    Wow thanks for this. It's crazy.. This is one of the things I am deciding on as a feature with my next purchase. The colorado has a feature to wrap the cable. This may very well lead me to the Frontier.. Zy only hang up now is what engine they will put in in 2025

    Does this make the tailgate level with the tops of the wheel jumps in the box?

    • @CanadianCruisin

      I think it sits slightly higher still but I'd have to look to make sure

    Have you never owned a truck? All trucks do that. My 94 Ford Ranger did that.

    • @CanadianCruisin
      @CanadianCruisin  2 месяца назад +1

      @scb0421 they definitely do not all have this feature. It's becoming more common but you may want to go and check out a few models instead of just your Ford lol

    Hidden feature? We all use to do this since the 70s, I thought this was common knowledge. 🤔

    What a waste of time by the time!! 😂 by the time you switch the cable position you could just starp your load down correctly and safely

      What exactly is a real truck? If you have a titan or another full size truck, there’s always going to be a bigger truck, is anything smaller than a 18 wheeler not a real truck?
