I like to Cut it 60blk/40acrysol 4 to 5 wipes at home and wipe and then let them sit for a few weeks. Other wise it likes to look like shellac and just picks up the dirt when wiped at full strength. Also make sure to shake that can well before using it since it likes to separate.
This last Sunday I preped a set of tires with black sand with 3 coats. I can't race the following saterday like I thought. What do I do this coming Sunday? 1 more coat, 3 more coats?
When I am prepping Black Sand, I dont seem to have trouble with it drying, seems like the wet sheen goes off in about 5-10 minutes in 85deg, shade. Am i missing something, or should I still be cutting with Acrosol?
The main component in BS takes time to take effect. Ideally 7 days dry time for the best results. Acysol helps that process happen at track. But if it’s working for you by all means use it that way.
@@kart6t3_ben i see so its not so much a drying thing as seeing the tires go from wet at application to dry a few minutes later. Its more of a cure time thing.
Ben I use the new trac tac quick dry it's clear and really works better than black sand. It doesn't coagulate like black sand I split black and quick dry
Ben, ive been using Black Sand and SST for a few weeks. Can yoi please recommend a tire program for us? We usually run our maxxis tires around 50 on the duro. Thanks for your help!
I would personally treat my tires down to the desired duro with SST then use Balck sand as a every week prep because it doesn’t drop duro much/at all. 2/3 coats of straight black sand the weekend prior to a race, then BlackSand 50/50 with acrysol or Naptha vm&p at track as a ore race wipe. Hope that helps?
Thanx man. I'm using this for next weekend on the big 3/8 mile track.
Good luck! Hope some of that helped.
I used to use black sand and red btgp religiously until I came upon the ls and secret prep combo I run now 😊
Aw yeh.
@kart6t3_ben found black sand to be a great prep for low bite tracks like penns creek raceway park especially

I’d just freshen up with one or two. Black sand does better the longer it’s allowed to penetrate the tread.

@@johnwilliams727 yes sir.
@@johnwilliams727 also if you over load the tire with BS it will get a shine to it. Too much won’t penetrate. Just an fyi.
I use black sand down south works great for a dry sandy track
Comes in handy for sure.
Hummmmm, from East TN to NY...... works the same. Great video
Yup yup.
I use it a lot at the track I race at. Works pretty good if you can do like you said and give it time during the week to soak in.
Some people miss that point when using it straight. Cutting it helps big also reduces the effects.

I really wanna get some of that.

What’s the Best Prep for Capital city in Ashland Virginia?
I’ve literally been there once but I’d guess Black Sand to be a good choice. Seemed harder and fast to me back then.
Talk to Kyle Ezzel he’s the guy for capital city. He’s a great guy he will hook you up.
We use the crap out of Black Sand in Florida.
Oh yeh. Perfect for FL.
