I just bought and installed the Woodcraft universal 2" rise clip ons for my Ninja 400. They move the bars slightly more forward and 1/2" lower and you can also lower them even more with out the clearance issue with the triple tree. Plenty of clearance with the stock fairings also
Just installed these on a 2021 z400. The clutch hits the flash to pass button lol! I still like them, i just flash to clutch now! I like, & learn alot from your channel. Thanku
You can make some adjustments to make that stop. Another thing you can do is to put some stick on wheel weights on the steering stops of the lower triple. From the factory this bike has a very long bar sweep. - Van
That will be very different from rider to rider as we are all built differently. This kit is really improves the ergos for the hand controls on the Ninja 400. Hard to get into proper body position with the OEM clip ons. - Van

After downloading the original clip on, how much space is left to mount the low sports clip ons at the top and not at the bottom of the shelf? Is it enough not to lower the shelf?
These Woodcraft clip ons are designed to work with the OEM or race bodywork without any trimming. They put the bars in a lower, more ergonomic position than the OEM. - Van
With these can i set them to where the stock bars are? height and angle, and then make small changes until they feel comfortable . or will they be lower than stock? they look fairly close when positioned against the bottom of the triple . thanks
These will be slightly lower than the OEM setup is. You are able to adjust the angle in relation to the top clamp but you will not be able to raise them at all. Lowering them would be possible but it would require bodywork modification. - Van
I am trying to get a hold of these clip ons by woodcraft, they have two options available, do you recommend the frond mount or side mounted version? And what’s the difference? I’m trying to get a more sporty ergonomic, but not full blown, as it is my daily. What do you recommend?

Hi Van! I would like to know if this modification increases the vibration in the handlebars. If so, what would be the solution to minimize that vibration. Would a steering damper be ideal?
Removing the OEM clip ons and bar ends does increase the vibration a little bit. If you want to reduce that affect you can install either of the bar ends noted below: Driven Gravity Bar Ends www.sportbiketrackgear.com/driven-gravity-bar-ends/ Driven SS Bar End Weights www.sportbiketrackgear.com/driven-ss-bar-end-weights/ Woodcraft Bar End Weighted Slider Assembly Set www.sportbiketrackgear.com/woodcraft-bar-end-weighted-slider-assembly-set/
This is as low as you can go without having to modify the bodywork. If you want lower and are open to trimming the bodywork (best with race bodywork) take a look at the set in this link: Woodcraft Kawasaki Ninja 400 18-23 Race Only Clip-on Set www.sportbiketrackgear.com/woodcraft-kawasaki-ninja-400-18-21-race-only-clip-on-set/
These will get the rider into a more ergonomic position for performance riding. They also allow for more adjustment and make replacing a damaged bar much easier. - Van
Thank you for watching. I reused the OEM switch pods on the Ninja 400 which have a locator pin molded into the housing that needs to have a hole in the bar to line up with. This prevents the switch pod from rotating on the bar, super important on the throttle side. - Van
The clip ons we installed have the standard length bars. If you want to run the Woodcraft lever guards you would go with the longer bars. Here is a link to the clip ons on our site: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/woodcraft-kawasaki-ninja-400-2018-clip-on-riser-assembly-w-bars/ - Van
Sportbike Track Gear Ahh thank you for letting me know. I’m not sure if I should get these clip-ons because I just received the Driven Halo Mirrors I ordered from STG and I’ve had some problems with them. I have a Ninja 400 and I used the reducer listed on the STG website, but the reducer goes too far into the stock clip-ons where there aren’t any threads. So the reducers were kind of a waste and I can’t get the mirrors on. I like the mirrors, so I want to keep them but I have to figure out how to get them on.
I got a 23 ninja 400, got the works , Norton ecu flash, velocity stacks, par valve block plate, akropovic full system exhaust, k&n oil filter am DNA air filter with air box mods. The power increase is insane. So much more torque an power. I also put 120/70/17 on front an 160's on the rear. The R3 has nothing on this bike, . Got the woodcraft rear sets an these clipons too. Best bike in its class 4 sure.
So I am looking at a used bike that has these. I do not want to bend down and would prefer to have them at stock height and even slightly higher. Can these risers be moved so they are taller like stock?
You could install a set of taller riser clip ons but will most likely encounter some clearance issues if you try to go higher than the OEM position. - Van
My palms hurt after awhile from the stock riser - I believe that I'd like the handlebars more "motor-scooter", ordinary bicycle-like, it appears that this install doesn't allow one to level the handlebars more - what do you suggest, please?
These bars are pretty high from the factory. If you find your hands hurting after riding this bike I feel like you need to work on relaxing your grip while riding. The harder you squeeze the more you are fighting the bike. - Van
I was wondering if this would make the bike feel a little less cramped? I’m 6’2” and a skinny 210lbs. 32-33” inseam and longish arms. Not sure if I would benefit from this upgrade or just need a bigger bike. 😂

How much "lower" versus the OEM one can you really be at the same angle without interference with oem body? Asking because from video it seem to be only like 3/4" max... EDIT: I saw lower in comments, 1/2". If we play with angle more aggressive, will i have some place to lower at least 1 inch? Seem the first interference from video is close to "console".
If you are running the OEM bodywork you can only go so low before there is contact. Remember you can always slide these clip on cuffs down the for tube a bit to get them to the lowest possible point before contacting the bodywork. - Van

If you want to install a set of clip ons on the Ninja 400 and do not want to make any changes or modifications to the bodywork then you need to install this set of Woodcraft clip ons. This set is designed to be used with the 400 without making any changes. - Van
Thanks for this video. So apparently the original wiring is long enough to not be changed ? Can you pls tell me if there is an after market kit for lowering the footpegs for this bike ?
Is it possible to install these above the triple tree to raise the handle bars instead of lower them? My N400 is lowered so there's a little more room.
You will need to make sure you have enough length with the throttle cables, clutch cable and wiring harnesses to all for the bars being raised. I think there is enough to do this on the Ninja 400. - Van
Yes you can remove the plastic bar end from the Woodcraft clip on bars. You can use a pair of pliers and grab the end then rotate it while pulling outward. - Van
The bars being a little lower will help you stretch out a bit. The clip ons are also adjustable allowing you to change the angle of the bars pushing them out a bit which will also add a little more reach to the bars for you. - Van
Is this the lowest you can go with the stock bodywork? Will the 1.5 riser clipins will go lower? I am looking to make my ninja 400 more track built and still getting on the street with him, so i would like the lowest bars and keeping the stock body work as well. So are The 2.5 risers are my best option? Sry for bad english lol😭😂
We still have these on our Ninja 400 which is track only at this point. You could lower them a little bit but the reality is the bodywork is in the way. Another way to get into a more ergonomic position is to raise the seat by installing the Armour Bodies Seat Pan for the Ninja 400. Here is a link to that on our site: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/armour-bodies-kawasaki-ninja-400-2018-pro-series-superbike-seat-base/ - Van
Woodcraft offers a line of bar ends to work with their clip ons. Here is a link to them on our site: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/woodcraft/?_bc_fsnf=1&Product=Bar+Ends - Van
No I do not think that would work out. Not 100% sure to be honest. We will be attempting an install with a standard set of clip ons down the road to see if they will fit. I expect there will be some clearance issues. - Van
Aftermarket clip ons will not accept the OEM bar ends. We typically will not run anything but the plastic bar ends that come on the hollow bars. While there will be a little more vibration it has never really been an issue as we are on track for 20-45 minutes at a time. - Van
Good question for sure. We have had the R3 longer and ridden it more so the comfort level is much higher with it than the Ninja at this point. The biggest difference between them is the 400 has more power. If that is important to you buy the Ninja. To be fair you will love either one. - Van
Hi Mr. Van.I he learned a lot from you videos.Your work is. Lean and precise.Explanitions are very clear.do you know the exact measurement from the bar end to the hole you drilled?
This clip on set was designed specifically for the Ninja 400. We have ridden the bike with them installed and the position is very good. Here is a link to them on our site: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/woodcraft-kawasaki-ninja-400-2018-clip-on-riser-assembly-w-bars/ - Van
No, installing these clip ons does not change the ground clearance, they lower the position of the handlebars putting them in a more aggressive position. - Van
Oh thank you so much.. but how do i get them more relaxed riding position.. can these clipon do it by just replacing the stock ones.. i believe these have risers..!
Important to remember you can lower these approximately 1/2" from where they sit once the install was done. This kit was designed to work with the bodywork (race and street) and the clearance available. You could try to install a set of standard (zero rise) clip ons under the top triple and work out the clearance issues if you need the bars lower. - Van

Woodcraft is working on an adapter plate for this bike now, it is not done just yet. On the phone with them now and they expect to see this released in approx 2 - 3 months. If you are building a race bike you could use some riser clip ons and would have to trim the bodywork. I would ride the OEM and wait for the new parts to drop. - Van
I do not have a measurement comparing OEM to the new position. I would say when you have the Woodcraft cuffs all the way up the drop is a little over an inch, you can lower them a bit or replace the riser brackets if you want them lower. This kit is designed to get them as low as possible with the OEM bodywork still on the bike. - Van
Just got the ninja 400. I been watching all your videos and your my favorite RUclipsr!I'm going to drop alot of money into my 400. I'm going to order off your website and try to replicate your build. What can I do to make it faster? Tune? Engine work? I'm new to motorcycles. Is it the same as a car where you can change cams and all that? Thanks. Keep up the great videos!
Thank you for watching and the kind words! If you are new to the bike I would hold off on any motor work to make it faster. Start with a full exhaust system and a fuel controller or ecu flash. You can also make gearing changes to get it to come off a corner a little quicker. - Van
Sorry, we do not have plans to do a project with this bike. End of the day that install would be very similar to the one we show you on the Ninja 400. - Van
Looking for a quick-fix to effectively RAISE the handlebar of my 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 400 ABS KRT Edition - any suggestions/sources would be greatly appreciated. Liked and subbed.
I am surprised you would want to raise them, most riders are lowering them on the 400. You could install a set of Woodcraft riser clip ons to raise the bars a bit. The only way to know how far you can raise them with the OEM cables and such is to loosen the OEM clip ons and re position them a bit (do not ride like this) to determine who far you can go before you run out of cable or hit the fairings. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear Thanks for the reply. Looking to raise the bar so that there is less downward pressure on them, which hurts the hands after awhile. At 73 years of age I want not only to look good on a very stylish bike, I also want to feel good.

Do these fit a 2023 ninja 400?
Yes these will fit the 2023 Ninja 400 as well. - Van
Do you put the oem bar ends back on? Or is vibration not an issue?
Aftermarket clip ons will not accept the OEM bar ends. We typically will not run anything but the plastic bar ends that come on the hollow bars. While there will be a little more vibration it has never really been an issue as we are on track for 20-45 minutes at a time. - Van
Do you have to bleed the brakes after mate?
No need to bleed the brakes after installing a set of clip ons on the Ninja. - Van
good vid a usual
Thank you for watching! - Van
so this rises or lewers the handlebar?
This is going to lower the bars and get the rider in a more athletic position. - Van
Sir which is the best bike, yamaha R3 or that kawasaki ninja 400? coz I'm planning to buy one.. thanks!
Good question for sure. We have had the R3 longer and ridden it more so the comfort level is much higher with it than the Ninja at this point. The biggest difference between them is the 400 has more power. If that is important to you buy the Ninja. To be fair you will love either one. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear thank you sir
👍
Hi Mr. Van.I he learned a lot from you videos.Your work is. Lean and precise.Explanitions are very clear.do you know the exact measurement from the bar end to the hole you drilled?
would adding these give a more upright position for the rider?
No these would actually lower the bars as compared to the OEM position. - Van
Was that a 3/32 drill bit you used?
I do not remember but think that it was larger than 3/32. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear all good found it was a 6ml drill bit, love the videos keep it up!
Love your vids brother! I have a question for ya tho, are the ends of the bars open or threaded?
The Woodcraft Clip On Tubes are hollow. They come with a delrin plastic plug that can be removed if you need to do so. Thanks for watching! - Van
Nice video keep safe...
Thank you for watching! - Van
Do most of the mods you did on the 19’ apply to 2020 abs? Love the content. Placed a $268 order w/ you guys a few days ago. 👍🏽
There is no difference between the ninja 400 models as far as I know. 2018 to 2021 are all compatible.
What size mm do I need for the ninja 400? And I see there’s 1.5” to 3” what would I need?
This clip on set was designed specifically for the Ninja 400. We have ridden the bike with them installed and the position is very good. Here is a link to them on our site: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/woodcraft-kawasaki-ninja-400-2018-clip-on-riser-assembly-w-bars/ - Van
Does this mod.. reduces the ground clearance...
What's the size of the riser?
Are these the most aggressive clip ins available?
Important to remember you can lower these approximately 1/2" from where they sit once the install was done. This kit was designed to work with the bodywork (race and street) and the clearance available. You could try to install a set of standard (zero rise) clip ons under the top triple and work out the clearance issues if you need the bars lower. - Van
Cómo podría hacerlo en la kawasaki Ninja 650 2019??
Sorry there is not a direct fit set of clip ons for that bike at this time. I hear this bike is a little more difficult to complete the install. - Van
Woodcraft makes a set specifically for the 2017-2019 Ninja 650 now.
Are you shipping these to the Eu? I'd like to have one for my ninja 400
Yes we ship internationally using USPS or DHL. The site will quote the available shipping options once you have entered all your data on the site. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear Thank you sir! I'll surely be ordering from you guys. Keep up the good work!
is there something like this available for the 2017 ninja 650?
Woodcraft is working on an adapter plate for this bike now, it is not done just yet. On the phone with them now and they expect to see this released in approx 2 - 3 months. If you are building a race bike you could use some riser clip ons and would have to trim the bodywork. I would ride the OEM and wait for the new parts to drop. - Van
how much lower do I get with this clip on?
I do not have a measurement comparing OEM to the new position. I would say when you have the Woodcraft cuffs all the way up the drop is a little over an inch, you can lower them a bit or replace the riser brackets if you want them lower. This kit is designed to get them as low as possible with the OEM bodywork still on the bike. - Van
Can I order this from europe? Or is it just for US?
Hello mr. Van i was thinking of getting some of these on my 2016 r6. What measurement do you prefer to level the handle bars with the triple clamp?
I would use standard 3 piece clip ons on the R6. www.sportbiketrackgear.com/woodcraft-3-piece-split-clip-ons/
You need 50mm for that bike.
- Van
Lol dude learn how to ride first before you “makE iT FaSt!!”
@@mvmedved I already modded the bike. It's more faster now. I had a shop do engine work and I got it tuned. Very fun bike
@@sportbiketrackgear could you please expand on the gearing change?
Does it fit for yamaha r15 v3 to raise the height of the handle bar, and if yes how to purchase

Dam you make some awesome videos
Thank you for watching! - Van
can you install clip ons riser for ninja 650 2018?
Sorry, we do not have plans to do a project with this bike. End of the day that install would be very similar to the one we show you on the Ninja 400. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear Yeah! But I'm so interested in your video, so I hope you will have plans to do project with this bike. Thank you so much
Good video, I wish you would do the same with the OEM stock handlebars
You cant lol
- Van
@@sportbiketrackgear
Thanks for the reply. Looking to raise the bar so that there is less downward pressure on them, which hurts the hands after awhile.
At 73 years of age I want not only to look good on a very stylish bike, I also want to feel good.
sir how to order?
www.sportbiketrackgear.com/woodcraft-kawasaki-ninja-400-2018-clip-on-riser-assembly-w-bars/ Use this link and place the order on our site. We ship internationally using USPS and DHL. - Van
sir what size is the clip on?
Click on the link it contains all of the relevant specs. Woodcraft designed these clip ons specifically for the Ninja 400, fit great and work with both street and race bodywork. - Brian Van
Hi! This kit it´s valid for Ninja 650 2019 ?
No it is not. I called Woodcraft and unfortunately they do not have a real good clip on solution for this model. I wish I had better news. This may require a little experimentation. - Van
The Woodcraft kit is now available. I just installed it on my 2017 Ninja 650.
Damn you are good......
Where to purchase this please help me
Here is a link the Woodcraft Ninja 400 Clip Ons on our site: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/woodcraft-kawasaki-ninja-400-2018-clip-on-riser-assembly-w-bars/
What a waist of time and money for one inch
Makes all the difference in the world on the track. We also run the Armour Bodies Superbike Seat Pan on our Ninja 400 which raises the seat height quite a bit. This plus the clip ons really puts the rider in an athletic position. - Van
Waste.
Question are the 2018 ex 400 same as the 2023 ex 400.?
Yes they are almost identical. Minor change to the way the speed sensor in the rear is mounted and there is an added emissions item. Otherwise the same bike. - Van
