NHTSA RECALL #
: AWAITING1
Campaign Description
: HYUNDAI/GENESIS HAS FILED RECALL CAMPAIGN 262/023G TO ADDRESS A CONDITION INVOLVING THE HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLIES IN CERTAIN HYUNDAI AND GENESIS
VEHICLES PRODUCED FOR SALE IN THE U.S. AND CANADA.
Safety Risk
: THE FUEL CONTROL VALVE ("FCV") IN THE HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL PUMP ("HPFP") ASSEMBLIES EQUIPPED IN THE SUBJECT VEHICLES COULD ALLOW EXCESS FUEL TO ENTER THE FUEL PUMP DUE TO GRADUAL WEAR OF THE FCV PLUNGER. AN AIR/FUEL MIXTURE THAT RUNS TOO "RICH" MAY RESULT IN A REDUCTION OR LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER AT LOW SPEEDS, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy
: ALL OWNERS OF THE SUBJECT
VEHICLES WILL BE NOTIFIED BY FIRST CLASS MAIL WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO BRING THEIR VEHICLES TO A HYUNDAI DEALER OR GENESIS RETAILER FOR AN ENGINE ECM SOFTWARE REVISION. IN THE EVENT OF AN EXISTING
MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP (MIL) ON CONDITION, THE HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WILL ALSO BE REPLACED.
THIS REMEDY WILL BE OFFERED AT NO COST TO OWNERS FOR ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE AFFECTED VEHICLES ARE STILL COVERED UNDER HYUNDAI/GENESIS NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY.
ADDITIONALLY, HYUNDAI/GENESIS WILL PROVIDE OWNERS OF AFFECTED VEHICLES REIMBURSEMENT FOR OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES INCURRED TO OBTAIN A REMEDY FOR THE RECALL CONDITION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REIMBURSEMENT PLAN SUBMITTED TO NHTSA ON FEBRUARY 22, 2024.

I'm a honda fan boy who used to have a Type r but now an Elantra N. We had our share of fuel pump problems on the fk8 type r ( 17-21) they had a recall of it because they were giving out. Mine gave out at around 33k miles and left me stranded. It was changed free of charge
Oh ok thats cool brother 🙂 all cars got their problems it doesn’t matter if it a Hyundai, Honda, Toyota or something else
@@PolishBullittexactly
Thanks for the video! I had read on Reddit about the notice but I didn’t get one yet, but I just looked my VIN up and sure enough there it is. We’ll see how this pans out but at least they’re addressing it.
Thanks brother, yeah me too I didn’t get anything in the mail yet but my vin shows recall. I already have upgraded hpfp so problem solved haha, but I’m glad they doing it for a lot of people who don’t chase numbers lol
Now we just have to wait for a knock sensor recall haha 😆
@@PolishBullitt 😂 I bet they’ve already forgotten about the knock sensor.
@n-power-automotive I’m sure they did haha I guess we gonna have to remind them one more time with another video 😆
Im almost 20k miles no issues atm but yeah i see my car is also awaiting the recall
As of now, is there a remedy?
My buddy is going next week, it’s going to be a software update and they gonna look at his pump if he needs a replacement
Haven't had any issues yet but if that's the case instead of waiting for it to happen might has well get the upgraded one from n75 motorsports so at least I won't run into that problems in the future of ownership
I think that would be a good solution, I will be changing my hpfp soon anyways
My 2020 white volester N had that issue sadly
I heard velosters had that issue unfortunately
My '22 Veloster N just gave out on the interstate with only 20k miles on the clock. It's confirmed to be the HPFP. Unfortunately It's stuck at the local dealership because I'm in the awkward window of no remedy... Soooo It's stuck at the dealer until there is a fix. Sucks. I've had the car for only 8 weeks.
Oh man what the heck?! 🫤 I’m sorry to hear that brother, from what I know they should have a fix in September, but still why they just don’t replace the hpfp for a new one?
@@PolishBullitt From what they told me, they have to wait for the remedy. I would love for them to just replace with the same model. It would give me some time until there is a remedy.
@andywilliamb yeah I kinda understand their position, it’s just really bad timing for you my friend unfortunately unless you buy and change your own hpfp 🫤
@@PolishBullitt Yeaaaaaa soooo about that. Last night during my frustration I bout an upgraded N75 HPFP. I called the dealer this morning and they said if I put it on the car, all fuel related warranty is out the window. Soooo for now I'll keep it when it gets here and install when warranty goes out the window.
@andywilliamb oh yeah haha you can’t just buy a part and tell them to install haha I have upgraded hpfp from shark racing but I don’t know if I should install it now or wait for a dealer to fix the stock one
Hey boss, are you in the Chicago area?
I’m in Chicago suburbs area, Schaumburg to be precise
If you just upgrade the HPFP on the stock tune would it increase performance or anything?
I don’t think it will unless your fuel pump was in really bad shape anyways we gonna find out soon after I change mine if there’s any real difference in stock form 🙂
@PolishBullitt the fuel cut won't exsist, maximum power allowed with the piggyback back on, might wanna contact Mizeal and see if there's an update when you do this. Btw, did you get the update when you did the intske/TIP🤷♂️
@PolishBullitt Awesome, we appreciate you🤙🏼
@klasseact6663 yeah Stillen already told be to contact them after I install the HPFP cause they might have something extra for me haha and yes I told them about the intake
@jordynhixson655 thanks brother, I’m here for the community haha 💪🙂
Well, you already have the remedy at home, so you're good.Just gotta put the pump in😉
I’m saved thanks to you haha 😉
@@PolishBullitt You should replace it a s a p just because of this recall
@klasseact6663 I mean my car works fine I didn’t notice any hesitation so far, but yeah I will change it soon regardless 🙂
@@PolishBullitt Yeah you keep mentioning the fuel cut
@klasseact6663 yeah I do have them when I use piggyback at 90+mph at WOT but everything is gucci when I don’t use it
I got car from South Korea and Im located in saudi arabia they will change it for me ? I got code P0087
This should be covered under warranty unless you messed with it
Too many issues with these.. fuel injector issues, high pressure fuel pump, knock sensor issues etc. Is just to much. We see too many issues with Hyundai and Kia’s in my friend auto shop. Sure other brands have issues but it’s the way Hyundai is handling these issues and they don’t correct the issue. They keep making the same cars with the same issues vs addressing it.. I would NOT have one of these for daily that you need to be reliable. It too bad because they are nice cars with decent performance.
I get it brother and I appreciate your input, personally I had an issue with my knock sensor and horn and it was fixed by a dealer other then that 47k miles and *knock knock nothing really serious 😉
Glad I passed on this shit box and got a performance 3 tesla
Hahaha 😆 good for you brother 🙂
Thanks Eric!! Your opinion has been duly noted. 🤡
Love those people, “Man i’m glad I passed on this shit box and got myself BMW M4 Competition” 😆😆😆😆😆😆
@Ems00837 oh yeah, 🍎 to 🍎 for sure🙄🙄🙄
Didn't Misha Charoudin said the brakes on the Tesla P3 are catching on fire?? Keep the fire extinguisher close.
