  • Chest tubes nursing care video on the nursing management and assessment of chest tubes of the drainage system. This NCLEX chest tube review will cover the purpose of chest tubes, reasons for chest tube insertion, types of chest tubes (wet suction chest tube and dry suction chest tube), nursing management, complications, and chest tube removal. I will discuss the drainage system in depth regarding the drainage collection chamber, water seal chamber, and suction control chamber. In addition, I will cover how to monitor for an air leak in the chest tube, explain the water seal fluctuation when the patients breathes in and out, when water bubbling is normal versus not normal, and how to tell if a chest tube drainage system is a wet suction or dry suction system. I will also discuss what to do if a chest tube becomes dislodged, if the system breaks, and the nursing care for chest tube removal. Don't forget to check out my other NCLEX review videos.

Hi Ms. Sarah, sorry for posting this message late. But I would just like to say thank you for all your NCLEX series videos. I have not made any paid subscriptions to help me review and prepare for my NCLEX. Your lectures actually covered everything I need to know for NCLEX combined with Saunder's Q and A only. Continue sharing your knowledge and experience to all nurses around the world. You are such an inspiration! Anyways, I did pass my NCLEX for the first time and now I am referring your channel to nurses planning to take NCLEX as well as to BSN students I know of in the Philippines! How I wished, we had this learning platform during my college years, surely I must have done better in my schooling ang local board examination. But still... our great appreaciation of your noble work! God bless you more!

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your nursing journey. I wish you the best in your new career as a nurse. It really means so much to me to hear that these videos are helping students become nurses!! Again, congratulations!

Nursing books are very expensive. Some students in far provinces don’t even have means to acquire a book nor borrow from library. Learning skills and meds takes repetitive listening, demos & practice. Nurse Sarah gets them covered. Thank you Nurse Sarah❤️

Thank you so much Ms. Sara. You and your channel has been a great help while I was preparing and reviewing for my NLCEX exam last July 2016. As a foreign nursing graduate it has been very difficult for me to integrate all the learnings and ideas but the way you presented the topics has really been a tremendous help for me in understanding the key concepts of each nursing topic. I am already an RN and working in a PCU unit and I still come here in your channel to frequently brushed up my nursing skills and knowledge. So once again thank you for taking the time to do these very excellent presentations.

I have been struggling, not because the content is hard, it is boring and I think "What am I doing. I have already been through this once!" Your approach is refreshing and you add all the considerations, interventions and tips that make Nursing challenging and interesting .
I have subscribed to your site and will refer to it often as I re-enter the Nursing Profession..

You're amazing! I only wish I had a half your knowledge. I am qualified a few years now but my confidence isn't great and I'm always looking for new ways to learn and remember things. I'm recently new to cardiology nursing and its intense. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us x

Hello Geraldine, very nice to see you again on here :) Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm glad the videos are helping you. It is awesome you are in cardiac nursing right now. That is my specialty, and yes, I agree it is intense but you learn so much. Hang in there because it takes a while to develop confidence as a nurse. I hope my videos can help you build confidence. Thanks again for your comment....it always feels good to receive positive feedback from a fellow nurse ;-)
