Sarah thank you SO much for all of your videos. I've recently graduated nursing school in December, 2019. You were a lifesaver throughout my entire nursing program! You made everything make sense!
This has been one of my weaknesses, being able to determine if the ABG values were uncompensated, compensated or partially compensated. You just made it so easy for me to remember using this tic tac toe method. Thank you so much!!

GREAT VIDEOOOO! idk if this would help but my lecturers taught us to write the normal values down pH (7.35 - 7.45), HCO3 (22 - 26) but for PCO2 write it as 45 - 35 (rather than 35 - 45), that way everything towards the left would be acidotic and anything towards the right would be alkalotic :D

I never could get the hang of ABGs. I've been through a lot of different videos. This one was the easiest method to learn by far, I really needed this for my upcoming nclex! Thank You

+Stacy Ann Scott Thank you very much, Stacy! I hated solving ABGs until I found the tic tac toe method because I would always get confused on if HCO3 was metabolic or if it was an acid or base etc. I hope you ace your exam Monday. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a comment!
