Alice Coltrane is such an exquisitely beautiful soul. Hearing her describe the experience of oneness with the Most High was deeply moving. And, seeing her with her babies, so bravely carrying on after her husband's ascension truly warmed my heart.
This woman was not only one of the greatest and most spiritual musicians I ever heard...she was also one the most beautiful human beings I ever saw...AND she drove a Jaguar Type E!! I´m speechless...
I have been drawn to John Coltrane's music for years, but now that I have discovered Alice Coltrane it's a whole new life, and a new world. I was asking the Universe for some light and here it is. ✨
Thank you for sharing, over the last years I started to collect her records, which seem to be out of this world, so divine. I did this intuitevly without knowing much about her. This is the first time I see a documentary about her, and I am very happy that she is such a kind, beautifull and deeply spiritual soul. If only more people get this music, the world would be a better place. RIP turiya
I have never seen this footage & needless to say its absolute gold ~ thank you thank you!! Alice Coltrane is one of the greatest musicians/composers of all time; that she’s under the radar at all is a tragedy. She radiates as much beauty & profound spirituality as her music, it’s so special to behold
I love that the modern artist Flying Lotus imbues so much of her into his music since she was his grandmother. He makes it spiritual, cosmic and ancient while making it electronic. He incorporates the Harp into his work a lot, and it’s almost like it’s Alice Coltrane’s spirit gently guiding him to the spirit realm for inspiration… and I’m not even religious either but that’s what I get from it
Flying lotus doesn’t reach a spiritual level ..he is far away from that …how can you be spiritual when using music to get fame and profit …check sun ra he was the only real musician and all others failed
thanks for this upload. I've been a fan of pharoah and alice since I was a teenager and even started to play sax/flute because of them. but I never saw old videos of them together, till now. thanks

Great Documentary! It's wonderful that the Coltrane House(as shown in this video)is now a Museum!(Great Place to Visit). The section of the live performance was priceless! Thanks So Much for Posting! Bless!
After watching n listening to her am going to lock me in my study and relisten to her music. I've got five albums of her's and almost everything of John's...
The only photos I've seen of John smiling were with Alice. Despite the controversy of his playing in the last year of his life, I think he was a happy man, totally free of the need for approval by some audience.
BEAUTIFUL WOMAN. I SAW SOME OF THE INTERVIEW WITH HER, THROUGH BRANFORD MARSALIS. AMAZING LADY, I COULD TALK ASTRO TRAVELING WITH HER FOREVER!!!!!!!!!! SHE REPS THE GIFTED, LIKE THE X-MEN...RESPECT TO THIS MUSICIAN!!!!!!!!!!!
I hear what sounds like Pharoah on soprano, possibly audio clips recorded before the show later? They don't sound like anything released. The tune they start with in the band in Coltrane's "Africa" from Africa Brass.
Africa Brass Sessions original LP was Africa Brass, now its out in expanded form on CD, you can hear those motifs there. The LP contains very evocative arrangements with Eric Dolphy.
Miguel, how can I make contact with the provider of licensing for this film? My name is Kiera. I organize an event called Street Movies produced by Scribe Video Center, it's a public free screening hosted throughout Philadelphia. I think this film would be an invaluable addition, if you have any leads that would be helpful.
what is that song in the beginning when they are introducing Trane and his legacy? That's definitely him playing? Or is it Pharaoh? It's a beautiful melody. Please help me identify!!!
I've just learned that Stan Lathan (vétéran director and producer and actress Sanaa Lathan's father) directed this vidéo and another one about Max Roach and Abbey Lincoln. I want to see it!
These two creative geniuses are the definition of kindred spirits
Alice Coltrane was a deeply mystical genius. Journey in Satchidananda is my favorite jazz record and in my top 10 albums.

She was an amazing being :) and that Jaguar was John's old car!!! www.pinterest.com/pin/643029653018849507/
John was very fortunate to meet his soul mate in Alice, even for a few years on this earth.

Alice was his great-Aunt. Agree 💯 about her influence coming through in his music.
Rah how did I not know he is her grandson 🤯
Wait what? FLYING LOTUS IS A COLTRANE?! You've totally blown my mind. Now THAT is cool.
Flying lotus doesn’t reach a spiritual level ..he is far away from that …how can you be spiritual when using music to get fame and profit …check sun ra he was the only real musician and all others failed
