you will not regret it... i bought the 3 compendiuns because of Mike's recommendations and in less than a week I'm on compendium 3,issue 110 if I'm not mistaken.. it's awesome!
I just bought all the 12 ultimate collection books on amazon after watching the first season on prime lol its amazing. the hardcovers was pricy though lol get the compendium if not into hardcore collecting or theres like 24 trade paperbacks haha.
Im really looking forward to the invincible series on amazon too! I want to read irredeemable, but missed out the hardcovers and even the new omnibus is oop.
Radiant Black is off to a promising start. Looking forward to Geiger. Shadecraft looks cool. Spawn has new books coming. Black Hammer is kind of an anti-superhero-superhero book, but it's brilliant, one of my favorites ever.
Nice to see Irredeemable getting some love. Great book, so was the companion piece. Some older ones I recommend are The Elementals from Comic (and other publishers), The Boys and Project Superpowers. Welcome to Tranquility by Wildstorm was also different and fantastic.
Well, if you're excluding the big two and their imprints like WildStorm/Vertigo (Planetary, Ex Machina, Sleeper) and Icon (Incognito, Powers) then I'd recommend C.O.W.L. by Image and Black Beetle by Dark Horse.
Hey Mike. Great video. I'm looking forward to "Invincible" on Amazon Prime Video. A few titles I'd throw out there would be: "Battle Pope"(it's kind of a superhero-ish title; MAY BE OFFENSIVE TO SOME), "The Consultant"(2-vols.- BE ADVISED: STRONG ADULT CONTENT), "Leaving Megalopolis"(BE ADVISED: ADULT CONTENT[also, Thanx, guys!], & "The Boys"(obvious, I know; for anyone who hasn't heard of this title... 18+ rating, for sure). Thanx again for the cool video & recommendations.😊👍🏻👍🏻❤
Invincible is my favorite series of all time. I burned through all 3 compendium, one of the most satisfying endings I've ever read I could wipe the grin from my face
The first 3 volumes of the Invincible hardbacks have dropped on Amazon . Volume 1 is going for $18. 99 & volumes 2 & 3 for $ 29.99 a piece . I don`t know how long those prices will last. The paperback omni`s price has doubled to $ 114. 97. If you`re interested in the hardbacks, now is the time.
Awesome video. Some others I'd personally add would be: The Authority (Wildstorm universe in general), Mark Millar's Jupiter series, The Boys, and Project Superpowers by Dynamite Entertainment (highly recommended btw. Forgotten Golden age superheroes brought back into a modern retelling by Alex Ross and Jim Kruger).
Great list! I've got them all except Black Hammer. One series I would highly recommend is "Hypernaturals" by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning from Boom! Studios.
Mark Ward though I'd wish I didn't get his stuff as he is just a.. well I don't want to be mean or offensive but his writing and what his done and expressed outside of comics makes me not want to like his stuff. But to be completely honest I did really like irredeemable.
I feel like I'm the only person that talks about this, but damnit, I'm right, lol: Invincible is poorly written. The dialogue is plainly bad. Like, if you plagiarized that dialogue and took it to a writing workshop, you'd get mad fun of. The characters all speak the same way ('oh crap!") they all have the same vaguely immature, cynical, 14-year-old worldview and think the same way. There are scenes that could be taken straight from daytime television. I can't believe how many people told me this was the greatest superhero comic ever written. It's a lot of fun, but it's also pretty amateur hour much of the time. Trips me out that nobody brings any of this up.
Non DC and Marvel comics are surprisingly well done and great for new readers as they don't require a life long (for a lack of a better word) addiction to understand fully. Wormwood is a great, really funny Comic published by IDW that I recommend to newbies like myself who have a sense of humour.

I started collecting invincible. Heard good things about it. Hopefully I will read it soon

@@--thiago- that’s what I’m gonna do. Are the compendiums hard to read? Because of the huge size.
@@kevinchan4911 not really but if you're gonna read holding it it can be annoying sometimes 😅 there's also 12 hc avaliable, so that's an option too

@@raelpaul8398 i regret not getting the hard covers, they look so nice on peoples shelves, I don't have that amount of space tho

A very different British hero, Luther Arkwright!
I recommend Miracle Man by Alan Moore.
Great read
Ditto . My favorite series. Great choice.
The Reckoners novel series by Brandon Sanderson is another superhero story to get into.

so Valiant comics are all connected?

I agree with Mark Millar’s Jupiter series. Some of his best work.
The Jupiter series is definitely one of my fav comics ever. Requiem is super good so far too
The authority
Brand new one that just started is Radiant Black by Kyle Higgins. Issue #1 was great, looks to be a winner!
You should buy the adventures of remeoshi the world's last hope volume one by reamey carr It is on amazon.
Irredeemable kicks so much azz, it should be illegal! 😍 You might wanna check out its sister series Incorruptible.
Incorruptible is awesome!
Great list! I've got them all except Black Hammer.
One series I would highly recommend is "Hypernaturals" by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning from Boom! Studios.
Thank you for the recommendation! Will definitely check it out
The Dark Tower is a great series by Marvel
Have they adapted all the books?
if anyone wants to try manga then "My Hero Academia" and "One Punch Man" are excellent super hero stories.
I never got into MHA but goddamn is OPM so good!
I have been wanting to pick up my hero academia for a while
@@tobiasbaumgartner8629 Excellent series and easily kicks the butt of most modern comics.
@@superdragonz1 OPM I find is is alright. Mob psycho is a better series overall.
Black Hammer is excellent. Also: Zenith.
Valiant's Bloodshot and Ninjak would be my choice.
What you think about X by Steven Grant and The end League by Rick Remender?

I would definitely add The Boys to the list. For people like me who are tired of generic marvel shit that series is especially delicious.
