I have question. I have BMW 320d 2011 163bhp ecu EDC17C50. I want to read the ecu file and then write
the remapped file back to car.
Can this tool do this?? I already have kess v2 clone and in the vehicle ecu list the ecu is not there so l'm not sure how to go about it? Can you advise please? If this tool will not help, which one will help? I can take the ecu out if that helps? Many thanks for your help!!
For reading this ecu with clones need remove ecu from car.

No, not can this ECU read/write via OBD, better solution for this ECU bench mode with KTM BENCH or FOXFLASH

In some cars, yes, it is safe, but it is better to check the file before writing to the car.
Have you ever tried turn dpf off on this ecu EDC17U01? Does it work ?

For K-TAG need opening ECU cover, KESS can read via OBD. Galletto can read via OBD and from inside ECU. But sometimes Galletto can't reading, then use K-TAG or KESS, but can be when no one read then use MPPS or KTM Bench.

Didn't that ECU had TPROT? Eeprom changes after reading or writing so you can't start your car after.

Is this tool Galleto china clone ore eu clone. Because on this Ecu kess v2 and mpps v18 can not write. I have read on some forums that this ecu is dangerous to do obd read/write??
Yes, i this ECU read/write with Galletto China clone. Passat CC 2.0 2009 EDC17 read/write successful, but when i try rewrite Passat CC 2.0 2009 EDC17 Quattro it failed. But nothing like that happened when I tried to rewrite. Then this car ECU read and write Tricore boot mode.
Just done one today, read by obd with Flex and when trying to write ecu is locked and car didn’t started.i had to take it out and bench it.
Maybe Your car with 4x4, because car with 4x4 can't do it via OBD. I self try rewrite Passat with 4x4 but not successful.

This variant just for VW Passat FWD because if Passat Quattro, then not working. Need read boot or with KTM without opening ECU

Ok ,003 group egr map dont off .
Look from 6 min 44 sec. EGR is closed, 003 group 2 section show specifies air mass parameters, 3 section show actual parameters. If EGR working then 2 section = 3 section, if EGR closed then 3 section always a larger parameter than 2 sections.

Yes can do it, because for 1,9 engines used ECU EDC16, this ECU read/write via OBD without problem.
