Serious question from a 40-year old working mom of young kiddos. In the 90s when I was middle school we used to wear baggy sweatshirts/pants/converse but with hoops/hair/makeup. I want to bring that back but as an Adam Sandler/grandpa chic thing…any young designers with aesthetic?

IM SO BORED😵. Wheres the creativity? I used to see MADE clothes with fashion students. Or getting inspiration from around the world. I can see buying vintage LABELS . Like a chanel accessory . Dior shoes with jeans . Ngl they look homeless. Bag lady, random everything pulled out if a dumpster and put on to look chic. I would never think they were fashion students.
Reviewing the gworls:
1. 2/5. Outfit is confused. Dull, boring color palette. Patterns clash but not in a good way. Mixed plaid scarf, plaid coat, and vertical stripe skirt? No. The coat itself is nice, but everything together is like a boring soup.
2. 4/5. You barely showed her full outfit, but from the 1.5 seconds i saw i think it looks good. But she has energy. Her hair is cool. Her jewelry is eye catching and the jacket is interesting. Oversized jacket with fun details reminds me of MISBHV. Baggy pants work well and shoes (converse?) are classic. Overall, rad.
3. 5/5. The baggy jeans and oversized brown leather jacket are a good look. Boots as well. Nice mix of masculine and feminine with the crop top.
4a. 3/5. Plaid skirt girl's outfit looks confused and messy. Jacket is fire. Skirt is ok... An actual pleated skirt that wasn't riipped up the side would look less try-hard. I'm not understanding the pale leg warmer corset things above her shoes. The opening of the denim shirt looks sloppy. Denim jacket on denim shirt? nah... She's so pale that I couldn't tell if she had a shirt on or if it was her skin. The colors aren't working for her skin tone. The head scarf is a no.
4b. 4/5. Redd head looks good. The bright pop of orange against the black leather works well. It's not a particularly inspired look. Pretty standard, but works.
5a. 5/5. Fuzzy hat girl. She looks great. Everything works except the cheap, dingy grey skirt. Love the vibes otherwise and it's unique.
5b. 2/5. Red head girl. Borrrriiinnnggg. Black sweater, jeans, black shoes? Don't waste my time.
6. 3/5. This outfit is mostly boring but the coat is everything and she's cute. The rating comes purely from the coat. Everything else is forgettable. She looks good though...
7. 2/5. Feels like a costume from some decade. Which decade? Idk. It's not flattering. The hat is ugh, the low rise jeans are ugh, the boots are ugh, and the scarf is random. Belt is cutting off her circulation. Burn those shoes and dump the bf for getting them. Is that a belly gemstone?! Bye. She looks like she doesn't know what season she's dressing for... Like are you cold or hot? Boring fit and tacky looking.
8. 0/5. Ew. Don't waste my time.
9a&b. 2/5. They both look exactly the same. All black? Yawn. No interesting silhouette, no personality, no spice. Tired.
This video? 2/5. Do better, you're in NYC... like, give me something with MEAT. What is this? Where are the true trendsetters and showstoppers? Not inspired by these.
