Makes it so we don't terminate the populations quickly, females taking at most 6-7 years to mature fully and be able to bear children and males taking 4
Well, I mean I dont think expendable is the right word. But they dont lay eggs so it doesn't hurt the species much within reason when you eat males. :) That's all.

If we only had men like these on earth then we'd have a lot more extinct species at our shorelines. It's good that he is an exception because I enjoy watching life at the tide instead of eating it all. I do compliment that he let the soft males crabs and the female egg-bearing crabs free, still, he's like a terrorist attack on the local shore wildlife.

This is so fascinating to me. I've always had an interest in nature, it's animals, etc, so this kind of video is the kind of thing that makes me want to go exploring and examining nature.

A good tip for razor clams, mix your salt and sea water 50/50 in a squeezy bottle it squirts down the hole really easy and prevents the salt from caking with the moisture.
Or you can go down onto the beach at night when they're already sticking out. Just grab them, hold them still while they try to retract, then when they stop resisting, just pull them out.
You would be wise not to stick your fingers into holes round the South Devon Coast. Theres often Conger Eel in them & many a diver has lost fingers or toes to a Conger Eel. Their teeth face backwards & are v sharp so no chance once your fingers are in its mouth. With that & the Weever Fish with venemous spines on their backs that hide in sand or mud I never go snorkling without shoes on & keep my fingers in veiw at all times

Lobster fishermen (in Ireland anyways) kill them and throw them back in the water cause they eat the bait out of the lobster pots. I've eaten eel in Chile that tasted beautiful (was one of the more expensive fish on the menu there) apparently was some type of Conger eel....

My 3 year old daughter loved watching this. Her favourite was the massive lobster!..... And the big daddy crab( the soft one). Great finds! Brave hands feeling in the murk for the sea monsters!
Probably for the best that they didn't. Obviously they have talent foraging but I think they just eat most of it directly after cooking without making it into a real meal. Most of us would find that taste disgusting but it's good that they like it.
Great video. Here at black sea we lack big types of crabs except Stone crabs(Eriphia genus) which sadly are endangered from Rapana Venosa . And even if you find em they run like crazy the moment they see you.

When foraging clams or anything of that matter, harvest one from different areas. This allows for a more sustainable ecosystem. I love this. The ocean provides.
I love that he threw the pregnant spider crab back so that reproduction would come full circle. That is how fishing is sustainable. If that were Japan, that would have been the first thing taken.

Crustaceans are boiled in water. Not much interesting to watch, let alone it's kind of sad to see creatures boiled alive. Might get demonetized, even.
