One of the few real musical GENIUS of our time. Like in the nineteenth century Liszt and others. The ultimate demonstration that the Greatest talents in music can compose, play an instrument at the highest level or improvise... When some others claim about specialitation, about that a composer cannot be a great interpreter or so..., don't hesitate, usually it is because they envy such a true musical gift. Enorme Gabriela!

Acabo de ver el recital (por fin). Lo disfrute enormemente. No voy a entrar en cada pieza que tocaste. Alma ,corazon y mente estuvieron en simbiosis y todo salio perfecto. Veia el arte por un lado, el absurdo de las mascaras del publico, pero tambien la emocion del momento con las improvisaciones que como tu dices son momentos irrepetibles, unicos. Excelente idea cambiar los zapatos. El escenario con todos esos escalones del mismo color es bastante traicionero.
Extraordinaria belleza y maestría. Gabriela ya era una genio. Histórico, además. Pocos como ella en la historia universal de la música. Pero en este concierto noto una mejora, aunque eso pareciera imposible. Se más madurez. Más seguridad. Más aplomo. Más profundidad espiritual. Más sensibilidad musical (si eso fuera posible, repito), y humana. Más sencillez. Más Verdad. Más autenticidad. Gran regalo para el mundo, y para los venezolanos en particular. Gran orgullo nacional. Motivo de inspiración para seguir la lucha por la libertad. Gracias, Gabriela. Que Dios te pague. Que Dios te guarde. Hace un par de meses mi papá me introdujo a ella (yo también toco el piano y a veces cuando no estoy practicando repertorio intento improvisar sobre temas al azar) y simplemente no me pude creer que eso era echo en el momento. Tiene una estructura, y sobre todo, suena increíblemente bien. Y solo menciono eso para no decir de más en el resto de su programa, que fue obviamente magnífico en todos los sentidos. Un verdadero orgullo para Venezuela y para el mundo de la música en general.

From the first bars you knew the Rachmaninoff was going to be great. The freedom in her technique allows the fff's to ring out. Very hard piece to make sense of and often doesn't work. At one point she was going to give up her career. Argerich encouraged her to continue. She could be one of the great ones. A real artist.

Splendid concert, thanks to Chopin Institute and Gabriella Montero, I found her Schumann and Rachmaninov very feminine and torrid as well ! A great musician !
