  • #enlightenment #awakening #nonduality #meditation The Complete Path to Enlightenment Part 1 | Meditation & Conduct.
This is part 1 of 2 videos on spirituality, enlightenment and the path towards awakening. In today's video I share the context for meditation, from the point where we are still at the conventional sense of self. If you are interested in this topic or if you are at a further stage in your meditation, I will also share a map for the spiritual journey and the nature of its unfolding once we know how to confidently see through the illusion of the self. This will be the second part of this video series.
In this video I talk about how to meditate, where to study meditation, calming the mind, training in concentration, struggling to meditate and obstacles that can occur on the path and the importance of love and compassion.

Really nailed it on this one, my dude. It seems so obvious and simple after you said it, but the part about how you gotta meditate if you want to be a person who has meditated hit me like a brick. I find that I am always searching for some information that I can directly insert into my life that will change my whole game. But, what I'm understanding is that I'm building that wisdom for myself. I'm doing my thing. Others have done their thing, and that's great and possibly helpful. But I can only do my own thing. Sit, study and move towards love. Everything else will handle itself- brilliant.

Great video as always. I feel these days meditation enhances the quality of my everyday life a lot (I am still a novice, only meditate probably 40 mins a week). I think my motivation to meditate is to make me more compassionate and enjoy the ‘other’ mundane part of my life (sipping tea, watching football, talking to friends, doing math, volunteering) a lot more. I’m not really bothered about being enlightened or anything, just want to learn to appreciate a normal everyday life and I think 10-15 mins of meditation a day gives me that. I don’t really have any intention to take up a deeper study or practice study where I will someday make it the centre stage of my life and do it 3-4 hours a day, as for me meditation is just a tool to enhance my regular life and that of others. Looking for constructive feedback on this outlook 😊

I think this is wonderful :) And I hope saying less emphasises that. I think “Enlightenment,” is fairly irrelevant for most people, until our lives are already very peaceful. What you’re doing sounds ideal and probably the sort of relationship to meditation that should become normal! 😄

Once you reach satori and the ego drops away compassion may arise when we see other minds imprisoned in their mental ego cages.

Yes! My Part 2 will talk about this compassion :) The most important compassion.

This reminds me of Jesus and what salvation really is.

I like your display name Encouragingly Authentic. Eckhart Tolle also says some interesting interpretations of Jesus that I really like, and from memory his teachings are insightful because he’s versed in the languages.

16:28 “The training is not conceptualizing your present experience and just recognizing it for what it is. And that is and it happens to be selfless.” Yes. This training is also the experience of nonduality.
“Then, Bāhiya, you should train yourself thus: In reference to the seen, there will be only the seen. In reference to the heard, only the heard. In reference to the sensed, only the sensed. In reference to the cognized, only the cognized. That is how you should train yourself. When for you there will be only the seen in reference to the seen, only the heard in reference to the heard, only the sensed in reference to the sensed, only the cognized in reference to the cognized, then, Bāhiya, there is no you in connection with that. When there is no you in connection with that, there is no you there. When there is no you there, you are neither here nor yonder nor between the two. This, just this, is the end of stress.”

As a soto zen practitioner, extreme minamalist it is good to see your content. Apparently minamalism is on the decline. Not sure why. It is a perfect life.

The decline! That’s unfortunate. Maybe there’s just so many new consumers? Minimalism seems to at least be a bit of a trend at the moment :D

A good video with lots of interesting stuff but I did find it hard to listen as the sound was very low. I switched things as high as I could and managed. Also the lighting was a bit dark. I hope you don't mind me saying as I always enjoy your videos but this one was a bit difficult! very best wishes,

Thank you Susan! I changed the microphone and lighting so I’ll have to keep tinkering 😄

Okay here’s attempt 2! ruclips.net/video/ek-BmvxVXLA/видео.html I thought about you, and I think I got the lighting much better and sound is better, but still needs some tinkering!
