• Started with a full pack of boneless skin on Bell and Evans Chicken Thighs.
• Seasoned with Grillaholics Herbacious Hen.
• Set up the SNS Travel Kettle to run hot with the SNS Basket.
• Was shooting for a grill temp of 400F degrees.
• Placed all of the chicken thighs skin up to start the cook, the grill was loaded.
• Left them on for 25 minutes and then flipped them for the next 15 minutes and then put the thighs over direct heat for some color on the bottom. Once they all reached near 170F degrees, we pulled them off and set up for the ending.
Summary: The Slow ‘N Sear Travel Kettle always does a great job and the Gillaholics Herbacious Hen really tasted great and you could notice it has a low salt content! The smell was outstanding.
We didn’t get the temp up on the cook like I wanted to, and I think that was from using older charcoal that was sitting in the grill for a few weeks. I did not add much new charcoal to this cook. But the thighs still turned out great!

I had the same thing happen last week Charcoal was a bit damp and I couldn't get it up to temp. Thanks for posting the video anyway. You ended up with a great result.
Sure thing! We pretty much post everything we do, good or bad. Everyone runs into some issues when cooking as you mentioned and as long as you don’t over cook it, you can make it work! Thanks for watching! Cheers!
Three cheers for low salt! I’ll be checking out that rub and man those thighs looked great.
I am with you! Always like rubs that are lower in salt! The rub really had good flavor! Thanks as always! Cheers!
Hey Craig looks like a good cook. like you said it looked a bit challenging! did you think that you might of overload the chicken on to 1 area at the start of the cook ?
I always cook thighs normally and go skin side down so the juices run in to the skin, I find it personally a much better cook, then when you flip the chicken over the skin is upright and the juice are running back down over the chicken so the skin is already juicy and crisp, and the rest of the chicken juices run over the chicken again and almost baste it. Ever tried this method before?
Happy grilling Matt.
Hey Matt! Thanks for watching! I am sure having it loaded up as much as I did contributed some of the heat issues. I think you missed a previous video that we did on the SNS Kettle with the rotisserie ring. I cooked them skin down because you mentioned your method before. Unfortunately when I did the video, I didn’t have your name handy and I just mention we got a comment, that was you! LOL It did work out nice and when I cook this many thighs would do that again. ruclips.net/video/TYYEepqPvUs/видео.html Here is the previous video. Cheers!
Does the grill grate spin around? It seems it would be easier to spin sometimes intsead of moving each thigh one at a time.
I had to watch this again to see what I did? Common sense would say to spin the grate, but apparently I was lacking when we cooked these! LOL The grate does spin nicely and I usually always spin the grate on those cooks! Appreciate you watching! Cheers!
@@beers-jackofbbq I'm thinking about buying one and noticed. I know being on camera makes it easy to forget stuff. Party on.
For sue, the plan in my head does not always come out on camera! LOL
They look good! 🔥
The thighs were excellent and your new rub is outstanding! Thanks for watching! Cheers!
Great looking chicken brother!
Thanks! They were very tasty! Would have liked the skin slightly crisper, but the rub had great flavor! Cheers!
Keep the videos coming!
Thanks Jim! We will keep them coming for sure! Appreciate you watching! Cheers!
Great cook, enjoy your videos. Thanks 👍🍻🍻🍻cheers
Thanks John! We appreciate that! Glad you enjoy! Cheers!
Thighs are my favorite!!!
They look great
Mine too! And finding them being boneless with the skin on was a bonus! Thanks as always! Cheers!
Thats half the fun working the charcoals grill, 100% on the chicken.
This one didn’t go as planned, but still worked out! I am with you, every cook is an adventure and fun getting the similar result no matter what the grill is doing! Thanks for watching! Cheers!
Great looking chicken thighs.
It worked out, but not as planned! I did have the grill maxed out with chicken, but glad I did, Jack did a number on these! LOL Thanks as always Dave! Cheers!
I love bone in thighs on the grill!
Me too! That is usually what I get, but finding these that were boneless with the skin on was a bonus! Thanks for watching! Cheers!
@@beers-jackofbbq I just made Bone in Theighs this past Sunday ... lol .
Nothing like that crispy skin !
keep on grilling as Pitmaster X says ....
Brad.
@@brad4527 Crispy skin is the best! Pitmaster X has a fun channel!
@@beers-jackofbbq So any plans for a holiday video?
@@brad4527 We are doing a Capon for thanksgiving on the SNS Kettle Rotisserie and not exactly sure on Christmas yet. If you were talking about Labor Day, nothing planned. Next weeks video will either be some heritage pork chops on the SNS Kettle or rotisserie chicken wings on the SNS Kettle with the napoleon rotisserie basket. We shoot pretty far ahead so this never feels like a job.
I almost feel like a vortex would do better at this than the SnS basket
That is an interesting thought! I do like how the SNS basket works with the air flow. I will have to see if my vortex fits in this grill. I like the thinking for anything that can make it better! Cheers!
amazng !:)
Thanks! They turned out nice! Appreciate you watching! Cheers!
