This man’s influence in the rap game is crazy cuz almost every mainstream and underground rapper started adding autotune to their songs after he did. After his first song blew up, there was autotune in almost every song for at least a decade and in rap even longer. The first songs to come out with autotune after Tpains songs got big didn’t know how to use it that well or would overdo it. They just saw how popular songs with it were and also thought that it could make any bad singer sound good. Problem was that Tpain actually had a voice and lyrical talent and the autotune was just like a perfectly placed instrument.
The talented ones would understand that Tpain used autotune to just enhance his music and not overdo it. They then go mess around with it until they figured out how they would use it to enhance their songs and make straight masterpieces. That’s how a lot of rappers/artists that came after Tpain got big. While some others would abuse the hell outta autotune and make a trash record because they just thought since autotune was big during that time that any song with it would blow up as long as it was all autotune from start to finish.
Yeah....no underground people use autotune like that,wtf 😂
The fact of the matter is that you wouldn't have a majority of these rappers today that use auto tune if it wasn't for t pain. Most notably Travis Scott.
