  • Learn how to create a beautiful little windmill diorama. This video provides step by step instructions about materials and methods needed for the build. The diorama with it´s windmills and other details is based on the windmills found in Resmo, Öland, Sweden.
The windmills in this video is 3D-printed which reduces cost up to 90% compared to buying plastic kits in the shops. We´re using the new 14k resolution resin "Red VAX" from SunLu in our printer.

I liked the Sun 4k resins but they got kinda scarce for awhile. By the looks you could really use some smaller supports, your prints had some overkill on support tip thickness. Keep up the good fight!

I like the built.. and want to try making this. In the Netherlands we have a lot of mills, but usually the wings or wieken (as we call it in dutch), are covered by some cloth like a sail. So they catch more wind.
Maybe I could make that out of paper..

Am pretty sure they had cloth back in the days in Sweden too but the majority or all of these are not used as mills any longer so they are "naked".

Hello Martin. Why are you sanding the XPS when you put then a putty on it?

In the US, we call lots of things windmills that have nothing to do with grinding grain. Most pump water. I have never seen these before, so I looked them up. These are real windmills. Inside is a grinding stone. Just thought I would throw that out there in case anyone else was wondering.

Another excellent idea. We don't model a certain country or region, so everything goes, lol. Call it terra hodgepodge hahah. In that regard, adding windmills is a splendid suggestion.
