I agree! Hope to see more of zach too and itll have the same effect. It's cool seeing younger people play games like this cause most people their age I dont think would be able to or have the attention span to
I was thinking the same thing lol he’s thinning out and getting the highschool we look now lol he’s also more comfortable playing and you can see the confidence lol he’s the man, makes me excited for my kids to get old enough to play because they’ll be just like him 😆😆
David looks like someone that can become a Magic the Gathering Pro-Player, but it's a sad thing that Wizards completely destroyed Standard. the Pro-League and the whole tournament structure even before covid.
Haven’t finished the video but Chris seems like a player who knows what he’s doing on his turn before it comes up and doesn’t spend 10 minutes thinking when his turn is up and I’m all for it.
opposition agent missed 2 searches...skyshroud and wood elves. the point of Lynches deck is to have Geth and friends mill things so Geth gets more options...phenax does not need to be a creature to mill things.
Well, Phenax itself does need to be a creature to mill, because it doesn't gain the ability to tap to mill unless it is a creature. It doesn't need to be a creature to let other creatures mill though. Lynch could have been tapping every creature he had right before his untap to mill a ton from everyone else, so he definitely missed out on a big part of how to play his deck.
Thank you for sharing this experience with the community. I wait two weeks in quiet anticipation for your friendly games. On the day the videos drop I make plans, sit in the recliner with a bowl of popcorn and lose myself in the MTG experience. You have a great channel and I love the interaction and table banter between the players. Again, thank you for sharing this with the community.
Lynch: You have a very nice looking deck.... (as he is looking in the yard seeing what is milled) Chris: Thank you Lynch: I'm gonna have to exile it...
Thats Bad threat assessment 🤣 milling cards should not take priority over a squirrel army who basically would’ve won if not for opposition agent and wortmother making 33 red mana to shoot everyone in the face for 99 total damage
Great episode and great show. I really like the multiple camera angles and the flow of everything is very smooth and informative. Great attitudes as well.
Have always loved this show, but this table of players is my favorite yet! Everyone seems so natural and authentic, with a great mix of persona's. Would love to see you 4 play some more games ❤️
Yes, I think it slightly mattered since Larry needed a ton of mana and he would have missed out on 4 lands had opposition agent worked properly, but it's on the host for not realizing his own card's effect. Good game regardless.
I really enjoy this show, but there’s a rule which has been overlooked quite often across many episodes. When a card says ”target”, you have to select the targets BEFORE people start making other decisions. For example: Chris had to choose modes and targets for Casualties of War before the other players decided whether they wanted to respond. Likewise, Lynch had to decide who to target with Bojuka Bog before seeing what was milled by the crab’s landfall trigger. They trigger at the same time and can be stacked whichever way, but the target has to be selected before either resolves.
I know this video came out at a transitory time for the show, and I'm happy that it was addressed with grace and love. Lynch, I've been a huge fan since I found your channel. You are an absolute class act, and I am really thankful that you enjoy creating content for all of us.
Haven't watched for a minute, but that opening statement is the #1 sentiment of this game. Theres always another round and chance for a crazy game someone wants. Sometimes anything can happen no matter how many times you goldfish. No reason to tilt when you've got the few people will play this game
Lynch - OPPOSITION AGENT - people are searching for lands . . . you can search and get them instead - lol - also the other guy who played Casualty of War why didn't he get rid of Tvesh Szat?
A+ episode. So much fun watching all these decks go off. David's "fuck you" with the opposition agent completely deserved and hilarious. Shots of hot sauce is brilliant. When we play games that usually take longer terms (ie, Catan) we set a 2 minute timer - take longer than the 2 minutes it's a shot of an adult beverage!
Around 13:25 when you played the bojuka bog, you need to declare targets for the bog before the mill trigger resolves. You can't know what they mill before picking a target in that situation if you stack the triggers that way.
@@johnsannicolas5649 Yes, he can choose to stack his targets. This has nothing to do with which way he chooses to stack them but with his declaration of target after the mill trigger had resolved. He can't choose the target after seeing the first triggered ability resolve. Part of the bojuka bog ability going on the stack is choosing a target.
@@johnsannicolas5649 yes but you choose the targets when the ability goes on the stack. so while yes he can choose to have the mill resolve before bajuka bog resolves he still must choose who bajuka bog is targeting when it's added to the stack. which would be before the mill is resolved
You’re both right lynch changed his target because he saw food chain get milled, should’ve been a takesie back counter and you can still choose how you stack it
If you are going to show a card overlay I would recommend you show the art that has the rules text on it. I understand Lynch stated aloud what it does and you could look it up but it kinda defeats the purpose of showing the card. This is in regards to ponder at 21:04.
I am really excited to see David progressing in the game. It's like watching myself in a way from a kid to a teen to an adult. I also appreciate that every deck you guys have is running the same cards (such as cedh) because some other creators really just do the most uninspired decks and it feels disingenuous. I'm excited to see Wort on this episode. Can you do some episodes where you use some commanders who aren't in the top 100 on edhrec?
Loved the interaction when Larry casted his Commander for the first time. Don't test me bro :D great episode as always. "I'm a fat 9th grader let me be" had me rolling also. Dude listen you got time to get in shape but never lose your humour.
Don't see people outside of the highway patrol with mustaches anymore. Dude looks like he's about to tie a woman down to the train tracks and "you'll never stop the train in time, Lone Ranger!" 🤣
@David, I get you man, I have a Chatterfang deck too and even though it's lower power than yours my table hates it, they so scared of some little cute squirrels!
13:20 Because the bog and the crab both trigger at the same time, you wouldn't actually be able to look at what gets milled before deciding whos graveyard to exile. As soon as the trigger goes on the stack, you have to declare targets.
Love me some Phenax. Second commander I built. I always love how much hate mill will get and the challenge of trying to mill the table vs a thassa's oracle self mill win. Loved this match. I live in San Diego County and there's such a big military contingent amongst the MTG community here so rad to see. Also I love me some opposition agent because it is such a good balancing force. The higher power decks run fetches for mana consistency and tutors for combo consistency so Opposition agent is mediocre at low level tables and game warping at high levels. Real cool design having that format flexibility.

When the person doesn't read the card that's usually the case, but I find I can't follow the episode if I don't see the card or hear people explaining the cards. I'm new and learning! Thanks!

Really enjoying these episodes with Larry. Dude seems like he has a pretty strong grasp of the game and is decent at keeping track of interactions.
except for when he kept plus twoing Tevesh while using the +1 ability a couple episodes ago

Hell its only been a year...
Poor David, when he tries to search something, Lynch is like "Opposition agent". But not when Chris or Larry searches.
Thats what im saying
I quickly went into the comments to see if someone else notice.
Same was like guy searchs for land points at opp agent guy searches fir double forest opp agent
Llanowar Elves did not die to Toxic Deluge. LOLz
also Lynch comes up with some sketchy rules about looking at David's hand. that is def not a thing.

As episodes go on David begins to look more and more like young pyromancer

I’m enjoying watching David grow up before our eyes in these videos! Gonna be kicking some serious butt wrestling!
That opening Lynch! So good. Learning to Loose gracefully. Yes. You sir are a gentleman. Also, Routing for you DAVID!

Chris’s search at 30 minute was missed too I think
Lynch clearly isn’t used to playing oppo agent, Chris got 2 lands that he wasn’t supposed to get
So did Larry right after that! :)
Larry and David are just a match made in heaven, being like Dad and Son. Such humble plays there! Really enjoyed the show!

The man's a Korvold player, he knows the struggle.
playing Ruin Crab on turn 1 is basically asking to get bullied 😂
Can confirm. My Phenax deck causes me to get bullied as well LOL
i also have a chatterfang, for a filler card for funnzies....... i put altar of the brood. i like punishment.
Yeeeeeah, buncha mill haters. Granted, my Phenax deck does it's fair share of bullying as well. XD

By far my favorite channel to watch Magic games on. Keep up the amazing content! Can't wait for the next game.

Larry might be my favorite guest on this show. Just oozes charisma and good vibes. Hope to see him more often on the show.
My wort the raidmother deck is very similar to
His. The best part is, is that it’s about 150$ with a basic ass land base and still smacks
Wort was one of my first decks and love to see it updated (from when I played it in 2013) and just wreck the table. Good times!

Hey David, Mark Rosewater said on his blog the correct way to pronounce Llanowar is LAN-oh-war.
Phenax gives his ability without being online...
Yeah I don't think Lynch realized that
it's Phenax being online is what gives power/toughness which Lynch wanted to use that toughness for mill
being online to tap is the difference of 7 cards mill
the sound of lynch speaking is in the left, it bother a little
