Two Things!!
A few people have asked if there is a way to place half-walls using this method, and there IS, but it does require the vines!
You will need to place the normal wall using the blinds, as depicted in the video. Then, remove the blinds and attach a half-wall-sized vine to that wall. It will snap to the bottom half of the full wall. Turn the wall into a doorway, which will allow you to remove it. Now you have a stand-alone half-vine, which of course you can then snap a half-wall to! After the half-wall is there, you can remove the vine, and you have a free standing half-wall without using any blueprints!
Also! For those of you who are concerned that Bethesda will patch this, I feel your fear in my heart! Lately they have been better about listening to our cries of agony when they’ve accidentally patched out stuff we use (they most recently did it with vines and floating objects). That said, the concern is valid! If you find that this does get changed, make sure to head over to the official Bethesda discord and create a post in the suggestion area (or bug report) relating to CAMPs (and of course upvote the ones regarding it as well). A lot of times the fixes are incidental, so making sure we communicate with them is very important in keeping these handy tricks in the game for little boys and girls like you and me ❤
It's a pretty safe bet that if they don't patch it when the next scoreboard comes out, they probably won't.
Have they patched it, or did I just do something wrong yesterday when I tried but was unable to place the walls? All walls were blocked, and it said I need to place foundation first.
@@fisketarn8093 next patch isn't until next month. That's when we'll know for sure.

Edited: Totally works in the new boat prefab. I was able to make a small shack with a doorway in the back of the boat. Thanks for the video

YOU, should team with a few of your closest friends and create a talk show, as you as host, and have guess to talk about all kinds of things (like; the dos and donts, the pro and cons, you and other people/ players, can either build or show a newly built camp, talk about 'plans', have guess to talk about their buildings, experiences and mayb what they would like to see new or come to Fallout 76, etc).

I don’t think they would - they usually patch stuff like this unintentionally. When they know we use something for camp building they usually let us have it. Except for that one door. I’m still mad about the door

It's awesome that you can place the blinds in air when I couldn't place it on multiple windows without it saying it needed support. Only in the Wastedland. *spelled correctly
Lol I was having that issue too. I’m not sure what is wrong with it
So I was having this issue too and was very frustrated. I found that if you have any sort of furniture or camp items on either side of the wall where the blinds are being placed, you have to store it all away. These blinds seem to have a very unusual hit box around them.

I dnt get it 😕 when i try to place it will only let me place like a foot above the ground if i try place anywhere 😖😖😖😖 Also ..When i get a wall on the blind and they wont stick when i try to move it .tried blueprinting it . Still didnt stick together and would only let me place trying to stick to the earth underneith in certain places only.. when i try place a floor under the blind before the wall it says object in the way lol ??? Iv literally spent 2 days trying to get floors around that little box sticking out the back of the tavern ,, im over a cliff edge and my blinds are going up and down trying to stick the the rockface but not the correct height i want it
So can this be used to make a circular pattern building? Would certainly be a hell of a lot less tedious with the other method.
This also peeves me because Bethesda *could* do this with walls, but merely refuses to….

Is there any way to get the blinds now that the scoreboard is gone?
I would just wait till they add them to the atom shop (which there is a high chance of), it's possible they will introduce other blinds or wall decor that behaves the same way as well

I unlocked the blinds but haven't played around with them yet. That's amazing. Bethesda hates fun so I'm sure they will "fix" this mistake.
I don’t think so! 🤞🏻 they reverted the vines “fix” and the door “fix” when they found out it ruined our building joy! As long as they know we need it and will riot if they change it, we should be good! 😟

BTW building in video games is definitely what I enjoy most. I've dumped more time into base building in Fallout 76, Ark survival evolved and Conan Exiles than the actual games themselves.

Nice video. I tried it and the wall won’t set in??? It even glows white instead of green. Am I doing something wrong? I am using the opened blinds and those do set in mid air but not the walls.
Do you have a foundation placed somewhere in your camp? Walls won’t place unless there is a foundation somewhere placed already

I don't know any current ways to build over-budget. Maybe they will increase it in the future now the game is running so smoothly and not crashing anymore and has 16x the detail 🤞

Not directly, but I added instruction on how to do half-walls in the pinned comment above! It does require the vines, unfortunately
Can you snap floors to the floating walls?
You can snap a foundation to it, if the foundation has support (ground underneath it). You cannot snap an upper floor to it

WHY WHY WHY every time I skip a season because I'm burned out. Turns out it hat a realy great Camp item, like Grandma, the Freezer, the blinds WTF! If you ever want an amazing time in F76 pay me to skip a season....

They’ll fix and patch an xp exploit in Expeditions immediately if it effects their money, any other glitch ahh oh well 🤷🏼♂️
I know, it's kind of insulting. Back when pvp was a thing, people were glitching into god mode and we were told it wasn't fixable. Then, two weeks after the godmode glitch was used to stack XP and finish the scoreboard in a couple hours, they fixed the godmode glitch. Do they realize how transparent they are? I doubt it

Great for builders, but a symptom of Bethesda's ever less sophisticated development, as the team splinters and the game ages poorly due to attrition and a lack of direction.
If it's FREE, then Bethesda will fix it soon. 😆
