  • Welcome to our video on the Porsche 911 GT3 and all the Limited Edition Porsches! We all were led to believe the 911R 991 was the last Manual GT3 4.0 LTR, but they carried on and even the 718 Spider RS etc has a 500 BHP 4 Litre engine!
Could Overs now be Over! Certainly for some GT Models

What a great video insight. I owned a 991.2 GT3, after a string of non gt cars like 996 c4s, 997 GTS and 991.1 GTS and was the best car I’ve ever owned for track and road use. I bought the car used with a few hundred miles on once the initial premiums had dropped, sold four years later for £10k less, after 10k of pure fun. I’ve tried the 992 GT3 and dpfound it way too hard for the road, so ordered a Boxster 4.0 GTS 18 months ago which arrives next month, to me a fantastic toad focused Porsche, for reasonable money and with the 4.0 engine, in my mind better than the spider which is now too firm (gt4) and made in lower numbers than the gt4 and spiders. There are more 992 gt3 for sale than carrera, hence the prices are as you say falling. The 991 touring gt3 is a great call, seen them come off to £180k, which looks good value

Invest in Real Estate - A GT3 Touring Manual should be driven and enjoyed. I’m not saving mine for the next guy - I’m 62 years old - on my 7th 911 (992 GT3 Touring Manual). Unless you can let me borrow your Time Machine and I can go back to being 25 years old again , then I might wait for a better deal. Drive her like it’s your last day on earth. Just my 2 cents …

Fairly sure the ST does have the same engine as the 992 GT3 RS
The Dakar has the 3.0 ltr twin turbo from the 992 GTS

I used to own a 997S but always wanted a GT3 RS ever since i saw a GT car as a kid. I could just about scrape the money together for a new one. Trying to secure an allocation for a new car was near impossible at Porsche dealers. I certainly wasn't buying as an investor, just a Porsche enthusiast. I couldn't afford the overs on a GT3 or RS on a 2nd hand car. It seems to me at least, you have to either be an extremely good customer with Porsche or in the right circles to secure an allocation on a new car. Great cars, but only for the lucky few.

You so right, you can’t make so many and expect them to be an overs market!
It’s more democratic, it mean you have more of a chance to actually own and drive one
Porsche don’t make any more themselves so prob not too worried about the overs market not being there, ok investors will quit the market but that’s not really a bad thing really, you just don’t want drastic depreciation and there as great cars they are you won’t get that really just a slow depreciation curve then an uplift if they get coverted in future, but let’s be honest most of the time the newer car is probably (not always) a better car though they get it right most of the time

The 56 UK Tourings must have all been RHD plus the ones that went to the other RHD countries. I know it is a category of a category and we aren't even talking PTS which I understand the UK Tourings did not have as an option but the other markets did.

I paid $40,000 over msrp and I will likely lose some money someday - but time is my problem at 71 and not money. Cars are not all about money. If you are borrowing money to buy a GT3 at 30 years old on the minimal down payment your just stupid. These toys are for guys that money is not that critical. So I lose $50,000 on this new 2024 GT3 - I lose or make three times that somedays in my portfolio as the stock market fluctuates. And when it goes down that isn’t all that entertaining. My kids can inherit cars rather than cash or stocks. My grandkids can likely sell it for a lot more than I paid someday when they are 50 years old.
