  • I kindly had the invitation to drive the new Porsche 992 GT3 Touring from VVS UK. I thought I would take the opportunity to benchmark the new CTR Vantage 4.7s. I was a bit concerned as I have only just finished the dynamics of the car but you will see in the video how we have done!
    Car Specs
    CTR Aston Vantage 2016 4.7s - 460 BHP - 1524kg - 0-60 TBA - Continental 7 tyres
    Porsche GT3 Touring 2023 4.0 - 503 BHP - 1509kg - 0-60 3.3 - Michelin 4s tyres
Looking forward to bringing you more content on the CTR Vantage all the ups and downs but we are really creating an awesome car.
Please comment on what you think so far 🙏

Interesting comments ! Your Aston Martin does sound great, a wonderful old school masterpiece. It would have been super to compare the two cars on twisties or mountain roads (maybe that is where the 992 GT3 Touring really comes to life, especially with the manual gearbox). But you’ve considerably improved your Aston Martin, whereas the Porsche GT3 Touring is strictly stock. For nostalgia’s sake, I would probably fall for your car, but being a 911 lover (and owner), your guess is as good as mine ! Anyway, thanks for the great comparison, and wish you many thrills to come with your sonorous V8 Aston Martin 😎

Gotta love how an old modified car can surpass the new stuff on several levels.

Nice comparison! The latest version of the 911 T comes with a shortened gear shift lever.

Honestly as this video started I was thinking the GT3 is going to walk this. But got to say that V8 engine sounds absolutely tremendous! Reminds me of P1 CTR for the noise but even more pronounced. I’d love to drive this 4.7 and feel the differences especially with the suspension.

I was thinking the same as the Aston is 2005 designed car but suspension was double wishbone and is certainly has the sound 👏 Have a drive next time you are down. When I shoot the 22b v Evo video

biggest difference from the cars…. The vantage you get in, the 911 you strap it on an it feels like an extension of you

The Aston is very good - the best Recaros and weight reduction really make you feel part of the car 👏

A lot of people have mentioned the colour. I originally ordered it in silver but this was soon after the DB11 had gone into full production and they had reserved all the silver paint for those, so the dealer told me that if i still wanted it in silver the car would be delayed by months. Had another look at the colours in the dealership and went with the midnight blue.

But i didnt see any corners taken, also put narrower tires on the gt3 if u really wanna drive it.

@@Challengetheroad no, I dont have a GT3 but ive done it with other rwd cars and its way more fun to drive lets you actually play with the car. Even chris harris is running 20mm narrower tires and less sticky tires on his GT3.

Sooo, bloke builds AM, pits it against an GT3 Touring and concludes he likes his car more? Not sure it’s an impartial review mate. AM sounds amazing, but my (much older) V8 Vantage was a bit agricultural compared to any 911. But your Vantage is easily the nicest I have seen. Fantastic.

I need more time in the GT3! But hopefully VVS are lending it to me for another challenge. Be good for you to drive my Vantage it really does drive so well 👏
