Great video ! Mine was delivered in August , having sold my 2018 RS4 for £40k . The M3 came to about £93k , no carbon or sports seats . My head said it was too much but obviously I listened to my heart . Initially I was a bit underwhelmed as it didn't seem like a big improvement on the Audi . After the 1200 mile service it started to liven up and I set up the M buttons , it became a different car . I have never driven an estate car that attacks a B road like this one and have totally fallen in love with it ! I think there was quite a lot of pent up demand initially and people definitely bought them to flip them . There were a few very highly specced ones on for £110k plus ,around in Spring . I haven't seen that many on the road , which probably confirms what you are saying . No doubt they will be offered at £75k next year and a great purchase at that level !
Went to BMW Experience to drive the M3 on track. It became a very expensive day 😊, started looking to buy my own M3 Touring in May but didnt order. MSRP went up in June, lost some momentum. Heard new MSRP was coming 1 Jan 2024 so I place order in end of December. Got in the contract to be able to change to facelift during waiting time. But i know what will happen in Juni with facelift. New MSRP. Also got 13% discount due to corporate buy, so I pay less for my car then the one advertised on the used market. For me its hard to time the market, just look with the electric cars. Who could have guessed 2 years ago that the used EVs will be ice cold 2024. So just buy, drive, enjoy and be happy 🤟🏼
July 2024 production starts for the LCI M3 there will be very little changes and Laser lights is gone and replaced with Matrix Led. I personal dont like the new DRLs. M4 LCI is in March 2024. Picture of the camo M3 front have the carbon pack you can order today so nearly none changes at all.
The time for one of these was back then (holding for a sensible amount of time) & later on… clear as day on how the M3 Touring success will be skimmed across the market with variants and packages. Everyone I have met that owns one loves it exponentially!
I owned an M3 RWD G80 from new with ultimate pack until last September, which was / is a stunning motor and now im mad keen on an M3 Touring. Only this time round, Im not too fussed about the ultimate pack. Worked and looked a treat on the M3 with the drama bristling from those bucket seats, however this time I plan on keeping the touring longer and for more family orientated scenarios. Besides, the wife hated getting in and out of the seats. 😄So the standard sports seats will be more than ample for this. Also, having taken a large hit price wise on selling the M3, have decided this time go nearly new with the touring and am currently keeping my eye on the touring market. Im hoping to purchase at some point over the next 12 months. Good points re the CS release and midlife refresh too.
You are definitely on the right track here. M3s being mass produced will always depreciate in the first few years of being new and likely further until they reach bottom. F80 M3s are in my opinion the best bargain 4 seater in many years at 35 40k. At near 3500 lbs wet, the F80 with tune, exhaust, and a proper suspension upgrade is one helluva weapon that can still do the school run. Anyone wanting an amazing 4 seat experience try an F80. You wont be disappointed
The seats are a serious love hate situation. When you look at them side by side compared to the sports seats they make the car look so much better. Yes they are a pain getting in and out of and the carbon bit in the middle is pretty annoying. However, once you are in they are really comfortable and they stay that way for a long time. I commute weekly Manchester to London and I get out the other side feeling fresh with no aches or pains when driving my g82, I cant say the same for the seats in my 340d.
I cant get over the front but as you say, that pent up demand is there. Really, I'd love to have a last gen M340i Touring for 6 months and see what I'd actally want to improve. The tuner in my says that having no M tax on parts/maintenance and the less agressive styling would really make it a better ownership experience as the M3 Touring would just be too much for me.
Wish i was in the position to even consider a M3 Touring. I know Calvin car diaries is building a e46 M3 touring. Build a e46 M3 touring or even a e36.
Great video and insight and hadn’t appreciated the face lifted M3 Touring was due so soon. I agree, hold is best option as with the sheer number of cars, reduced demand given economic conditions and PCP so much higher due to interest rates, which aren’t coming down any time soon, there is too much downward pressure on prices. In anyone’s books, £100k for a specced fastback is crazy money. I’ve sat in one at a dealer with the ultimate pack, and the seats as a daily whilst stunning would I think be a pain to get in and out of, so standard seats I think with visibility pack, tech and comfort, not bothered by carbon. Romans Internatiinal, who are pretty good at getting good spec cars in, had a frozen ultimate fir months and could sell it. Enjoy your well informed insight, rare on you tube
In Germany there are not that many and they are overpriced and I think they will go down over time. On the other hand I was also looking for a G80 but to find one which has a spec which I somehow like and includes everything I want is then quite hard (most have the white Silverstone interior and/or the Carbon seats and both is nothing for me). As they already extended the lifetime of the whole model lineup (G2x and G8x) which I think is due to upcoming electrification and another "last" model with non-E version doesn't make sense, they are going through a second refresh while I can imagine that the G81 still runs some more month as it's just one year old. So I would guess its maybe earliest summer/autumn next year when the LCI is coming for the G81. Another reason I'm most probably ordering one now is that I got a very good offer and it's not black or grey like any other used one out there 😛 Maybe there will be some more used ones or orders go down when the M5 Touring is out...who knows.
I wanted a new car in start 2022. Nothing was good value so got Hyundai i20N brand new with warranty. Dealer said their factories were working at 130% capacity to get back to equilibrium. So it’s only next year arguably that balance is restored. Save paying for R&D and producing EVs lol
Hi all, need some advice. I’m about to order a 24 plate as great apr offer and they’ve also reduced £7k off the car. I wasn’t aware of a facelift so is this still happening, and considering reduction / offers, is now a good time to buy?
My friend just bought one on this type of deal! I think its a good time to buy and a great car. They will reduce over time like all non limited edition cars.
Wouldn’t think too much into cs versions Theres only 2 for sale and much rarer People are not getting rid of there touring to upgrade they cant noone can get them and another 30k
A very reputable independent I know said the current m3 is the worst to date. The amount of people selling and the rapid residual decline suggests he’s right. The design is too divisive. I’m in that camp, had 3 m3’s in last 10 yrs, sold my f80 comp few weeks back and couldn’t love the ugly baby g80 so left the model.
The 4.0 v8 M3 manual was my last M3 version and then went back to e46 m3. I am not that sold on the sound of the f80 although I like the looks. They are upgrading the front on the Touring - not a great fan of the front grill.
Dont get one. The G series M3/4 is a dissapointing drive overall. Heavy pig, boring engine with no low end punch, and crappy interior. I had a g82 m4 for 3 months. After 3 weeks i was really annoyed at it...
@@Challengetheroad the G M3/4 is what used to be the F13 M6 albeit with worse interior, sound and suspension (comfort and handling wise). The f80 was also rather crap. The best out of the lot was/is the f3x 335 or 340i. It has great sound, handling and comfort is awesome (you can tune to be more sporty with some parts) and styling / interior quality is proper BMW. I have and had a f36 for 6 and 3 years and also own a e46 m3 as well as had a e93 m3. E93 wasnt bad, prefer 46
@@Challengetheroad high mileage for it’s age with zero options perhaps? If I was to buy a second hand car I would never go for the cheapest option- there always seem to be a catch somewhere that the seller is eager to get rid of it
Agreed stunning car the M3 Touring my boss has one if I had the cash I would buy one
Thanks Nigel, not sure how long I can wait to get one! Interesting the Concept e46 M3 - I assume they did not do it due to it being RWD.

Good Man, always had porsches, got a 911 but always lived the M3, can’t decide weather to swop out for a saloon or a touring! Do a comparison man! 😊
