Well I watched the complete video. I am hoping/planning to buy a used aluminum boat, 14 to 16 feet this winter. I am reading up on the tiller steering and motor care. Everything you pointed out has been a huge help. Thank you from an absolute beginner

Thanks again for these videos. Your "all the maintenance" video was pretty helpful to me yesterday and today. Saturday morning i took my boat down to the river for the first time, and 30s after trying to launch, i dropped the motor into the river when i didn't have it locked down on the transom. Some local Ozark folks at the ramp put in a lot of time with me to help me get the motor off the bottom of the river and showed me the basics of drying the plug & draining the bowl. It took me most of today to get it sorted but it's running again! The trick was the information you showed about how the carb works, i used that knowledge to drain the watery gas out of the fuel pump. After i siphoned the tank empty and flushed the fuel selector valve with fresh fuel, i had to choke / pull / drain the bowl like five times. Oh that's not to mention changing the oil 3 or 4 times.

Sorry that happened, crazy stuff happens sometime. Sounds like you did everything right and you got a good story!! Good luck with it, but it sounds like it’s back in perfect shape

I just recently found about buoy's. I was looking into getting my boating license even though I don't need one for the boating I do. The other thing I have been looking into, GPS after having a heart attack last year my wife doesn't like it when I go out by myself anymore. Never thought about a ladder. I paid $500 for my 14' Jon with trailer but my wife says after 5 years i got 3 times that much in it😂 Lots of great information, great video!

Thanks again for all the support! Yeah I know what you mean, I’ve got $1000 total in my setup and easily got 3x that much fun out of it the last 4 years. I have friends that go hiking by themselves and they have a gps almost like a life alert if they get into trouble. They love it

Yeah it’s getting hard to find here. I switched and use a fuel stabilizer which also is an ethanol treatment

i have changed the spark plugs on my boat. changed my fuel lines. i am getting a spark. good compression. still my motor will do nothing but turn over. doesn’t even act like it wants to fire up. i have even sprayed a little starting fluid in my spark plug hole and my carb. what else could my issue be?
