I missed the dark mood and RPG-like progression of Bioshock 1 and 2. Looks like this recaptures that, looking forward to it.

Don't forget this is how he is. Big promises with big cuts near the end of production.

What people don't understand is that there are those that work in the industry as a worker Bee and then there are those who are creative perfectionists... that's LeVine.
And while most of the rest of the industry settles for mediocrity LeVine steps in and is going to drop a nuke on the Industry kind of like what BG3 just did.
Modern gaming blows and it's because nothing has heart anymore. LeVine is cut from a different cloth whether you like him or not.

@@RexSonic Infinite was really good but check out the video of Crowbcat where people discuss the cut content and what Infinite should be, It will open your mind, but this time Levine is indipendend ,he's in no rush to release the game so I'm more confident. Actually that video (the Bioshock Infinite we never got) tells that Levine idea of JUDAS was meant to be in Infinite but 2K pushed them to crunch time.
Bioshock is one of the greatest games ever. So pumped for this. Don’t let me down Kenny!
Bioshock is in my top 3 ever. Truly an experience in HS. Been waiting for Kens return. Judas will be amazing.

@@trashpanda2481 the main NPC trio is a boomer Eisenhower republican who has used the phrase "I don't see colour" before, a gen x neoliberal girlboss hillary voter and a depressed millennial having to deal with her friend group falling apart as people move away for jobs in other cities or so they can have their kids in suburbia.
Man the game looks good! Loved BioShock and this has a similar vibe, with Ken Levine in the directors seat. Should be a good game 😊

An underground colony. A hidden city high in the mountains. An alien planet or dimension.

I am a Japanese fan of the BioShock franchise and have been waiting for this game since I completed burial at sea part 2.
The worlds Ken Levine creates are full of originality and interesting themes.
This looks like a masterpiece in the making.
I’m looking forward to this new Bioshock like game. I’m a huge fan of Bioshock and seeing the guy who created Bioshock bring a new world, with similar gameplay to Bioshock excites me about this game :3

The last time the Irrational Games logo flashed up at the end of Burial at Sea episode 2, I told myself I'd trust Ken Levine with whatever he did next. It's been a very long time since then, but I'm still going to.
Looks exciting. I like the concept about keeping Tom, Nefertiti and Hope balanced because each character could potentially help or sabotage you during a mission like at 5:40.

Granted there’s a small amount of clips showed but I’m worried if we are fighting robots the whole time. As scary as a big daddy is, a couple of spider slicers were terrifying! I want to bash bad guys with that cool ass hammer you showed lol.
Couldn't be more excited for a game. When I think of my all time favorite video games Bio Shock is one of the first that come to mind.

Ken definitely listened to the criticism of Bioshock Infinite to emphasize level design for Judas. Level design is easily the most important factor of immersion and that’s what made the first 2 Bioshock games so immersive. World building and atmosphere is probably second which was the saving grace for Infinite

I remember asking you during your Q&A streams about what interesting innovations we should look out for and you immediately linked me the GDC talk of Ken Levine's narrative lego's. Awesome to see the wait paying off and you covering it. The age of game authors is very exciting!
Respect Geoff for Shout Out to Ken and his new project, i exciting and anticipated his narrative lego 11 years after Infinite and this is finally revealed, its just crazy to me and i find another thing facinating - Ken do "Constant and Variables" theme in BI and after "Choice with Non Choice" he is doing All over the place choices after choices and do something no one will done, he is passion about narrative lego concept since gdc talk back in the day and still push this unique approach, damn.. He is probably 1 of the underrated mastermind in gaming industry still and i just glad he is still making his project because he is unique and 1 of the last western master gamedesigners we have. Its remarkable that Levine still want to create something new, like true indie dev.. and he is back to his origin - in space with System Shock. Bioshock 4 is pointless without Ken, this is what we need to wait and play, good luck with this hard project to deliver with team and Ken Levine, hype !

Listen, I understand people are worried about AI in artistic mediums, but I really hope we get games where the CPUs can literally react to your actions in a believable way depending upon what you're doing. Imagine AI that can say anything because their voice is AI generated. They can behave realistically based upon what you do in the game world. Imagine being able to ask a character anything, and they will answer based upon what they know.

Somehow what was shared about the plot in this video reminds me of Far Cry 5 😅 (the 3 antagonists)

its nice hearing geoff be wholly genuine when talking about a game. a lot of the time during his award shows he has to do ad reads or introduce something that pays the bills but nobody actually cares about, so an absence of that is welcome.

No, Bioshock in space is called Systemshock... or PREY if you want a more modern title. I'll believe this whole infinite dialogue narrative thing when I see it for myself. Not gonna fall for a bit of hype right now.
