    @KevyWhit 7 лет назад +40

    I don't get why so many people don't like Mitch. He's accurate, athletic, has good size, goes through his reads, and he's got grit. The only real knocks against him are he didn't play pro style and he has limited starter experience.
    I think he'd benefit from studying under a vet QB for a year so.he could get used to NFL concepts and speed. but I don't think he's a bad pick at anyspot.

    • @8MoneyIzmyMission8
      @8MoneyIzmyMission8 7 лет назад +1

      Kevin Whitter The problem people have, I am one of them, is drafting these guys so damn high when nothing warrants it. I don't hate any of the QBs, but none are top 10 worthy picks IMO.

    • @KevyWhit
      @KevyWhit 7 лет назад

      8MoneyIzmyMission8 I agree that not should be top 10 picks. I think all these QBs would benefit from being understudies first. The worst thing to happen to any of them is for them to.be handed the reins of a team day one. I think this is the perfect QB draft for teams like the Saints, Steelers, Giants, Cardinals, and Chargers because they are all teams with good QBs nearing the end of their careers. I'm a Giants fan and even I am starting to like the idea of grabbing any of Trubisky, Watson, or Mahomes to learn under Eli for a season or two before taking over ala Favre and Rodgers.

    I would definitely draft Trubisky over any of the alternatives in this draft, and would go as far as to say that in the right system he can be among the very best QB's in the league. He checks all of the boxes with regards to physical and arm skills, has above-average mobility, and has very good to great ball placement. He also has excellent football IQ and is extremely hard working - the learning curve for him won't be as steep as many are suggesting, and IMO he's capable of learning the things he doesn't already know which isn't something I can say about Watson/Kizer/Mahomes for a variety of reasons.
    Ideally, he's going to go to a team that likes to run a variety of formations and likes to threaten the center of the field using seam routes with the tight end such as the Chargers with Gates/Henry or the Saints when Jimmy Graham was tearing it up. Trubisky can succeed early even in complex systems if he lands on a team with an established threat at that position.
    Conversely, teams such as San Francisco, New York and Jacksonville which all have head coaches or systems in place that are run-centric and ask for the QB to line up under center the majority of the time along with effectively using play-action don't seem like ideal landing spots.

    While he needs some work on his footwork and pocket presence his O-line was absolutely atrocious. He walked into a few sacks while there but that O-line did him no favors all season. On the flip side his receivers performed well. In most drafts I would say he would be a late 1st/early 2nd round prospect but we know this year he'll go early. Put in the right situation I could see him developing into a pro bowl QB. I see a guy that could be a good fit in SF where Shanahan could take his time developing him. I wouldn't start him year 1 though unless he forced the issue with his play.

      @@heheheheehehehe4416 Mitch is accurate. He is not the most accurate but he is accurate. the problem with trubisky which is what i saw in college is his indecisiveness. He hesitates and lacks conviction in his throws. On the other hand, other QBs don't lack conviction like Watson and Mahomes. This is why Watson could get away with throwing into double coverage (a lot) because he believes and does not hesitate. Also, to me, it's not the mechanics that makes or brakes a good player, but it's the confidence in his own respective abilities that gets the job done.

Or does being in the system surrounded by great players make you better? Unquestionably, you have to be discerning with Alabama players, as well as OSU and clemson and every ther power program.
      What you can say is watson plays well under the lights. He doesn't shy away from media or attention and he's got 0 character issues. But let's not pretend he carried the team.

Hell even look at who's running the show. Look at Depodesta first who highly favors guys who are low risk and have experience. During his time in baseball he wouldn't take guys from high school but guys who had 2+ years starting in college. Then look at Shashi who is the same way in looking at guys who are low risk.
