    Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa
    Junior 6’1 218 lbs
Tua Tagovailoa came to Alabama as a 5-star recruit & ended his true Freshman season leading the Crimson Tide to a National Championship. He came up short as a Sophomore & was having arguably his best season in 2019, but suffered a season-ending hip injury.
Throughout his career, Tua was one of the best players in all of college football. He throws a beautiful deep ball & is arguably the best at throwing slants. Overall, he might be the best QB Alabama has ever had.

He's still super dynamic tho, and can be mobile when he needs to, but I think he chooses not to run unless it's necessary just to prevent further injury. Even still, you see him make so many moves in the pocket. He reminds me of a more dynamic version of Brees

@@Yes-gc9vr Yeah, he ran around all day vs. LSU. He fumbled by himself and threw a crucial interception. He had another pass that should have been a pick 6 but was dropped. Tua was hurt every year he played and the injuries became more severe each year.
Hell the only time Tua limped against LSU was when the game was over and he was putting on an act for the camera.
He was playing for sympathy and trying to get Bama in the back door for the playoffs again. Oops! Then Mississippi State happened and Tua had a real injury to contend with. Karma is a bitch.

I also am pretty sure, Tua will still be a top 10 pick. Sure, he could've come back and stayed healthy. But I think it was more likely, he'd get hurt again and push him to a day 2 pick.
Plus, I think he'd just be the #2 guy next year behind Lawrence. We all know he's gonna kill the interviews, with his character. As long as he's hood on the white board, he'll just have to pray..... That medical egg, doesn't doom him. So, going from a #6ish overall to a #2 overall isn't that much improvement. Just imagine if Tua had started his entire Freshman season. It's true that while Jalen was the starter they only lost to Auburn in 2017, but I can't help but think if Tua was the starter the entire season they would have been undefeated. I may be wrong but I believe Saban wasn't about to bench Jalen, mainly because how he had played starting with the USCw game in '16, so Saban probably felt he owed it to Jalen. Jalen just couldn't make anything happen in the NC game vs Georgia and Saban finally pulled the trigger, we all know what happened next.
Tua has 87 td passes and 96 if you add Tua's rushing TD's. It's hard for me to imagine how many more he would have if he started as a Freshman, assuming of course he stayed healthy. I just don't think many give credit to how much of an affect the dislocated hip & pelvis fracture had on Tua. It isn't an excuse, just simple fact. As I understand it, he was effectively confined to a bed for 3 months to allow the initial bone fracture and dislocation to heal. Just think how much basic core strength would disappear if you were told to stay in bed all day and limit your movements. The body is very efficient, if something isn't being used it gets broken down. The video of Tua's movement before the daft, was all well and good, but again it wasn't showing actual strength & stamina............. He shouldn't of been playing at all last season, physically he wasn't ready. Throwing/Arm strength comes from the feet & body core, no wonder he it didn't seem like he had much zip & distance...... I think the Dolphins put him in to see if he could survive in the NFL (which he did) & whether there was long term effects from the injury (otherwise they'd have to draft an alternative)................ These highlights, show Tua has a decent arm, zip & can throw off-step. He is clearly hitting the weights & building his body & leg strength back to true professional athletic levels. Tua will be very good this coming season.
