Thanks, I figured I better get in there with that comment before one of you guys did😆. Thanks for following along and taking the time to comment, I really do appreciate it😎👍
I am loving this build Terry. I look at those rust holes and cringe. You just say “that’ll be easy to fix”. You are doing a great job. Can’t wait to see your dream come alive.
Nice one mate, enjoy. Mines pretty mindless and easy watching, right up my alley in fact! Thanks for watching and commenting, I sincerely appreciate it 😎👍
Thank you mate, I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to comment. I’m enjoying the build and positive sentiment like this just helps spur me on. Cheers😎👍
Good job mate, gr8 vid, like what ur doing, it is in a pretty decent state to start with, but still a lot of work, but Im sure it will be beautiful when ur done. I have a hj45 with a nice original motor but a shit load more rust, I’d love to do a full resto on it, but I dont think I am up for going that far now days with what else I have on my plate. While I do like the idea of a clean stock resto & they’re possibly worth more later, It’s pretty hard to stuff up an old Toyota no matter what u do to them, they all look good! Look forward to bingin ur vids. Cheers
Starting to look interesting Terry, I helped a mate do a ground up rebuild of a 40 shorty years ago. We put a 351 and 4 speed top loader in it, what a weapon. Yours should be even better. Cheers Steve
That sounds like an excellent rig, and you no doubt would have had a blast doing that one Steve. I’m enjoying this build very much, thanks for the inspiring words Steve, I sincerely appreciate it 😎👍
Hey mate, love to see a detailed build like this! Just out of curiosity, if you don't mind me asking, what did the blast/spray of the cab cost you? Currently in the process of finding a sandblaster for my 45. Cheers
Thanks for watching Ollie, I sincerely appreciate it. I can’t remember the exact cost but it was between $1,500 and $2,000. That was blasting the tub, bonnet, roof, back panel guards and the chassis, and then shooting it all with an epoxy primer. I did not need the doors blasted as mine are toast and will need replacing. The details of the blast mob that did mine are in the video, it’s the same guys that Mr Landcrusier use. Cheers👍😎
45 bloody degrees!! Are you serious? Where did you say you lived? Coober Pedy central? I’m definitely not coming to visit right now. Maybe July. 😂😂. I’m in Gippsland where it’s a balmy 23. The builds coming along nicely Terry. Keep’em coming! 👍 Eggcellent!
Deadly serious David. It was 39 that day and the shed is usually 5 or 6 degrees hotter than the outside temp. I actually when down with a little heat stroke that day, it was not pretty. 23 degrees in Gippsland? Sweet sweet cool air. Bring on winter! Thanks for following along and comment David, I sincerely appreciate it 😎👍
Lots of hard work involved there Terry but I'm sure it will all be worth it. Feel free to ignore me if you wish but I noticed you were using your angle grinder without its guard. I mention this only because I have personal experience of what can happen if it all goes wrong. I had a cousin who was doing the same thing. Disc shattered and a piece hit him in the neck and he bled out. A friend was also using one, again without a guard, when it bucked and tore through his foot. Naturally he was wearing a pair of great Aussie workboots at the time. Be careful mate. Those things are dangerous at the best of times and without a guard they can be deadly.
Thanks for watching and commenting Steve, I sincerely appreciate it. You’re comments re the guards are very true and I should be more mindful of that, not so much for my own safety (which it would help of course) but more for potential impressionable viewers. Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow! Cheers😎👍
Well I'm excited to see how she comes along slowly.... I know Patriots are in the process of restoring one too but this is the one I look forward to seeing once it's finished. I'm sure Justin will be very hands off and get everyone else to do it while it's just you by yourself (for the most part). If it were me, I would try and keep it as original as possible and drop the idea of the 79 scoop on the bonnet... but you're the one restoring her and ultimately it is your choice. Have you seen "Elsie" on Overland Travellers? BTW..... what have you got hiding under that car cover?
Thanks for following along and for your comments mate, I sincerely appreciate it. I did see the Patriot guys doing one but as you say, it will probably be very hands off. I’m sure it will be top shelf, but I prefer backyard guys as that is the stuff that’s within reach of the common humanoid. The Patriot boys or Jas and Simon are in a different league to me I’m afraid. I hear ya about keeping it close to original. That’s the beauty of these projects, everyone’s taste is a little bit different. Definitely going full restomod on this one mate, but it will be tasteful (in my humble opinion). I have seen Elsie yes, looks like an excellent tourer. I like that channel but they are really walking a fine line on the sponsorship front. I don’t know why that subject gets me offside so much, but it really does. Maybe I need a therapist🤔😂. Under the cover is a Candy Apple Red 1957 Chev with a twin turbo V8. Took me 8 years to build that one from the ground up. It’s a weapon😎👍
Just starting my own build, previous owner has sandblasyed chassis and body and painted. I'm hoping the engine can be saved, would love to keep it original. What was your reason for the engine you chose?
Great to see another 40 coming back to life James, just awesome mate. Wether stock or modified, it’s all cool in my book. I have owned a ZL1 Camaro and a Maloo R8 Ute both with the LSA motor and I loved it. I’ve been a gear head all my life and V8’s are in my blood. I have probably only got another 20 years left on the planet and want to fuel this passion until they cover me up. No compromises! Thanks for watching and comment James, I sincerely appreciate it.😎👍
Sorry Ray, I would not have a clue mate, that’s well above my pay grade. I can tell you what I had for breakfast 😂. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than me will read this comment and answer for you. Cheers😎👍
Yes indeed. It’s funny how a job like this always gets bigger than it looks before you start out! Oh well, it’s not my first rodeo so it’s all good. How do you eat an elephant, one bit at a time! Thanks for watching and commenting mate, I sincerely appreciate it 😎👍
Gday Mate,
I got myself one of these a few weeks back and have been taking it apart. Watched this video so many times!
Thanks heaps
That’s awesome Tim, I’m so glad it was useful to you. There’s heaps more in the library if your interested mate. Either way, go well mate👍😎
Super handy just started with a hj47 appreciate the video!
Good stuff mate, enjoy the restoration journey. I’m still going with mine👍😎
I’m really invested into this build. Keep up the good videos
Thanks for your comment and encouraging words, I sincerely appreciate it. I’ll keep fighting the good fight😎👍
Such a positive comment. ❤

Awesome. Love it when my two favourite Cannukistani utubers each drop a vid on the same day. Terry Jaffa and AvE and a quiet beer in the afternoon.

@@JafffaAdventures sorry, I guess you are more Aussie than Canadian these days but the quality remains the same.

Brilliant video Terry. Really enjoying how this resto project is coming together.

Hey Terry. Nice to see the new "JAFFFA" Adventures mascot making an appearance. She's coming along nicely. Looking forward to seeing more of her mate.
Thanks Max, I’m really enjoying the project. Now back out to the shed for me!! Cheers😎👍

@@DiHandley No, I think he was only in his 30s or early 40s when it happened.

great work loving the build but a dunger ls

Hi Terry
What is the sideways brake booster looking thingy?
It was in fact a brake booster. I’m not sure what the original owner was thinking, but it’s in the bin now👍😎
@@JafffaAdventures ahh… not stock then…I’m fixing up a 78 BJ40. YoUr videos have been a great help.

How long does it take to dismantle the when truck?
They are very easy to pull apart. If you don’t have to deal with a lot of rusty bolts, you can have the whole vehicle disassembled in a day. Cheers 😎👍
Can you buy new wiring harnesses Terry?
I’m not sure mate as I have not got to that stage yet. It would surprise me if you could not. Cheers😎👍
