  • The Master of Masters is willing to go to great lengths to put an end to the darkness. I want to speculate about what he might be willing to do to achieve that.

Something I just thought about is how when Vanitas is extracted and it leaves Ventus comatose, Ventus had to rest inside Sora's heart in order to survive. So... is it possible the guardians will be used in some way for this? People have pointed out the similarities between the Foretellers and some of the guardians for years, so I wonder if that'll be played on at all in some way. Regardless, this conflict between the Master and the Darkness seems to have a lot of moving pieces to it. What's your thoughts on this?

    • @edgeofultima7483
      @edgeofultima7483 3 года назад +5

It's very interesting, but it just also made me realize that the darknesses must not originally have hearts of their own, so when Xehanort ripped Vanitas out of Ventus and left him with half a heart, that means that Vanitas started claiming pieces of Ven's heart as his own over time. Therefore, since the foretellers have had the darkness longer than Ventus did, their original selves might not even be left by the time we get around to them.

I think the reason why the Master of Masters is so focused on making a world where no darkness can reach, is because after he gets that world ready he might plan on destroying the old world with the darknesses trapped inside of it. His plan could be to completely seal off all darkness for all of eternity, seeing how the player character does something similar in the UX finally and the darkness clearly feared the possibility enough to take desperate action. That might be how one manages to beat the darkness, by sealing it off completely.
But as you said, he is going to most likely be the antagonist. I think the idea that the master of masters destroying the world to annihilate darkness plays in perfectly with the likely hood of Sora and the others, including the masters, start to see the perspective of the darkness more clearly. AFter all, Riku has accepted both the light and the darkness and yet I can't say anyone would call him "evil" or even weak. It's why I earnestly feel like Riku is easily as much if not even more important than sora.
Heck even from their portrayal in UX the darkness didn't really seem evil to me. It felt afraid, confused, and cornered. It can't exist without people, but people keep ignoring it and refusing it. They keep portraying the darkness as being on the verge of victory but i really feel like it is the opposite. I think the darkness is losing, *badly* at that, and is now trying to make it's final stand against what is currently an all but inevitable fate. People jjust haven't opened their eyes to that idea, and so the simply percieve as the darkness doing what the darkness does.

Exactly. In physics there are three types of matter: regular matter, anti-matter and dark matter. Remove one (say dark matter or anti-matter) and the universe collapses. So darkness could work the same way: a part of the universe in order to continue to function. The MoM’s plan will just end in the destruction of all life because without darkness there can be no light.

  • @motionisdead9796
    @motionisdead9796 3 года назад +11

I've wanted to give a shot on cracking this, and I've came up with this idea.
Namely....I still think that the Master of Masters did not tell us the full extent of his plan.
The manifestations of the XIII Darknesses are conscious, and separately sentient yet linked to the force of the Darkness itself, if I understand correctly.
If so, then it's safe to say that the reason why those XIII Darknesses exist is because they act onto Darkness's instinct of wanting to swallow everything, or as one of the XIII Darknesses said, to expand.
That's pretty huge, because if we consider Xehanort's words to be true, then Darkness was the 1st force to ever exist, just like the dozens of myths that use "cratio ex nihilo" i.e creation from nothing as an explanation of how something came out of nothing.
Xehanort states that Light came from Darkness, that Kingdom Hearts is the First Light. Not only that, cause when Xehanorts opens Kingdom Hearts, he says "The χ-blade is complete. Kingdom Hearts! I call upon your true form. Open now and show me the World to come" after which Kingdom Hearts' hue changes from gold/yellow to dark violet(which is often associated with Darkness).
This points me out that if the Light really came out of Darkness, Kingdom Hearts itself is in nature, a mix of Light and Dark. If Darkness represents stagnation and lack of life, then bringing Light into this stagnant world would provoke Darkness to clash with it, and therefore create Life. Create hearts.
Darkness selfishness here is like a good equivalent to Freudian concept of Id, which follows the instinct. On the other hand, Light seems to be more of a superego, which is responsible for forming a judgement based on comparing the individual's desires(self-fulfillement) and the limits that the World imposes on it.
    Going further.
If what Xehanort said is true, then the reason why the conflict between Light and Darkness still exists is because the balance is what's necessary to sustain life.
This is the point, where Masters' intention to defeat Darkness is getting unclear. He mentioned stuff about defeating them, but not exactly how. How will this affect the World in general? Is he only planning to defeat the XIII Darknesses, or somehow erase the force of Darkness itself?
The more bizarre thing is also that the Master didn't really mention using Kingdom Hearts in any way, and we've seen him doing the heart symbol with the Moon in the background, in Quadratum. I think this is hella indicative of something too.
So my idea of what his real plan is, comes from dissecting the motive of a King in Kingdom Hearts, as well as the video of Sonny Novus, where he compares the Master of Masters to Ardyn Lucis Caelum.
The first thing that comes to my mind, when I hear the title of a "King" is "representative" -- and that is exactly what a King was. But a King, or rather any representative of people is usually portrayed as someone that is supposed to handle responsibility of bringing prosperity to the people. That is because deep down people themselves know, that they don't have the capacity to lead, cause knowledge-wise, there's a huge amount of factors to consider to organize people in a way that wouldn't spark conflict. After all, people are afraid of the conflict, because through conflict you can be stripped from what you care about i.e posessions, and even your own life.
With that comes the limit of what a single person can do. What number, and kind of people a representative needs to build a functioning system. And what to do to avoid being dethroned by the very people that you a representative puts their trust in.
As a monarch, you're stuck between being fucked over/manipulated by advisers, or put to shame and beheaded by your people. You're a sacrifice.
So I think that since Sora bears the title of a King, per the prophecy of "One Sky, One Destiny" -- he is someone that is going to be sacrificed.
Sora's heart is special, because it was shown that he had 3 hearts in him, and even healed Ventus' fractured heart, which was one of them. If we consider that the Master knows about Sora, and put this whole show to lure him and also the XIII Darknesses to Quadratum, then it's becoming clearer to me.
I think it's highly possibly the Master will try to transfer the XIII Darknesses and VII Lights into Sora's Heart, and either purify/put those forces under control(which would make Sora a pernament tool for controlling those 2 forces), or kill Sora alongside those XIII Darknesses.
The first option of "controlling Light and Darkness" would be closer to Ardyn's plan of using thew Etro's Gate to reclaim his divinity, something that Sonny Novus mentioned could be the same with the Master and Kingdom Hearts.
That'd create a pretty cool conflict of a Light-biased antagonist(the Master) and Sora, which I assume would fight to balance the Darkness and Light; cause Nomura seems to push him towards it, by what he said to Xehanort after the final battle in base KH3. Sora said that a "true leader knows that destiny is beyond his control, and accepts that" -- a node to how Light and Darkness, the two forces that lead destiny need remain untouched. Count that in with the whole Double Form and Final Form aesthetic he has, and it connects rather well.

Mom Utimate goal, I think, is to transfer the Imaginary World (Fiction) onto the Verse Kingdom Hearts. He references the The World of Daybreak as a Book, and new Books ( the Disney fairytales). He want to link a Book (Verse) where Darkness isn't the same force to the Kingdom Hearts, changing how Kingdom Hearts works.

I watched the Sonny Novus theory about MoM connected to "leaked FFV13 Ardyn". It's interesting, but Ardyn's reason to open Etro's Gate is kinda weird, which will not aligned with FF13 series, Type-0 and Fabula lore. I mean, the reason someone wants to open Etro's Gate are:
      1. To kill Goddess Etro (Death and Darkness) and create a New World without Etro. This was God Bhunivelze's main mission, which he gave to 2 Gods he created: God Pulse and God Lindzei. God Bhunivelze then disappeared to sleep (original Somnus was Bhunivelze's song). This is the main lore, the one that FFV13 was supposed to use.
      2. To awaken God Bhunivelze (God of Light) who "sleeps" inside the sea of chaos after Lightning slapped him for real (tied to events in FF13LR and Type-0). Idk if FFV13 was supposed to continue from this, no one really knows.
If we're going to go full metal here by using Fabula lore (since Nomura already did), MoM feels like Etro and at times Bhunivelze. The No Name sword with his eye seeing the future, is similar to Eyes of Etro somewhat. In Union X, Darkness said to MoM "we're friends" which was reeeaaallly weird too, as if hinting he is also "darkness". Though, his determination to remove Darkness is like Bhunivelze. Using apprentices only for his own goal is "heartless" like Bhunivelze.
I like to think MoM could be a "light" being, buuuuutttt Idk anymore lol. Nomura could go crazy again and suddenly MoM is Jim Hawkins from Treasure Planet. 🤣🤣👌

The dark inferno is destroyed, and ventitas is destroyed in the most recent keyblade war. That merely leaves the darkness that returned to the future with maleficent in kh2. I've created a new theory based off the conclusion:
Remember that the Darkness said Ventus is the chosen child who was supposed to be possessed. I think the Darkness that was supposed to possess the Master is what possessed Ventus. Maybe the process of when he changed bodies (like we've seen Luxu do) let that darkness out of the Master and so thats what happened. And Xehanort being revealed as the player, maybe his "heart" remembered what it was like being possessed by the darkness. As a result, he ripped the darkness out of Ventus because "Ventus wasn't strong enough to control and use it" so the Darkness was controlling him. After all remember the Darkness that possessed Ventus was strong enough to overpower him several times and killed Strelitza.
We also saw the Darkness take Ava's form at one point. Perhaps the Darkness were to possess them at various different points. So when Ava felt despair of the master's plan, thats when her darkness took hold and possessed her.
We then also have Lauriam and Elrena who were experiencing Despair that Ven killed Streliza and was allowed to live. Perhaps darkness took a hold inside of them. This also helps attribute to their hatred of Sora.

What do you think of these ideas?:
    - Strelitzia being the replacement for Ava amongst the MoM’s ranks, as I imagine if he’s not going to extract the darknesses then he wants 13 pure hearted people (used as containers for the darknesses) to be killed, and maybe by the end of it he extracts his own Darkness as it’s the last one remaining and should be very weak from what we know now.
And then another idea correlates to Dark Road and its connection to the end of UX. I’m getting vibes that since the Player became Xehanort (I don’t believe Player’s soul is fully active in Xehanort as we’ve seen that Xehanort is his own character with his own thoughts and plans) that he will have the power to release the four darknesses locked away by Ephemer and Player due to his connection to Player. Maybe that’s the true reason MoM paid Xehanort a visit during that age, adding even more to scene from Remind. If the four darknesses come out and possess at least four people in the story of Dark Road, then that would be four darknesses defeated maybe by Xehanort losing control in someway as he seems to blame himself as hinted at in the first episode of Dark Road.
Just food for thought! Keep up the great work!

The Strelitiza thought is interesting. I personally think Skuld will replace Ava, but if not, I wouldn't mind that. Regarding the Dark Road points, we're completely on the same page with that one. My next video will be all about it

One thing to keep in mind is we don't know how the Foretellers survived. Simply that Luxu was an anchor to bring them to that place if time travel or the box somehow plays a role. Maybe the Master of Masters has a way to bring everyone who was possessed by the darkness back. However, he may not know four darkness survived.

But this will only pave the way for the REAL antagonist of the series...The dinner Sora's mom made! The dinner could never forgive, for it turned cold. It has plotted for centuries and it's time will come. 😈

Well the thing that's seeming more likely to me is that M.O.M. somehow trapped the access to Kingdom Hearts in the box whether it be a secret keyblade or someone heart or the original darkness or whatever MacGuffin they wanna use. If light and darkness don't exist in the "fiction" world how else would he be able to access Kingdom Hearts in the fiction world? I assume M.O.M is awaiting Luxu to bring the foretellers and box to the fiction because in the fiction world theres no where for darkness to hide therefore M.O.M could purge darkness as a whole from the original source of light forever that being Kingdom Hearts ...where as in the "real world" when you defeat darkness it just keeps coming back. I think its less about defeating darkness and more about "cleansing" Kingdom Hearts to then use the power of waking and recreate the "real world" in pure light...basically the same thing Old Man Xehanort wanted except the Master of Masters isn't using light in a "justifiable" or "honorable" way ..which is kinda confusing you would think his actions would just give way to creating more darkness like Old Man X did lol but then again maybe because M.O.M is gonna use the light to do evil in a dimension in which light and darkness don't exist maybe unlike Old Man Xehanort, M.O.M actions can't give birth to darkness despite him doing evil things in the fiction simply because darkness cannot be born in the "fiction" world ...he found the loop whole to restarting the world and all he waiting on is someone like Sora who is strong enough to defeat the darkness or he will put the darkness in Sora and try to kill him... Sora has not only shown the potential to hold multiple hearts but the hearts of those who were tortured by darkness at one point ...very few characters have had darker stories than Xion, Ventus, and Roxas ... Maybe this makes Sora the perfect candidate to carry mulitple darknesses at once

Doesnt really have anything to do with this videp but things got me thinking the black box we still dont know whats inside but what we do know is the laws of time travel in the KH universe and at the end of KH3 the foretellers appear before Luxu after who knowd how many years we can assume its been hundreds of years so how did they just pop up? What if the black box holds something that belongs to each of the foretellers making the box their medium and with Luxu body hopping and living through the years hw would be the one to "remember" them giving all the things neccesary for the foretellers to travel to the present time so that way all those "vessels" the MoM has trained are now in the same time to harbor the darknesses as Sora who we all know is the one who can defeat them! Just a thought

There's been a couple comments mentioning the black box. I've never done a theory video on it because I just couldn't ever really guess what was in it. But ever since Nomura confirmed they time travelled, I've been thinking that it has something to do with it. The thing is, I'm not sure what method they used to time travel, so there may be another method that has different rules. However, based on the rules we currently know and what we have learnt about the Foretellers, I have a possible idea. I'm going to think about it more and if it checks out I'll do a video on it

    I was thinking here
    There are 13 darkness.
Master of masters created the foretellers to have a heart so strong that darkness would not take control over them. All the foretellers + Luxu + MoM are 7
There are six left for the other leaders. 4 of these were trapped inside the virtual world. So there are two left, one is speculated to be vanitas, the final darkness came with maleficent and there is no sign of it. Isn't there a possibility of Riku being a vessel for the last darkness? I mean, both Riku dark mode and vanitas suits are pretty similar. Riku didn't gained dark powers from ansem, he already used it before, it was believed to be a gift from maleficent, but if it wasn't ? What if this dark mode was the manifestation of living "Darkness" in his heart, it has been said that he was immunized against darkness, his heart has become strong enough to hold and block it? Knowing nomura he will not just create something so similar to be considered a coincidence, he is planning something and Riku may be involved in the new dark vessel part.
I don't know, it was just my speculation, what you guys think? I may have missed something, English is not my mother language, so somethings may not be Cristal clear in the plot.

Hey NextGen hope you are doing well. I think you may be correct in thinking that MoM doesn't have any of the Darknesses inside of him. He is probably lying to Luxu to convince him that this is the only way.
Also I feel like MoM and Xehanorts encounter was another attempt at defeating the Darknesses again. Why would he go specifically to Xehanort and tell him that he can control the darkness due to him having great power? I feel like he might have lured Xehanort to the Darkness (possibly the one that was supposed to be apart of MoM) or Darknesses so that way Sora could defeat them

Did you also know that in addition to literally meaning Vanity, the term “Vanitas” is a symbolic work of art in still life art, associated with death and depicting the meaningless of human pleasures and earthly life? It’s indifference and negativity.
Also in direct contrast to Art Vanitas is, Ephemerality. Ephemerality, is the concept of appreciating how the temporariness of all things, increases it’s value, worth and beauty.
Basically Vanitas views all things as temporary and thus meaningless, where Ephemerality views things as temporary and thus special.
For this reason, I believe Ephemer is faaar more special to the KH lore than we even know so far.
I believe the foretellers, Luxu and Mom’s darknesses will be extracted and made physical. Im not sure how the 4 trapped darknesses will be freed but it will happen, and Vanitas was extracted. So perhaps I’m unaware… but where’s the final darkness? I think this is all leading towards a new group of 13 darknesses where there will be a penultimate battle to completely eliminate darkness from the KH universe.

Re: vanitas being associated with pride: the Latin word for the deadly sin of pride is "Superbia", not "Vanitas" (whose primary meaning is more "emptiness" than "vanity" though both meanings exist). It could still be correct, but I'm not sure it's the most likely explanation. Especially since the seven black pieces include MoM's symbol, which to me means he is vessel to a darkness.

Another huge question: why was the Darkness who hid inside of Ventus able to take Ava’s form? If they are formless and need a human body to take their form could that mean that what we saw was actually the real Ava fallen to Darkness? If yes, why and how were they able to take control of Ventus and to hid in his heart too?
Also: how is it possible that Lauriam, Elrena and Ventus were already recompleted by the time they woke up in the future?? Nobody knew them or was around them to give them thier medium (opposite to what we saw for Brian in Scala). Does that mean that the Ark worked better in their cases? Maybe only the pods on the right side were still incompleted? Or is that the way they became nobodies and were found by the Org XIII? I guess that could be the explanation since for Ventus there was somebody approaching him in the keyblade graveyard (and maybe they were there as for Brian’s case to give him memories + medium)

The shapeshifting thing Darkness can do hasn't been replicated for some reason. Then there's the fact Ava herself can shapeshift, but we've not seen it more than once iirc. So I'm not sure what to make of either case of it. With those three being recompleted, I believe the memories came from Maleficent, which was the whole reason she needed to be in Daybreak Town to begin with. Eraqus said there needs to be a balance. The Land of Departure was a place where light and dark was in balance, and Xehanort has said the same thing himself. There's no way removing one half completely will be good for the universe, but MoM must know that. So either he doesn't care or there's something else he has planned for whatever fallout will take place. Like Xehanort said, "tyranny of the light" is a thing. Too much of anything usually isn't good for you. Balance is generally considered the ideal state of things. It'd be interesting though to see how the light might "ruin" things.

@@mastercontrO I will spoil the games lol.
In FF13-2: Goddess Etro was killed "again". Etro represents and controls darkness (chaos). When Etro vanished, sea of chaos poured into the real world with no one to control it, causing imbalance.
In FF13-Lightning Returns (final series): Because of Etro's death, hundreds of years continue. People don't die of aging (if you're a kid, you're forever a kid), no new human is born because if they died (killed) their souls become "unrest". There are sections in the game where areas "will be dark" due to chaos and these unrest souls are just in there as "soul seeds" (a ball of light) because they cannot be reborn. Living humans need help clearing these "dark areas" as they also full of monsters, but you will also "destroy" these soul seeds forever. Everyone in this world grew tired, sad, bitter and getting extinct.
I'll indulge you a bit (me talking like MoM lol): try wiki Final Fantasy Lightning Returns "Soulsong" and "Savior". I wonder, if Yozora ended up in the Final World has to do with the role of a "Savior" in Verum Rex (a world like Final Fantasy). I could be wrong, but who knows lol. 😁😅

He has lost sight of the importance of balance, of the existence of both light and darkness for the universe to continue. Think of it like matter, dark matter and anti-matter. Take one away and everything collapses. If you remove light everything dies and if you take away darkness everything is destroyed as well. I think the MoM needs a wake up call from the spirits of his lost loved ones convincing him to give up this nihilistic path. Or a 1000 good wacks with a frying pan.
