Then, they began to notice what everyone else already knew: Tubbs was controlling the fight with his jab and boxing angles. But Bowe had "won" the bout on paper by that time. These things happen when one guy is the overall favorite: that guy wins. Really good effort by Tony Tubbs. He should be proud! (5-4-1 Tubbs.)

These hypotheticals don't really mean anything, I'm just saying. Mike defended his undisputed belts plenty times. Bowe didn't want to fight Lewis.

This bout, more than anything, shows the difference between Tyson and Bowe. Tyson was a finisher. Bowe would get a big guy in trouble then run out of steam after the first barrage.
Unjust referees because Tony Tube was much better than Redric Bowe, and even if he won by points, they would still be happy. Tony Tube’s points and shots are much better. The first match I saw Redric Bowe being mediocre in it and bad in playing. 
Bowe, win or loss, always had problems with big boys like Golata, Tubbs, and Coetzer and I think it was the main reason why Eddy Futch asked him to avoid Lewis. He wouldn't have a problem for fighters with Tyson or Holyfield sizes though.
@@Shovelhook I love Bowe, but Golota IS the reason for him going downhill. Bowe was never the same after Golota 1. When they fought again, Bowe's downhill spiral was cemented.

Riddick was good but he was not messing with Prime Mike. 3 years prior what happened to Tubbs? Tubbs is an EXCEPTIONAL fighter when he comes with it.
Tubbs had great foundamentals and was very underrated fighter. He was out of his prime here but very good fighter!
He was few years younger than Mike and Mike was only like 24 at the time.
