It was a great competition from the 1st fight all the way to the last one.... Two great warriors.... Wish both of them all the best in their retirements..... Thank you for uploading the final fight.
Bowe was Holyfield’s toughest opponent. Bowe was skilled, had a good chin, was tough and refused to quit. Also, a classic ‘styles make fights’. Holyfield brought out Bowe’s best.
@@bobber0623 Both of them didn’t wanna fight each other they even said it before Tyson went to prison. They’re close friends. Tyson actually Only ducked foreman in his career. He paid Lewis to step aside to let him fight holyfield with both wba and wbc belts so they can make their title fight bigger and for the undisputed title which would’ve made an easy 40 mill purse for Lennox. Instead of the small 10-15 mill he would’ve got for fighting Tyson straight away.
He was literally dead on his feet early in this fight due to poor health and he still almost ko'd bowe. In fairness Bowe didn't look great. Neither fighter ever looked the same after their first two fights. Even in the Tyson fight, Holyfield looked good, but it was not his best. The older EH had far more bounce in his feet and threw more shots. It's a testament to his will that he became champion again after the Moorer and this performance. People forget that a lot of individuals were scared for Holyfield's life against Tyson because he was looking soooo bad. One of the strongest willed fighters ever to live. I'll never forget when he beat Mike the first time. It was one of the most impressive wins ever in boxing.
Ali and Frazer also had incredible willpower. Round 15 of the Thriller in Manila, Ali said it was the closest he’d ever been to death. It was Frazers corner who stopped the fight, Joe would’ve gone out for R15. Incredible athletes. I’ve done a bit of boxing, I was terrible at it,,people don’t have a clue what it feels like to take a right hook on the side of the head ,above the ear, your brain shorts out, your eyes glitch, your legs don’t respond, then you catch a left straight in the face ..... how these men could fight like that and not die is incredible. One right hook from a heavyweight could kill an ordinary man. These are supermen .
@@thpxs0554 Yeah same. People don't understand what they leave behind. Ali, Holyfield, Frazier, and Bowe left parts of themselves in the ring they can literally never get back. I've met all of them, including Foreman, and George was the only one who didn't have extremely obvious signs of brain damage. I was on a plane with Joe, and he could barely walk on his own without stumbling. He had a young kid carrying everything for him because he simply couldn't. It really is the ultimate sacrifice.
LOL out loud, no. He was a bodybuilder who did well in the boxing world because boxing was way down in his time. Frazier and Ali in their prime would destroy Hollyfield in his prime.
We must give huge credit for Bowe to interrupt the post fight interview, seeing that Holyfield couldn't respond to the interviewer in another video. Bowe given all the credit to Holyfield as a fighter. Respect.
It's hard for a guy with really long arms to not accidentally toss a low blow now & then. Cooney had the same problem. Holyfield was deliberately dirty with his head. I think he ruined himself with steroids as well. Too much bulk, too fast.

Yeah this started during the Michael Moorer fight. Teddy Atlas kept talking about how something was wrong with him. This fight was even worse. I was at both fights as a young holyfield fan ad I was heart broken. I thought this had to be the end of his career. When he was going into the tyson fight, the odds opened at like 20-1 for Tyson. People thought Holyfield was going to die because of the health issues. When he won, it was insane. I was ten years old, and I remember he had a cut and Flip Homansky was looking at it. Nervous that Flip would want to stop the fight, 10 year old me said "Get the fuck out of there flip!" right in front of my dad... Holyfield actually suffered a heart attack DURING THE FIGHT! He also had a type of hepatitis. And he managed to last 9 rounds while INSIDE FIGHTING, facing one of the strongest boxers of the 90s, knock him down, and get up at the count of 9. For me, this bout was perhaps the most courageous one ever, because he could've died any second, he knew SOMETHING was wrong, and he fought a great fight while pushing himself beyond his limits. Your thoughts?
He didn't suffer a heart attack in any fight, but in the 1st Moorer fight they thought his left ventricle closed and thus the doc said that he fought the fight, "essentially at cardiac arrest". What actually physically happened to Holy in the Moorer fight has been debated by many people, and you can read up on all the medical theories, but there is no doubt SOMETHING was wrong with him in that fight and this fight too b/c in every other fight Holy could go to war for 12, even 15 rds and not slow down. After reading his book and watching the fight, the Hepatitis thing sounds like it's 100% legit, and if he had been healthy, I think he destroys Bowe in this fight. But, it all worked out in the end....
At 33:01 watching it live on PPV, I was screaming "Throw the right hand! Throw the right hand!!" but Holyfield never threw it. The end of the Rd. I screamed "Damn it!"
I was watching this PPV with my brother and father. When Holyfield knocked Bowe down I leaped off the couch in excitement and shouted ! I was so excited and happy. Too bad he ended up losing. That was the last big Boxing match we all watched together. And we all had a great time. Now we don't even talk to each other. Haven't seen either of them in over 10 years.
There's Holyfield headbutting (or trying to) Riffick Bowe. It didn't work with Riddick Bowe because Bowe is two smart for a cheap club fighter like Holyfield.
I never believed that Evander had heart problems in this fight. They were just trying to make excuses for him. Instead of giving Bowe the credit, they put more attention on Holyfields supposed heart problems. He fought again just six months later (doesn't sound like a man with heart problems). It's a shame that people don't give Bowe the credit for beating Holyfield.
There was a period of time, in the mid 90's where Holyfield seemed to get unusually tired in fights. It didn't seem like normal fatigue. It was around 1994/95. What was going on there?
Holyfield must have started taking the Human Growth Hormone after those fights you mentioned because he was throwing Tyson round the ring like a Rag Doll and Tyson was fairly strong.
My point was Holyfield did fight again when Bowe was still champ and opponent-less. Anyway we can both agree that they were great fighters and it really doesn't take away from them either way. I don't blame you for putting Holyfield ahead of Bowe; he did still have a career after the three wars they had, when Bowe was pretty much finished after that. They were both great fighter and the evidence is in the matches they had together.
With all due respect to Mike Tyson, when he decided to self-destruct he went fast, publicly and painfully. Sadly at the end of the day, he reverted back to the juvenile delinquent he was when D’Amato first rescued him. Truly sad.

@@hisStory-y2g Me too, I never liked him. I agree that he had major courage but had he fought Tyson before Tyson went to prison, Mike would've slaughtered him. Assuming Rooney was in his corner. My biggest wish though was that Foreman would've knocked Holyfield out.
I remember this fight, at that time Bowe was the best Heavyweight in the world, Holyfield was suppoused to be done, he had hepatitis A during this fight. Susprisingly Bowe was never the same, he was basically shot as the fight with Golota proved. Holyfield went on to beat Tyson for the WBA title, unified the WBA and IBF in his rematch vs Moorer and had a good run until he fought Lewis in 1999.

We'll, we both really don't know what happened because there was never any concrete evidence of him having heart problems (not saying he couldn't have). The reason why I don't believe it; is because the athletic commission wouldn't have let him fight if he really did have heart problems (that's a serious issue). At this point, I was with my old pals in San Jose, and they were Bowe fanatics too. They were screaming "Go for it" when I kept telling them, wait- he hasn't got inside YET.
Back when heavyweight boxing was interesting.
tsuko tsikou Watch Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte when it comes around.
George Havenhand LOL you're comparing that to this..go home dude. The 90s era was the best. Today's era is weak.
Aj and whyte are really fucking big actually. Dont take those guys lightly LOL. But comparing generations is stupid. Just enjoy it for what it is! Boxing is coming back again and you can either complain or watch it!
Don’t compare AJ to these guys lol one punch from them would floor him
George Havenhand aaaaas love how this comment aged when a perennial B level fighter knocked out the fake champion
There was a time when I really rooted for Holyfield and admired his courage. But his failure to retire when it was time has really messed with his legacy. I can see the steroid thing happening, he needed to bulk up because he always was a blown-up cruiserweight. Still, the guy fought some pretty damn good fights.
And they say the thickening of the heart vessels that Holyfield had suffered from is often a by-product of steroid use.
Its terrible the way some fans convict people who were never busted and never failed a single drug test in a 30 year career. Its just wrong.
some people born cruiser weight
Holyfield is a legend
@@ExperienceEricmust be delusional
They are good men. Riddick shows his respect to Holyfield after the fight, never hard feelings between them. Boxing is sport, not killing each other.
I remember watching this fight as a kid because I remember watching the round 5 sign on the TV screen.
27:05 Round 5
Exactly two years after this, Holyfield would leave a part of himself in the ring forever when he faced Tyson!👂
Best fights in 90's.
You don't wanna meet Riddick Bowe in a dark alley, I must say.
Real talk
They need to make an anime. Each season or chapter based on each decade. The 20’s,50’s , 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s we already know are going to be beautiful. Every Division was stacked and there was a “super fight” basically every month
I remember Tyson-Mathis was originally scheduled for the same night as this fight on the other Pay Per View channel. But Mike broke his thumb a week before and it was postponed till mid December on Fox for free.
This 3rd fight with Bowe and his next fight with Czyz made people think that Holyfield didn't stand a chance against Tyson. And Tyson steamrolling thorugh McNeeley, Mathis, Bruno and Seldon made people think the real Mike Tyson was back.
The real tyson was back The one that could knock out bums easily

Holyfield was sick for this fight, even though he lost its amazing that he could find the energy to land that left hook and put Bowe down
@Jovan Stamenkovic if holyfeild never gassed out he would've stopped bowe bowe was poor defensive wise that's why hes punch drunk now
@@vlLEGTxSQUADX Bro to be totally fair to both these fighters, but they are both Punch-drunk now. Thats what happens when you either fight too long or take too many shots to the head in your career.

@@vlLEGTxSQUADX I'm not going to try and convince you because you obviously haven't heard or seen Holyfield speak lately. Holyfield has taken many shots to the head. They don't call him Warrior for nothing. Holyfield fought every bad man in the sport of Boxing. Holyfield also fought almost to age 50 with 57 total fights.
I seen Holyfield on a cooking show with his fam a few years ago and he could barely speak then. Boxing is a dangerous sport, you have to get out early or it happens to everyone.

At the end of the fight, the announcers ask, "What's next for Holyfield?" Two victories over Mike Tyson was what lay ahead.
Yeah, an over the hill Tyson with no real trainer in his corner. Had Rooney still been in his corner, Mike would've jacked Holyfield up in a massive way and everybody with any honesty knows it.
@@tombstone1111 you could argue that Holyfield wasnt in his prime either.
He beat TYSON WITH HEADBUTTS AND STEROIDS. HOLYFIELD IS A CHEATER 💯 PERCENT

Holyfield was the dirtiest fighter I've ever seen he was Juiced so bad he got a hole in his heart. Love this fight.
Bowe has some real talent
The defense of tysons side to side was so good that every opponent he faced when he implemented that defense correctly as damato taught, prevented any opponent to mount an attack, THIS is what intimidated the opponents, not tysons power, the power was a icing on the cake.the speed and side to side slipping was the culprit of the intimidation factor so all these jerks state that once a fighter wasnt afraid, tyson folded but it was because tysons defense stopped and they were able to retaliate
Greatest trilogy in my my eyes.
Holyfield looks unwell after 1 round. At end of round 4 Holyfield says can't breath.
My dad and I were huge holyfield fans and we couldn't get over what was happening. Nervous that Flip would want to stop the fight, 10 year old me said "Get the fuck out of there flip!" right in front of my dad... I looked at him and said "sorry" and he was so into it he just said "it's ok don't worry about it."
Bowe was never given the credits he deserved. G.O.A.T.
Great fight. Wrong ending for me, but a damn great trilogy. The Real Deal vs Big Daddy🥊✊🏿🥊✊🏿🥊
This fight is rite up there with the best
a heart condition? Maybe it was too big for his chest.
Or maybe he dropped his steroid useage
Who knows but something went wrong For Holyfield cause he didn't have the push to rush Bowe after he dropped him Bowe was a duck dinner waiting to get got he was all out on his feet dude let him off the hook!
I think so.
The heart condition was later revealed to have been totally made-up and false.
I cant undrstsnd. After 1 year holyfield is too much strong fight vs tyson.
A lot of good trilogies in boxing 🥊 but I don't know if there is one better than these 2 fighters matches! Very entertaining!
evander holyfield what a warrior !!!!
I was there that night!! Great night- great fight
that sledgehammer fist from Bowe....
I've seen it post fight. Never pre-fight. Ward - Gatti, those guys showed immense respect for each other. But I agree. It was nice to see.
When Steroids are not enough. Thanks for posting.
Bowe in his prime could have beaten any heavyweight. But damn, here Holyfield is giving away almost 40 pounds to Bowe! That's crazy.
Bowe could of been one of the greatest.
Lewis was better. But with this trilogy, Bowe and Holyfield gave us the best heavyweight trilogy since Ali - Frazier.
Bowe is in such good shape for this fight, that he looks like some other guy.
Look at some of the people in the audience, especially around the 38:00 Mark for a while. Are some of those people cardboard cutouts used to fill seats?
Lol sounds like a Tyson fan to me. I seriously doubt if Bowe and Holy needed card board cut outs to fill seats after their first two fights What will yall come up with next to try to disc Holy
@@bobber0623 calm down brother, love holy bowe and Tyson. Merely asking a q based on how flat and still those ppl looked but looking at them closer now, I eventually saw some movement. No need to jump to conclusions, I love the bowe and holy fights and not discrediting anyone, juuust an observation bro
All your fantasy huh?
@Nitty Gritty yeah one of the toughest men in history is a bitch. You're a moron
@@BoxingbearI’m sorry man. Families are complicated.

That HEAD behind Evander's Trunks really speaks well of himself and his fighting style.. 😆🤦♂️😆
Yeah Kian he got a bad dose of roids for this fight for Bowe. Almost killed him
My point was Holyfield did fight again when Bowe was still champ and opponent-less.
Tyson all day ppl. How u gonna be 20yrs old and heavyweight champion of the world and not be great?.. You try to do it
Sean Kimble;don't forget Mike was ONLY 5'10"on a GOOD day!! OUTweighed and a lot shorter than ALL his opponents!!

With all due respect to Mike Tyson, when he decided to self-destruct he went fast, publicly and painfully. Sadly at the end of the day, he reverted back to the juvenile delinquent he was when D’Amato first rescued him. Truly sad.
Great at 20 a bum at 23
@@bobber0623 lol Mike was never a bum until the 2000s

That dude is a gentleman and a straight warrior.

Also his camp should be smart enough to not throw Holyfield in there with Bowe (his toughest opponent) when he has heart problems.
I didn't even know they fought a 3rd time.
