Does Blue Masking Tape Give you Straight Lines?

I will be bringing you along my day and how we got started on painting these door frames and basically all of the baseboard trim of the home without a sprayer and with minimal preparation. I used blue masking tape to get straight lines around the door frames and then i used nothing but a brush and roller to get it done.
To make sure no paint bleeds thru I placed the tape 1/16 on top of the shoe molding to keep it from going through.
