Reuben seems chill AF. Appreciates what he got to see rather than what he may have missed out on, due to the EX30's issues. And, his attitude toward other path/road users is the best I've seen on RUclips. That small nod or wave does so much to let others know "hey, I see you, I'm not gonna run over you, and I respect we're sharing the trail."

Hi Marty, your hospitality is unmatched. You can tell Ruben is a great rider too and that he really enjoyed the ride. It sucks what's going on with the ex-30, I was so hoping to see one of your regular range tests on it soon to compare with the Commander Pro so I can finalize my buying decision.

I get about 70ish miles on mine but I don’t usually go above 40 if that helps give you any reference.

Im glad I didnt wait for the ex30. I would buy it in a later medel without rhe kinks. Looks very promesing when it works as desinged
I had higher hopes for the EX 30, but it seems like all these new begode wheels are roughly 75% complete, having issues out of the box. It's becoming more of an obsessive hobby, that I only have time to ride, not work on a brand new wheel.

It's hard to travel with your helmet. Statistically he was going to be fine doing a few rides without a helmet.
@@ElectricUnicycles each person is free to do what they want, I do not recommend riding without a helmet, I have several friends who also love to ride without a helmet, too bad you are having problems with the EX30, I personally tested it last week and I didn't like it, No Limits to Ride "EUCs"

It may not be a bad power distribution board, but a bad battery pack. While you are waiting for a replacement power distribution board, you might want to try a battery replacement experiment. I would get the original battery pack that was in the wheel from Roger and use it to replace the battery with high voltage. It is possible that it has an issue with power delivery where the voltage sags under load and recovers while it rests. Easy enough to do and if it works then you'll get the wheel working quickly.
Thank you for the suggestion. The power distribution board has been replaced and the wheel (so far) is performing as I would expect.
If its anything like the Master the front pair left/right should be in series. The rear pair should be in series, but those results make more sense the other way with batteries series front to back. Even then there is a discrepancy of some 0.4v pointing at possible problems with that front left battery.
Well, the front left battery has already been replaced. I doubt two batteries are bad 🙂 The power distribution board has been replaced which seems to have fixed the problem. Future video

I'll be trying out the LA riding scene this October...Reuben- is the wide open space and mountains a shock when compared to the hustle and bustle of NYC?
Manhattan riding left me hostile and on edge after being cut off and almost hit repeatedly, and being cussed out by the spandex biking crews... lol

Since it's that easy to change the power distribution board, why don't you charge up batteries to the same voltage again and borrow that board from someone that has working ex30 just for one ride, one afternoon. Dawn maybe? Just to be sure that's what finally solves the problem.

What kind of speeds do you guys cruise at when doing GMR? Just curious how fast you guys go.
I ride between the low 20's and ~35mph. Others will ride up to ~50mph for stretches.
Eeeves review of the ex30 showed that they could ride at 55km/h with 3% battery. Does that mean the 0% voltage is simple relatively high set? They got a good range on theirs though. Like 100 and something km.
Most likely they were not using a calibrated app. You most assuredly can not go 55km/h with 3% battery. When in doubt always use the battery voltage to determine your battery percentage.
Out of all the euc’s you have which one is your favorite
Can't really answer that since I have different EUC's for different riding scenarios.

Did the packs go back the same way they came off? Might be good to swap two of them and see if the problem follows.
The problem has gone away once a new power distribution board was installed.
@@ElectricUnicycles What a relief! Does it mean a perfectly good battery pack was replaced? Next time, swapping a pack around the wheel could help to failsearch the board faster.

Because the ENTIRE purpose of this ride was to TEST the EX30 🙂 Ruben was in town so he joined me.
Totally off the subject. You should look into the LS2 villiant ll helmet. Chin gaurd goes to the back with way less wind drag

It happens, with any wheel. I already made my choice and have bought an EX30 myself. I don't think you would be disappointed with either wheel but I prefer the 134-volt wheels and the flexibility that comes with the linkage based suspensions.
I was between Master pro and Sherman S, I choose MP for performance reasons, but after seeing the SS getting 55 mph and over 70 miles range, I kinda think the SS is the best wheel for most, currently anyhow! My MP is quite the wheel, and after a week and a half, I’m adjusting to the massive size, but i think I probably would have liked the SS a little more, and it was about $500 cheaper also. But the ex30 was right there, and after watching eevee’s review yesterday, I’d love to try it
@@stevescott5858 I love the Master Pro but think it stands by itself in its capabilities and is primarily a distance/comfort wheel. Otherwise most people would be better off with a general purpose 3600wh wheel like the SS, EX30, Commander Pro.

@@stevescott5858 The stock street tire. Since I rarely take it offroad I think the street tire is the best option for this wheel.
Looks like whatever does the "voltage balancing" for the left packs are not working all the way correctly. BUT the balancing between the two left sets and the two right sets ARE working? Becuase the right battery sets were 58v+58v=116v, and the left sets were the same total V 55+61=116v. Dont you love electronic technical issues 😤😡🤬 lol they always give me a short fuse.
A new power distribution board has fixed the issue.

Not that I have heard. Testing the fix now but it looks like the power distribution sub-board is what failed, not the batteries. 15-minute fix (once you get the part)
You can say whatever about begode, but fixing stuff replacing tires is an easier job than most eucs...
Big motors need big power to move agile and big weight will consume more power…. You did a range comparison before and you proved this already… if you you look back on the stats and power consumption I would be inclined to think that the power consumption is normal if you compute for the weight and power drive of the motor. While it is true that the controllers gives the power the driver determines based on the ride by pushing it…. So the controllers are sending more power more often to a heavy and Higher rated motor that a light and lower rated efficient motor - the difference between the two is Power Efficiency. It is what it is.
The problem was a bad power distribution board which has since been replaced.
Your ex-30 is like my s22……plagued with problems 😢

@Chris Torina do you have the Pro version? In another note, are the Pro and older model S22 mobos compatible?
@@mig6220 no I don’t have the pro motor…..might have to upgrade to that if possible. I heard you can use the old board with the new pro motor but that’s just hearsay I’m not totally sure. Still waiting for my 3rd motor and board to arrive so fingers crossed 🤞🏼

Helmets are overrated it seems.
Depends on who you are. Some do, and some don't. It shouldn't really cause a disruption.
@@RUillistEUC It's just unfortunate when an accident happens not due to the rider but some other careless person on the road and the injury affects the rider. It comes out of a place of concern.
