I love city of San Mateo and San Carlos and Daly City and San Francisco and Redwood City and Menlo Park and Burlingame and East Palo Alto and Atherton and Palo Alto and San Bruno and Milbrae and Brisbane
On the plus side, the crime rate in San Mateo is much lower than San Jose and San Francisco. Also it’s easier to find parking to dine in downtown San Mateo.
Aragon High School highly rated? When I went there in the early 80's, we had a smoking section. An open campus to come and go as we wanted. The Preppies from Hillsborough drove to school in their white VW Cabriolets, the Stoners made pipes in woodshop, the Cholos from Barrio Shoreview were fixing their lowriders at the auto shop class, the Nerds from the Highlands were building computers, and the Pacific Islanders from South Norfolk on the football team won the championship. Sadly, many of my classmates moved away because they were priced out by tech transplants. It was more economically diverse, blue collar and interesting back then.
@@mr.luisanthonydivito3585 thanks for sharing. Yes interesting groups back then! Anyone that stayed has $2.5m+ now and it is a very lively downtown and hillsdale shopping area.
@myjourney1011 id love it too! But that’s not going to ever happen. Only new construction communities, in which there isn’t much, would do that but existing ones, people aren’t willing to want to wait/pay for that
Yeah butbhe ain't telling u the rent here is 3800 for a 2 bedroom apt. I pay 1150 for a studio because we been here forever... I'm from the Westside of San mateo the the part he didn't put in the video they never put us in the video... kingcenter was the hood. But gentrification took over the city and now it's Lil japan.. good luck tho all the culture is gon. If u lil sushi and ramen at every shop then go head.. I went aragon. Lmao it didn't used to look like that it was ghetto.. go look at aragon back in 1998. Lmao real san mateo..
Like “gentrification” is a bad thing? Come on dude 😂 it’s an improvement. Imagine if every was cheap how “ghetto” would things be? Just look at Oakland? Wanna live there?
The city was much different 20 years ago as far as diversity in population and housing developments. Many apartment buildings and complexes have been built in comparison to new homes. When I am in the area I drive thru to see what new developments there are. With this migrant influx I'm curious what it will look like in five to ten years. I was hoping, he were going to mentioned its proximity to Half Moon Bay. Strategically, San Mateo can be a great place to reside. Just depends on your proximity to palm colored people. It has always been that way in San Mateo. I just wasn't equipped with the skills to identify that when I was growing up there.
Terrific video! So well done!!
I appreciate you!
@@SpencerHsu TY! 🙂

You love it all!
You need a car to live here, public transit isn't good everything is too spaced out, cant beat San Jose or San Francisco :)
:) yes unless you live in the apartments or condos along the Caltrain line but otherwise driving and Uber it is!

Very true! San Mateo is a great place
I’d rather drive than live in filth, druggies and homelessness. So I left SF and moved to the Peninsula.
@sfrealestatedealmaker6001 many have!
Just please don’t stay at Parkplace apartments very experience, and they’re full of mold. Read about them on yelp.❤🙏🏼
Dang, sorry to hear that! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks ❤ hopefully it can help one person. At least I enjoyed your video.
@@loridisney3782 Thank you!

Hi, is there any english school for international students in San Mateo city.
What grades would you be looking for?
@@SpencerHsu advanced English and TOEFL.
@@orlindomachengo8216 You can go apply for Nueva School or go through tutoring centers
@@SpencerHsu thank you
I grew up in San Mateo. It's far too crowded and expensive now. I wouldn't recommend living in the Bay Area at all.
It’s all relative. I’m born in the Bay Area. Change is inevitable. It’s nowhere as dense as other cities And countries are
@SpencerHsu We left California in 2019 for rural Indiana. There are a lot fewer people here. I do miss South Lake Tahoe, Ft Bragg, and Monterey.
@kathleenevans1201 that’s as open as it gets! Send me your friends that are still here :)
If you love cold and windy including Asian Latino neighborhoods very expensive real estate and rental properties
Aka mild temperatures and premium location. You are correct!
@@SpencerHsuI like to see the city put all electric wires underground

Look at cities 25 years ago? Things change :) Imagine if you bought a place in 1998 and how much your home is worth now

@sfrealestatedealmaker6001 depends which side you are on! Oakland isn’t all bad fyi
