    Your tips are actually helpful. My fish had a scale problem and it’s true to better leave it instead of trying to treat it. I learned this the hard way. At the end of the day I had no idea what it was and how to treat it. I just up my water changes routine and the scale is now looking better. Slowly but better.

      Also agrees with you on methylene blue dip. From my experience the dip won’t work very well I had much better result using it in quarantine tank for a few days or week.

      My Black Moor (Blackey) had a missing scale. I noticed it a week or so after purchasing him/her. It has completely grown back on it's own now, although it has grown back, you can still tell which one it was. It is slightly darker but intact.

    Hi! My goldfish is resting on the bottom of the tank. Today was regular water change 30% . Also, I fed a sinking pellet today instead of the gel food. What do I do ?

    Hey 😃 I cured one of my fish today! 😃
    It ate too much blood worm 🪱 and was sitting on the bottom, so I fasted them for a day. Then tonight I fed them de-shelled peas with a couple of drops of garlic water soaked in them. It is behaving as normal now and swimming normally! Yay!

      I haven't tried that yet. He still seems to have an appetite. The other fish are really active and eating well. He has bouts of being active, then going in the corner. There are no signs of bullying and he still comes out for food. It seemed to start 5 minutes after he helped himself to most of the cube of frozen blood worm.

    Another situation!
    ? My cat flicked 3 fish out of my pond and I found them a time later. One floated for awhile and then slowly wiggled alive.. the other two were a little quicker. 8 hours later the two smaller ones seem okay but my one 12cm shubunkin is struggling and laying in the bottom of the pond.
    What do I do- I added bettahealth to the water to stop any disease. It’s cold outside- 6-12C to I catch the fish and bring it in to a small hospital tank with a bubbler where it’s warm- what else can I do?

    • @AquaticElements
      @AquaticElements  13 дней назад

      Sorry to hear that! How are the fish doing now? Bringing them in to the warmth will definitely help with the healing process. But you need to do this acclimation very slowly over a week or so. Antibacterial medication and salt should help

      @@AquaticElements Thankyou two of the the fish have survived and have some scale and fun damage, my favourite fish who was the mother of them passed away, I bought her into isolation with mild salting and a bubbler in her tank.unfortunately she succumbed to her injuries about 18 hours after. I scoured the Internet but I think that it’s really important to have an escaped fish first aid video.. next time I would pour pond water on her her in a large volume and remove carefully in a direction to assist the scales not coming away I think it was my quick pick up response that pulled the scales off stick to the floor.

    So something wiped out my tank, I had 4 fish but now have 1 left. First one that died showed no symptoms. 2nd was lethargic and spent a couple of days laying on the gravel. 3rd stayed near the surface but developed a swollen mouth. I have been treating for fungus but no results yet. I am very confused

    • @AquaticElements
      @AquaticElements  11 месяцев назад +1

      Very hard to say but could have possibly been bacterial or parasitic potentially

    I came to rewatch this video as I am a little confused. My oranda has been in quarantine for roughly a week because of red fins and clamped fins, we had been using melafix and pimafix. He showed positive result with no red fins at all and had been his normal healthy self. 2 days after he started being normal I started noticing red tinge of fin once again, its just a tiny bit so we checked the water parameters and changed 60% water yesterday and used melafix n pimafix once again. However, today he has been swimming at the surface only. He is still fairly active but I cant seem to identify what is the issue as water temperature and parameters are both fine. Could it be gill flukes or bacterial infection?

    • @AquaticElements
      @AquaticElements  2 года назад +1

      I'm sorry to here this, it does however sound like and environmental factor and maybe a water issue. I know you checked paramiters but sometimes things can go undetected. How long has his tank been setup for?

    Hi, I'm worried sick about my Black Moor who appears to have fin rot and I can't find any answers nowhere. I hope someone can advice me.
    My infected fish is already in a hospital tank. Now I've added the recommended dosage of methylene blue per liter and also placed an air stone for oxygen. Now my questions are:
    (A) Won't my fish need beneficial bacteria anymore?
    (B) Can I / Should I feed my fish?
    (C) How often or do I even need to do water change?
    (D) When should I add more methylene blue?
    Pleaseeeee

    • @AquaticElements
      @AquaticElements  Год назад +1

      Personally I would do daily water changes with treated water at the same temperature. You'll need this to be dosed with the correct level of meth blue to maintain the level recommended. Personally I like to use acraflavin and salt but the meth blue should help.
