I enjoy watching your install videos, Steve. Only point I'd make here is, before bolting the bars to the bike, you can even put the sides on a flat table. They're even when the base bar and the ends of the bars are all touching the table. Got a stingray (bicycle) bar I need to do that with.....
Love that derby cover!!! Thanks for another great and informative video!! In 20 years when I have my 2024 this will come in very handy! Ride safe and thanks again!! 🤘🤘
It’s easy when you have the experience! Took me about 8 hours to change the bars on my FLSB, though I did have to change the clutch and brake lines. The vacuum bleeder tool fixed the issues with my brakes! Love your video’s, always a lot of good practical information. ❤

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do some work on your new bike man. The bars turned out great! Im really glad you liked them after your trip. I really appreciate the kind words bro! That makes all this work worth it in the end. Helping our community learn and sharing knowledge makes us all better riders in the end!
Thanks for the very helpful and informative video. While installing a new set of bars on my (identical) 2024 Road Glide, I made it a point to pull the main fuse. However, I must’ve bumped the ignition switch while reinstalling my perches. I got a nice surprise when I reinstalled the fuse as my stereo connected Bluetooth to my phone and my AC/DC came blasting through my bike speakers! Anyway, I had to rewatch your “how to clear your CEL” portion again. It worked like a charm. Thanks again, you’ve got a subscriber for life, Sir.
I have ran the KST Spearheads on two different bikes now. My Street Glide and now my Road Glide. I like the fact that they are more adjustable than a lot of other bars. Another great video Steve.

New sub. Got my 2024 Roadglide CVO last week. Just swapped the bars back to stock on my 17 RG special before selling. But this old dog just learned some new tricks! Thanks Brother!! BigDog
Hey Bigdog thanks for checking it out and always glad to help! Im still learning this bike as we go...a lot of new and better changes than I have previously seen on the these bikes in the past. Been reading the service manual like crazy and everyday finding something new.
Great video as always. Man they are good looking bars. Never thought of using a nut on my string like that. I always use some plastic on it with a vacuum. Going to have to try your method!
Thanks for checking it out John! I originally started using the nut and just using gravity to let them fall through the bars...but yeah blowing it through is much faster lol works every time!
You know I am an adult child, you said "crack in the back" I burst out laughing! I love this channel. I'll check out Laconia for a deal on three piece bars for 21RG. The "notched" bars fully prewired all worked from another dealer, no codes, but the width of reach not a good fit for me, 250 miles, 3 near drops, took them back off. Ironically when I put the stock bars back on, I got a code. lol I think I need to stop watching your channel and leave my bike alone 🤣😂🤣😂 That is never going to happen. 30K+ miles of smiles and telling everyone to watch your videos. You should get royalties, for the next week I will be dropping "crack in the back" jokes. Stay safe and Hi Mary!
Thank uuu for your videos, I have the Whisky fire RG as well, my dealer wants 500$ to install my plug in play heated grips, I told the service manager, they're plug and play, they keep insisting there's a butch of wires that need to be run through the bars, but they have yet to install a set they said. Thanks for the clarification on the plug and play and I will be changing out my heated grips and bars myself, again my dealer want 8 hrs labor at $165 an hour to just change out my bars, I really enjoy your channel$$$$$
yeah...lol you can that at home...the old way was horrible and I cringed every time I had to do them...but these...so easy! Thank you for checking it out!
Thanks fir the video man.In your opinion should I need to change cables on a 2024 Road King Special going from the stock 10 inch to a narrower 12 inch bar?
@sikbaggers always great videos. Thought I'd share a best practice. I have installed the KST modulars on my last 5 bikes and dozens of my buddy's road glides. What I found is this...after installing the uprights into the base, lay the assembly on a flat bench surface face down. This insures that both sides are at the same angle. Wrap a piece of blue painters tape around the base of each upright just above the clamps on the base. Make a mark with a sharpie on the tape at the seam of the clamp on each side. Once they are reinstalled on the bike into the riser clamp, you have a reference point as you rotate each side for inward/outward pullback. If you align that mark equally on each side you will insure that they are set equally on each side. (Note: as you rotate, it is easier if you make a second reference mark on each side so that you can more easily measure the distance from the clamp seam). It sounds much more involved than it really is. This ensures that both sides are at exactly the same angle without having to do all kinds of measurements off the fairing while trying to insure that the wheel is perfectly aligned.
hey thats a great idea...ill do that next time...i had them installed already and figured that would be the best way to get them lined up but that seems more practical for sure
After watching your video I’m going to do my bars. The step by step portion is great. Couple that with the comments below including the alarm siren. How long did it take you? Granted it will take me a bit longer but just so I can have a rough idea? Dealer said 6 hours for a tech!!
Are the new ones worth it? I have a 19 CVO RG. I thought bout a new one but not real sure. I don’t want to be disappointed lol. The VVT has me wondering if putting in a cam will be difficult. Do the regular 24 have VVT?
I dont think it will be hard to install them but we will have to wait to see what cams come out for it...let them do the testing and see what works best. Im excited to see HD finally doing VVT, to be honest. The 24 CVO has VVT.....standard does not.
Its from Harley...and the only reason I got one from Harley was it was way cheaper than any other one I found on the internet..it blew my mind too....harley was cheaper lol
Doing my bars but for some reason I’m blowing the 7.5 battery fuse…. It doesn’t blow if all my connections are unplugged from the center plugs at the riser, but if I plug one in it blows. I get my dash and radio on but none of my controls work and I can’t get the code screen to come up either. These were pre-wired so I didn’t even have to pull wires through this time! I have undone all my connections and checked for any pinched or damaged wires and found nothing wrong. Any idea what may be wrong? I forgot to take out the main fuse and/or disconnect the battery first but, seen that I should just be able to clear the check engine codes
If you are blowing a fuse then you definitely have a wire issue in the bars. Pre wired just means someone else wired them and it could have happened then. I would call the company and tell them to replace the bars and wires. I know its a pain on your part having to redo it but there is nothing in the switch housing or the connectors that would pop fuses. Any reputable company will stand behind their pre wired bars.
Will 2024 RG handle bars fit on a 2023 RG ST? If you seriously are planning on tossing the Handlebars, I would be interested in them for my 2023 RG ST…
If you buy the 12 inch bars for the 2024 RG. Disconnect the cable from the mounting brackets upper and near the frame down near the triple tree.. its to tight just diconnect the cable from the top one only..
The only thing that you didn't cover, is how those 10" bars compare to the stock. Are they the same height as stock? I know you said these and 12" would be ok with the stock length wiring, so I'm assuming they are in the same ballpark?!?! Thanks for another great vid.
Thank you crawler! They are slightly taller than the stock bars as i demonstrated we had to remove the wires from the tree clamps to get a little more extra room and we talked about doing 14's having to remove the wires from the neck clamp to gain even more room. Its very hard to compare aftermarket bars to stock..most of them dont hold the same shape as oem bars. usually standing upright more than laying down in your lap like oems.
no...no way you should be able to slide those off...thats super dangerous..take them apart, double check your work and if it right then contact KST right way
It should be noted that if you have the security siren that they bike should be on but not started and then the fuse should be pulled. After you pull the fuse then switch the bike off.
@@sikbaggers no worries. Making videos isn’t easy at all. I’ve made a few and it sucks lol. But yeah any bike that has the siren someone will have a bad time if they don’t pull that fuse with power on lol.
