    You are super my friend!! but I still have one more question... so I'll start from the beginning.
    Say that there is already the main aquarium in operation, with its upper and lower ones..if we want to put a valuable animal in it, would you suggest that I quarantine it to avoid as much trouble as possible??
    Thank you very much and I would really like your opinions!!!!

    Hi Mark, interested in what you think is the correct dosage of copper?? Also what your thoughts are on Chloroquine Phosphate instead of copper?? Great talk, many thanks

      Depends on the medication. Each medication is different and always check the label or the manufacturer for the correct dosage.

    I know it's been like 3 year bud I just recently got my hands on a yellow tang and I have it in quarantine with copper dosed but i woke up this morning and was feeding it and noticed it had velvet I've done a freshwater dip and it's back in the tank now but do you think it will make it or no? I'm just hopeful that since it's been in copper it will be fine but I'm not sure

    Great video however, what is the required PPM of copper that will kill Ich, but also that fish can tolerate in QT? and if it depends on the type of copper (Coppersafe or Copper power)

    Can I dose an anemone only tank? I have 30 anemones and worried to dose and hurt them. They're all deep in rocks and there's no way I'm getting all of them out. The only fish I have are 2 maroons, 2 Clarkiis, 1 tomato clownfish and a starry blenny. The tomato showed signs today and the 20 min freshwater dip did nothing. Its almost like one long looking white worm on his body that stubbornly won't come off. There's two other white dots that resemble ich. I'm not sure what it is.

    I need help. I just got into the marine world and of course didn't QT my fish .I'm a idiot and I know about quarantining because of years in the freshwater world.
    I think my fish have worms ( white stringy poop etc). I've tried everything to get them to eat medicated food. I've tried mixing metro, prazi, levamisole, and focus with frozen and dry foods using garlic guard or Seachem entice but they refuse too really eat it.
    Unfortunately I lost 2 filefish that had been healthy before the feeding the medicated food. So I think filefish can't handle those meds
    My tank is a FOWLR tank.

    • @Saltwateraquariumdotcom
      @Saltwateraquariumdotcom  3 года назад

      Stringy poops aren't always indicative of parasites. Are they eating non-medicated food?

    Congrats on another great webinar as always! Got a question for you. I have been told that keeping PH above 8.0 is mandatory for Tangs otherwise they tend to stress and get Ich. What do you have to say about this?

    Hi Mr. Saltwater Tank. Thank you for a great video. I just had my clowns died on me due to what I think it's brooklynella. I didn't quarantine a fire fish I placed in there and now all three fish died in my 15G waterbox which I purchased from SaltwaterAquarium. Great customer service by the way. Question for you. I don't know what to do next. Should I bleach the tank, kill everything include the beneficial bacteria and start over? Can I wait it out a month and add new fish and hope for the best? Can I add new fish back in sooner? All I have in there is an Astrea snail.

    One question, if I emptied tank and filled with fresh water, meaning no salt, will this disinfect my tank? I am willing to do that in the main tank if it would cure it, my fish are quarantined but i.had a tang die of velvet 3 days after bought, because I didn't qt

    Have a 2 month old tank, Domino Damsel and Clown were placed in it. Cycled the water in between. 3days after a cycle noticed the Domino pale white and it died that day. Took out Domino, then the clown started to appear white. Clown died the next day, is this Velvet? Also Clown had a mucus film over it

    • @link4eva10
      @link4eva10 Год назад

      Also, noticed a whole bunch of white circular swirls, like snails, appear just before Domino showed any signs of sickness. I think the latest live rock brought snails and Bristleworms into my tank. Don't know if that had anything to do with an imbalance in the system.

    Hi Mark, I would love to know which fish in your opinion are the most resistant to these diseases? Which ones are most susceptible to them? (In general)
    I’m going for a 6-foot 183 gallon custom tank and these are the fish I’m getting:
    x1 Yellow Watchman Goby + Candy Pistol Shrimp
    x2 Captive-Bred Ocellaris Clownfish
    x1 Royal Gramma
    x1 Marine Betta
    x6 Pajama Cardinalfish
    x2 Longfin Bannerfish
    x1 One Spot Foxface
    x1 Flame Hawkfish
    x1 Longnose Hawkfish
    x1 Flame Angelfish
    x1 Yellow Tang
    x1 Yellow Candy Hogfish
    I’m going for a softies and simple LPS Mixed reef tank, it’ll be my first tank ever. Unfortunately I don’t have any spare room for any quarantine system. Are any of these fish I’ve selected particularly susceptible to disease?
    Thanks!

      I really don’t think your first thing should be a custom tank and I doubt Think you’ll stay into LPS and softies forever so keep some room on the top of your rock for some SPS good luck with your first tank hope I helped 👍🏽👍🏽

    • @AbsoluteZero6714
      @AbsoluteZero6714 4 года назад

      Thanks man! You’ve helped me. Actually if you look at dimensions my tank isn’t that far off from the “standard” 180 gallon (6’ by 2’ by 2’), it’s just a bit wider (2.3’) and a bit shorter (1.8’), the lowered height meant to give an easier time cleaning and the greater width suggested by my LFS to have a bit more room for aquascaping and a bit more water volume for fish to swim in.
      Can you please specify why you think a custom tank is not the best idea for a first timer? Thanks.
      Also, what do you think of my stocking list when it comes to fish? Will be overstocked?
      I’ll definitely take your advice on leaving room for some SPS corals. Do they need very established tanks though?

    hyposalinity to infected fish it will cut the lifestage of the ich

    I bought a powder blue tang at my LFS and he was doing great for a month then developed ich...I couldn't catch it so decided to just monitor him..after 2 weeks I noticed he started to swim slowly in circles and swimming into rocks like it was blind...thats when I caught him and qt'd him for a month with copper and then paraguard- he has no sign of ich but still swimming around like he's blind...he doesn't have any cloudy eyes or anything like that...what do you think is going on with him?

    Dont know if youll see this but i have a ? You said you can set up QT and throw seeded media in the tank..i did so with a 20 long and put sailfin in within 2 days i had 4.0 ammonia was i doing something wrong?? I even added bacteria to water..

    • @Saltwateraquariumdotcom
      @Saltwateraquariumdotcom  3 года назад

      A couple of things: 1...a sailfin tang in a 20g long is too small of a tank for the fish. Even a small sailfin will be more comfortable in a 40g or better tank. 2) What type of seeded media did you use?

    I been battling ich for awhile and I heard once you have ich in your tank it will never go away, not to long ago I finally purchased a QT I have my pair of maroons, snowflake eel, lemon damsel and a small Foxface, any medication that you recommend specifically for the fish I listed ?... also leaving my tank empty with no fish for 45-60days is that enough time for the ich and other parasites in my DT to die ?
