Great video :-) the song is Shakin’ by Eddie Money
Our game plan for retirement is to try to find a little piece of land that we can park on and use as a home base when we aren’t traveling.

It's a great song and way too catchy! Love that plan, and something that Sam and I are definitely diving into right now with our little chunk of land. Hoping retirement is right around the corner for you guys???

@@ALittleBitUnhitched 11 years- THAT makes me feel old, lol. I love the look of your parking pad, so much cuter than just a plain concrete pad. Looking forward to seeing what else you do to your home base.

@@StephSH It will fly by and will be so well deserved! You all will have to come visit, maybe we will have a second pad built at that point ☺ Thanks! Stay tuned, lot's of exciting stuff in the works.

We are ALOT older than you guys, you are about the age of our kids. We haven’t retired but are taking a several year break from work to live in our RV and travel across the country and canada. So far we are just past 3 years on the road. We also have a rv youtube channel and enjoy sharing our journey. We came across your channel when searching for a piece of property to spend the winters in florida, living in our fifth wheel. Eventually building a VERY small house to live in and go back to work 6 months of the year. Our goal is work 6 months, travel 6 months. Thank you for sharing your story, subbed and looking forward to more. Larry

Eddie Money....he was the MAN back in the 80's and the song "Shakin" has such a hit! Check out his album "Sounds of Money". Really cool that millennials appreciate that music. I guess that says how old I am...
Retired and full time Airstreamer and have a small winter property in south Texas. I still do some consulting work on line to stay busy and travel about 8 months a year. I hear a lot of stories about folks who start out being digital nomads but give it up after a time because they couldn't make it work or discovered it wasn't what they thought it would be. I'm glad you two have "settled in" to it and appreciate the benefits. Keep it up!

Eddie Money, what a legend! Both of us appreciate a good 80s song… heck we’ll even take the 70s when we’re feeling extra groovy.
We love hearing your story Randy! We have lots of questions about your Texas home base. Seems like a good place to winter and a pretty nice set up. How long have you been doing it full time?
Also, thanks for watching! We really appreciate it!

@@ALittleBitUnhitched "feeling extra groovy"...haha, far out! Yes, I'm a hippie from the 70's and can relate.
Long story short, I retired in 2019 knowing this is what I was going to do and had purchased my 2020 Airstream (19cb Caravel) because have always loved everything about them. My Dad was a big fan as well. Launched in March 2020 from San Diego, circumnavigated the US twice (about 35k miles) and decided I wanted a place to "check-out" from time-to-time, especially during winter. This last March I was in Mission, TX and came across a retirement community with "casita" type houses (about 500 sq ft) with level slab and full hook-ups on 1/2 acre, cheap (around 60k). Gated with all the amenities and perfect weather in the winter. Bought it and it's been great! I'm less then an hour from the coast where I can camp on the beach for free, a few hours from Big Bend NP and the Texas hill country. It's way down south in Texas and the authentic burritos here are awesome. They don't know what a California burrito is tho...sadly. I'm planning now to head up to Alaska in the spring and then to points unknown. So this lifestyle works really well for me and I'm very satisfied with it.

Your set up sounds completely ideal! You had us at “authentic burritos” but also very impressed with your California Burrito reference. Glad to hear your 35k mile trek didn’t scare you away from the lifestyle. I’m sure a hippie from the 70s can hang pretty well out there on the road though. 😎 Thanks again for sharing Randy, and thanks again for investing a bit in our adventures too! Happy trails!

We just found you guys. Glad we did. Everyone beat us to Eddie Money.
We will watch all your videos and see if you already told everyone how you found your property l, which state and how you have it set up. (Did you install your own utilities and such)
Great job! Thank you for sharing. We are fans.
