Thanks to Ubisoft for sponsoring this video and giving me a first look at their game!
It's been 12 years since I last played an Assassin's Creed game, so when Ubisoft offered me a chance to play their latest entry, I thought it was as good a time as any to jump back in.
If you're like me, hopefully this video helps you decide whether or not you should jump back in too.

The parry looks pretty neat, it might even be cool to have the ability to turn off the light just so it's more immersive and force you to watch their movement closely.
It also kinda reminds me of Assassin's Creed 1's combat tutorial video, which is a lot deeper than I thought, and explain why my experience with it is not as smooth as combat in Ezio trilogy. It also explains why there's a "click buttons when cutscenes blink".

I was hoping youd be able to have access to the different stats you upgrade like your light attack damage/heavy attack damage because in Valhalla there was an extent to where the added damage didnt even make a difference. I mean, I was one of the few people that enjoyed the back and forth plot with desmond in the present rebelling against a abstergo. Made the collectibles like the apples of eden a lot cooler and made it feel more worth it to seek out all the hidden extras.
Additionally, AC2 and Brotherhood&Revelations come together as a very nice arc for Ezio as a character since he goes through so much and you get to see him grow older.
To a lot of people that I've seen discussing older AC, it's a toss-up between Brotherhood and Black Flag for the best. I might be just nostalgic for it but the original 2 has such a nice charm to it, I especially enjoy that you don't *immediately* unlock the place that serves as your *hub* (the villa) and it takes a little while to be introduced to all the extra stuff that you can do as side content. I feel like after 2, the series was always in a rush to give you the place where you have to gather all your collectibles and take care of everything and what not. One of the main reasons I bounced off AC3 so hard was because right after getting to where you play as Connor you unlock the Homestead and it was just so overwhelming all at once. I'm rambling a ton here but, I guess my main point is that AC2 is paced incredibly well and that's why it's my favorite and the one I like replaying the most.

yeah so not playing any of the recent titles seems to have kind of shot you in the foot here honestly, since this seems to start somewhat in the early-middle of the game that means you likely didn't get all of the movement tutorials, like how when basim is climbing and he seems to not exactly be going the direction you want him to go, which was a significant portion of the video, it's because you weren't telling him to go up or down so he's just going to the nearest, though ttypically it's Y/triangle for up i believe and B/circle for down, which makes problems like you're having disappear completely, would HIGHLY suggest trying the game again later with these in mind

That explains why some things intentionally look "mobile-ish" like the pickpocketing, the options for contracts, and the tools basically covering the whole screen

Only 4 minutes in but I feel like this would’ve been an amazing standalone game. Ubisoft can make game that are not assassins creed. I promise we(or at least I) won’t get mad.

I know it’s an Ubisoft game, but it’s still a shame to see little innovation in this compared to previous titles, if anything it seems stripped back, even more strange is that they chose an unlikeable antagonist from the previous game (Valhalla) to be the protagonist here

  • @dabbwolf

After watching the previous sponsored video about some magic FPS game (I don't even remember the name...) I kinda get skeptical each time some game shows up as sponsored, since more often than not it turns out to be boring and bland... Then again, we are talking about the future Assassin's Creed games here.

No issues with audio quality that I saw - just the stiffness of the voice acting mentioned in the video.

    Do not.
    Do.
    Not.
    Do not hate on revelations.
It was the last true assassin's Creed game and wrapped up the story of our beloved Ezio.
    But point taken.
    The names are getting obnoxious.
    But holy shit.
Leave 2, brotherhood and revelations in peace.

I feel like the assassin focus is a ripoff from Talions ability from Shadow of Mordor/War... Mirage looks dope tho but yeah Lemon is right the assassin focus looks... not 'realistic' or as fancy compared to when you do those successive assassinations yourself.

The question I have for this game is the same one I had for Gollum: who wants to play as this character? The game looks fine, if a bit redundant at this point, but really? Basim, or whatever his name was, wasn't a very good character in Valhalla, a game filled with character shaped mannequins, and he still didn't stand out.

Its a shame its a Ubisoft game because it looks the way I always wanted AC1 to look. Also, just me that dislikes the flashing yellow and red enemies? Just put a small symbol above them, nothing breaks immersion like an enemy lighting up like it's June all of a sudden.
