Totally it's complete crap. Roy no doubt had to force his way though this monstrosity. His guitar solo shines through regardless. It's the band that failed him it was poorly scripted.
This vid showcases exactly what was wrong with country music in the 70s and 80s. Overblown, overproduced, unlistenable. Roy Clark had immense talent, but you wouldn't know it from this. Pure cringe.
I've listened to probably Every version of this - and this performance is still what I consider the very best version ..!
I do like when Roy Clark sings Rocky Top, and his singing is top-notch here, but the music is a bit over-produced and overdone.
