Thanks guys! This is super helpful. I'm shocked that nobody has figured out what the G29 has in it that makes it work with the PS4 and created an adapter to trick the PS4 into thing a G27 is a G29. Since we all know they are the same wheel.
Ugghh if only Thrustmaster included a 3 pedals set in one of their cheaper wheels like the T300... The fact that you need to buy a T3PA pedal set, TH8A Shifter and then basically let the T300RS 2 pedals set collect dust is beyond stupid.
Thanks to yout T150 review i bought one last week. Its perfect for VR-Beginner like me. I didnt want to spend a lot of money because I wasn't sure that Virtual Racing is the right thing for me. So I asked my little Brother and he said" Every wheel under 300€ is a toy and crap!" So i found your t150 review and here i go...got it for 169€. Its worth every cent.
Admittedly, the T80 isn't exactly a suitable wheel for 'sim' racing due to the lack of FFB, but I own one as an entry-level wheel back when I was first getting into racing, and as just that - an entry to racing with a wheel - it performs exactly how you'd expect. The bungie-cord system works well enough to make steering more resistive the further you turn the wheel, and the shifter paddles are decent (if a tad cheap sounding). The pedals do their job well enough, as well. Unless you've already experienced racing with a FFB wheel, I don't think you can go too wrong with this if you're just looking at finding out if sim racing is for you. The wheel itself actually feels really good in the hand with the rubber grips, and the ability to go through the PS4 UI with it for convenience is great.
Es ist mir eine große Freude so fundierte ausführliche Berichte von Euch Beiden vorgelegt zu bekommen. Vielen Dank und noch viel Freude und Erfolg in der Zukunft. Grüße von Carlos aus Deutschland.
Just ordered the T300 Ferrari Integral yesterday. This confirms me I made the right choice. Thanks for a great video, love your stuff. Very informative, no nonsense.
+gregsblade I bought it. Does your brake pedal work properly? Its difficult to reach 100% brakes for me, do you have the same problem? IF so what did you do to fix it?
+MickeyMoTiOnZ Mine are fine, a vast improvement over the G25 pedal box, you do have to be firm on the pedal though in some cars (older cars mainly, ford escort etc) in project cars but braking hasn't been a problem to me. Have you checked you are getting full movement on a PC?
You guys forgot a T100.Its not an official ps4 wheels but it is supported. Its basicly a t80 in the same price but it has force feedback so its a great budget option.
For those who complain that they could just buy a cheap car for real races...if you think about the money you'll have to spend for additional things(gas, engine oil, tyres, entry fee, etc.) this is rather a cheaper option in a long term.
Thanks Darin and John for another useful and in depth video on various wheels,I bought a T300RS after watching a previous review and I can truly say I absolutely love it and in my opinion it's the best wheel on your list for the quality and budget.really appreciate the time and effort you guys put in and now rely heavily on your opinions, keep up the great work!
Hey, guys. Just a head's up: the rim diameter of the T80 is not 28 cm, its 24,5 cm. Its a really small rim compared to the others on this list. By the way, nice video! Cheers!
The T300 is the best choice for simply playing. The problem this wheel has in comparison with the G29 is longevity since many report that it can brake easier. The Logitech wheels can take a lot of abuse that is why i will only buy Logitech wheel if i had to buy a used one.
I’ve got a thrust master t80 now , and wish to upgrade. Not because of the force feedback though. The wheel itself doesn’t perform bad at all. After getting used to it , the wheel actually performs amazing for the price. It steers good, and with skill, you can drive really good with it. My only problem is that it doesn’t turn far at all. About as far as the hori apex. But it does spring back a lot quicker. I have no complaints with the spring system . When you let go of the wheel in a drift, it springs back almost instantly. I got a t80 for the price but I do wish that I would have saved for a Logitech g29 , as that is a wheel that I have dreamed of having since I saw it. I see RUclips’s using the g29 all the time and it looks super smooth and looks like it feels better then most out there . It just has a high price point and do to financial stability, I don’t have the money to be able to afford anything that’s really over 100 dollars and I’m lucky to ever have that much money to be able to spend on something that’s not crucial, so for the time being , I have to settle for what I have , so I use my t80 everyday and enjoy playing nfs heat with it.
Guys, i had the tx, t300, t3pa pro, th8a and 599xx rim and got sick of swapping out the bases on my rig. I even wrecked a mounting plate on my rig because of this and had to get a replacement from GT Omega Racing. Decided to get the fanatec setup and so glad i did 😊
i brought a t80 then i started looking up reviews lol, about 9 days later i ended up getting a g29 with a shifter . The diffrence is like night and day lol..

Bought my g29 on bestbuy for 249 and I got the shifter as well. With dirt rally VR is the one of the most amazing videogame experiences I've ever had!!!
I bought the T150 Rs Pro (with the metal 3 pedal set) used for 140 €. Whoever wants to try out hardcore sim-racing this is a good start. I was influenced by Viperconcept. If you have a slighlty bigger budget I would definitly go for the T300 or G29.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!! I was hoping you'd do a video like this! I was getting sooo confused with the amount of wheels available for the PS4 and the XBox One,I could never remember what wheels worked with what system!!!! Thanks again!!!
I have A T80, wheel diameter is only 9 inches, The XBOX One Ferrari Non FFB Wheel is 11 inches in diameter though. why they made them different is beyond me. But yes, you can hard mount both pedal sets.
Now if only one came with column mounted paddles... For drifting of course. Once the wheel is turned how TF you know which gear is up or down? I guess you could look down but sometimes you can't in time to avoid an accident and potentially get kicked from lobbies. Once again, speaking purely for drift here. It's the only thing holding me back from buying one.
Between the DFGT and the T150 how much difference is there? I love my DFGT my only complain was the pedals. I'm thinking of getting the T150 then adding better pedals later.
+Ellis Warmington Its either a choice between the TX and the G920, im from the UK and its quite hard to get Thrustmaster products they seem unavailable and expensive, as a result I went with Logitech and was able to get a G920 and shifter for £200 in the sales, that seems to be the pro of the 920 is that you can get a full wheel set for quite a cheap price. How ever if you can afford it the TX Leather Edition is a better set but will cost more. The 920 is a good wheel but I see how someone with a G27 can be annoyed as it is largely the same wheel with some upgrades
yeah, the really vantage that g27 had, was the fact that it got the wheel, h-shifter and the 3 pedals, but now the price just not worth it, until because the only improvement that i saw in g29, in relationship to g27 was the force feedback, besides this its the same wheel, i mean, still with 900 degrees, just 6 gears+reverse, why not 1080 degress or 8 positions on the gearbox, like thrustmasters? but i think that i got it, they just did 2 wheels to grow up his public, like who got a xbox one, buy the g920, and who got the ps4, buy the g29, yeah its a good idea, but without improvements? its just dont make sense.
I want a wheel that has a shifter (if thrustmaster can use th8a) and clutch pedal (if thrustmaster I'll buy seperate if needed) and can work on ps4 with project cars &a the crew (with crew I want both the clutch and shifted to work) what shall I get
Any one know the reason why @15:37 they said that the T500 is becoming obsolete? Wouldn't the T300 also be becoming obsolete too but it's better because its cheaper and you're getting more for your money?
The T500 turns 6 years old this Fall. Came out in combo with Gran Turismo 5. The T300 is only turning two years old this Fall. Not as strong force feedback but smoother, so we prefer it regardless of cost.
Thanks for the response, really do appreciate it! I'm new to all of this and having to decide what to buy for my PC. I think I might go Alcantara. Now on to decide between F1 2016 or iRacing! Maybe both... :) Again, thanks for the info, really appreciated!
Hello how are you? Help please, I have a t500 rs gt6 steering wheel, I'm using a th8a shift lever, but I had a problem connecting it, and the ps4 pro did not recognize it, until I tried connecting it to USB port # 1. The console, and it worked, but in other ports, did not detect it, then in case I want to buy another lever to use as a handbrake, how do I? If the t500 rs does not come with a direct port for the lever? How do I make the two levers work at the same time?
+AceOfSpades1209 The T300 is a servo (brushless) motor using a belt. The G29 is a brushed motor using a gear. In terms of quality and feel, the t300 is in a completely different world over the logitech.
I have a problem, whenever I’m looking at my calibration results, I turn a tiny bit to the right and it turns fully left to negative when it is supposed to be positive, it also happens when I turn left. So when I’m playing a game with my normal t80, when I turn little left it goes right but when I turn fully left it goes back to left it is also the same when I do it when I turn right. I rlly need help with this plz help me. also, I play on PS4
it bugs me how the only wheel compatible with all consoles (ps4 one and pc) is the most expensive and isn't compatible with all games.I wanted to use it for formula 1, dirt, forza and gt sport.
Anyone in the UK looking for a deal on the G29/920 should know PC World currently has them for £180 down from £300. Shifter is also reduced down £25 or thereabouts. Just a heads up.
You guys mention here that the ClubSport V2 is compatible with the PS4, but Fanatec's own website suggests that it isn't. What leads you guys to believe that it works with the PS4?
It was compatible at the time we filmed this (nearly a year ago). Since then, Fanatec and Sony have had some 'differences' that have led to no more PlayStation support.
Here in Mexico i can buy the g29 for 4,000 pesos, that is like 200 us dollars because dollar costs 19 to 20 pesos for 1 us dollar, but i don't know if it is worth to buy a thrustmaster t300 599 evo for the 400 us dollar? what would you recommend me
It allows for more possible wheel positions. 10 bits allows 1024 different positions for the wheel to be in, while 16 bits allows 65536. To give you an idea of what this means, think of a 2 bit wheel, that wheel allows 4 different wheel positions. An example of a possible 2 bit wheel setup would be: 0 degrees straight, 90 degrees left, 90 degrees right, or 180 degrees straight backwards. The wheel can only be in one of those 4 positions, kind of useless right? You could also think of a 2 bit wheel as a Game Boy D-Pad, you have up, left, right, down - 4 positions.
they need a place that sells these so you can sit in them and test each one out
Agree because they have a PS4 console to try
Good idea, you can start that place and make money

Just put my new Alcantara rim on my T300 and it's fantastic. Feels great, nice and light and way more comfortable than the stock rim. Well worth it.
Ugghh if only Thrustmaster included a 3 pedals set in one of their cheaper wheels like the T300... The fact that you need to buy a T3PA pedal set, TH8A Shifter and then basically let the T300RS 2 pedals set collect dust is beyond stupid.
You can the T300RS Alacantara Edition. It comes with the 3 pedal set.
Gamestop sells the TMX and T150 in a bundle with the T3PA pedals for only $50 more. Search for TMX Pro or T150 Pro.
yeah but then its better to go with t500rs as alacantara is only a fraction cheaper.
But then you still have to buy the TH8 shifter.... There is no cheap option for a 3 pedal + shifter with Thrustmaster.
T150 Pro! I got one, and didn't regret it!

Hunting Clarkson assetto corsa rpject cars
Why are wheels so much money?
Because gamers will pay.
Because they have quite a bit of tech inside them, which takes time to develop and money to build
it takes a lot to make a quality wheel
it bugs me how the only wheel compatible with all consoles (ps4 one and pc) is the most expensive and isn't compatible with all games.I wanted to use it for formula 1, dirt, forza and gt sport.
its wort now to buy T500rs second hand for 370 euro?
I own..... t 150 pro
Its AMAZING for the money.
It has Smooth force feedback
And powerful! Got the good pedals and shift as well.
Is the T300 suffer from durability issues?
Do you get a stand with the wheel and pedals??

T80 transmetres can reastart ?
What if I can get a T500 for about 400 euro, is it worth the extra 100 over the t300?
Do these have handbrakes
how much the t150 cost now
Do you know any cheap mounting stands for the thrust master T80?
You guys mention here that the ClubSport V2 is compatible with the PS4, but Fanatec's own website suggests that it isn't. What leads you guys to believe that it works with the PS4?
It was compatible at the time we filmed this (nearly a year ago). Since then, Fanatec and Sony have had some 'differences' that have led to no more PlayStation support.
Here in Mexico i can buy the g29 for 4,000 pesos, that is like 200 us dollars because dollar costs 19 to 20 pesos for 1 us dollar, but i don't know if it is worth to buy a thrustmaster t300 599 evo for the 400 us dollar? what would you recommend me
Does anyone know if a brushless force feedback motor on a steering wheel is better than a brushed.
best guidance video i was looking for. But i'm confused beetween logitech g29 and logitech g920. So which should i buy?
What is wheel resolution? What is the difference between 10 bits and 16 bits? Does it have something to do with the sensitivity?
Yes, the bigger the resolution, the more accurate and sensitive the wheel or pedal is
It allows for more possible wheel positions.
