  • This is a quick setup of a standard hammock and bug net common in South America. The bug net is like a big sleeve with a zipper on the bottom to keep bugs from entering from below, and both ends are tied onto the hammock around the lines to give you a 360˚ shield against bugs.

    Many mosquitoes here in Hawaii on the wet side of the Island. Good info there if I can remember those knots!

    I just purchased a Tahoma Field Knife,and was wondering if you had a suggested lubricant for the steel, to keep it rust and patina free, in a humid climate like the one i live in? thanks, i always appreciate the high quality content on your channel, and the lessons i learn from you.

    Wouldn´t it be easier to use a hammock with integratedNet ? Or maybe its more for european litte bug and mosquitos ?

      @innerbarkoutdoors  9 лет назад +1

      area4race It absolutely would be easier, but at the time I couldn't afford a high tech hammock like a hennesy. And when in Rome, do as the Romans do (in this case, the Colombians).

      If your hammock is thin bugs can bite through the bottom

    Which hammock and mosquito net were you using? Also did you get any rain and if you did how'd the tarp work out? Thanks!

      @innerbarkoutdoors  9 лет назад

      Urban Survivalcraft It's a hammock I borrowed while I was down there, same with the net. Similar ones are all over the street markets in town. We got tons of rain on some nights. The tarp itself did very well, although I would make it 1.5 to 2 feet longer if I were to do it again.

    Nice vid. My tarp is too damn big... My plan was to use it as a tarp to cover the hammock and set up a chair under it as well.... but it's just too big.. Kelty Noah 12x12.....

      WxGuy That'd be good in the jungle as long as it's not too bulky. Gives you more dry space to stage your gear and hang out
