    Gosh, just as you said you had chills, I was feeling the same thing. He always transfers his emotions towards the song to one’s soul. He’s unbelievable. I don’t care 🤷‍♀️ if it’s short, I just play his videos when they affect me so over and over. He’s felt people leaving him during death or relationships. He was like you or I. He once said” I get depressed, I have feelings and emotions. “ His songs have always had an inate sense of loneliness when he was lonely. He felt lonely a lot of the time. He said “ I sometimes feel lonely in a crowd “. Some psychologists say it’s because he lost his twin and the more famous he became the guiltier he felt. He did speak of his twin brother Jesse so I guess it bothered him but who knows. Only he knew and sadly never wrote a memoir. I think that’s why Lisa Marie wrote one. ( Coming out October 15th, 2024) Perhaps she’ll have a bit of insight. ) May they be happy together making music. 😢❤❤❤

      I think he felt lonely bc he was alone in the way that no one on the planet knew what it was like to be him, and he was the first to break the barrier. He was the first super star known around the world. A group such as the beatles were one of the first famous groups but they all had each other and they all knew together what it was like to be in their shoes. imo

We loved everything about him, including his imperfections, that is what made him perfect. He wasn't the most famous entertainer, he was the most famous man on the planet. And he loved us. He remained kind and humble, he didn't have to try, it was just part of him. And to this day when you hear him sing, you feel it. ♥

    He is such a performer that he sells those lyrics like no body else. Got to remember he did 2 shows a night in Vegas, and pretty much didn't sleep till dawn. He was always sleep deprived and had to wind down till morning. He performed sick, ill. tired, and never let you know he was having a problem. Lisa Marie came to some of the Vegas shows and said " She would sit down front and even though she knew it was her own father, would get so excited to see him, she nearly passed out. She also said, NOBODY loved and protected her like her father. Maybe sometime you can do some early interviews with Lisa, you won't believe how much she was like Elvis. thanks great reaction, Seph.

    Seph this was 1970 in Vegas- more refined people, wore suits, ties, women in dresses. This was the largest Vegas Showroom at the ti,me 2000 seat capacity, Its not the same as a concert tour where more young adults and teens were in the audience and it got wild quick.

    • @AnnemarieSwarts
      @AnnemarieSwarts Месяц назад +2

      True! Also, as I understand it, Elvis wasn't too keen on the 8 p.m. Dinner Shows, he had to work much harder to get a reaction from the audience as they had just finished dinner, and also, some of the men, dragged to the showroom by their wives, rather wanted to be out gambling. In contrast the 12 a.m. Midnight Shows were usually more of a blast for Elvis and the audience as those in attendance really wanted to be there.

    • @Barbara-lb5yt
      @Barbara-lb5yt Месяц назад +1

      So true. The Vegas shows could only hold about 2000, but he is the only entertainer to have always sold out every seat, every showing. But the concert tours, he packed them in, depending on the venue. It could be 25,000 or 50,000. And it was crazy. It was more risky for him. Vegas was far easier for security. Way back in the 50's he did one concert in Canada, and the fans rushed the stage and he barely got away. He never went back there. Throughout his career, he had several close calls. Idk what people were thinking, I mean you can't all touch him. They would have shredded him not meaning to harm him of course, but what's crazy is he mostly needed security from fans. Mainly the women of course. I won't go into detail on "love me tender" since Seph hasn't seen it yet, i don't want to spoil it for him. But yall know what I'm talking about and what he could do in Vegas, he could never do on tour at a concert. When Seph did a reaction in vegas, he said the audience seemed subdued (paraphrasing). But vegas was much different, it was more expensive, it had booths on the front rows and more of the older crowd and elites went like you said at 8 o'clock. Can't wait until Seph sees a concert he does.

    This song was made famous by none other than England's finest female pop (imho) vocalist of the late 60s through the seventies Dusty Springfield of which Elvis was quite aware of her fame and success. Surely he heard her recording of it which was a huge success for her around the world. Don't know if you'd be interested Seth but she gives one of, if not the best rendition of this Italian origin, to give it a listen and please react to it. However Elvis as usual does an spectacular delivery. Check out Dusty's live version from your country, the 1966 version. She also did an album called Dusty in Memphis. If there was ever was a contender for female Elvis, I'd give her the nod.
    About the audience, it was a kind of a dinner affair made up of top TV and movie Star celebrities at times, kind of like a dressed down black tie affair. Elvis performed in Las Vegas at this venue for two shows a night 7 days a week for a couple years. Incredible excausting work ethic. So they were a subdued crowd. Today people confuse the visual signs as indifference but the reactions in the crowds, screams, enthusiastic applauses, dazed look in the eyes, speaks volumes. They were transfixed, mesmerized. And in those days it was a sign of respect that is misunderstood today. And it was part of a film called "That's The Way It Is" if I'm not mistaken. Those tickets were not cheap either.

I'm sorry for all the stuff I've done. Just come back to me. Ya know? You don't even have to say you love me anymore, just be there. Just be there. I know that we can fix it! We can make it better! Elvis stands out, but you should check out some others from these times. Real music, real talent, no artificial enhancement of the music.

    Talking backstage prior to his performance he was very concerned about forgetting the lyrics to this song (the little flub at 2:13 & the little smile over to the backups) but the "MASTER" just went on as if nothing happened.
    This Concho jumpsuit -- stunning & very classy. Costume designer Bill Belew explained that due to the type of lighting in Vegas at that time, white worked the best. He experimented with different colors but ultimately the best color for Elvis’ Vegas appearances was white. Elvis shared with Belew that he had a preference for blue as it was one of his favorite colors, but the stage lighting used was not favorable to any other color but white. Belew also contacted the Ice Capades to discuss the type of fabric that figure skaters used, which is known as “stretch gab or gabardine” which allowed for the skaters jumps, splits, etc. Bill believed that would be perfect for Elvis since he moved so much on stage, and he wanted a fabric that would “breathe” since Elvis would perspire a lot due to his movements & hot stage lights.

      Not this suit, but some later on, weighed 75 pounds. HIs suits were not that comfortable, they would leave marks on his body. That is why he usually wore pj's or comfy clothes at home. With today's technology, I'm sure they would have come up with an even more do-able option for Elvis. Blue sure does bring out his beautiful eyes.

      @@Barbara-lb5yt You went a bit overboard w-the weight.. It may be in the Gates of Graceland '69 video where Angie mentions jumpsuit weight (I don't recall which Gates....episode it was exactly). Elvis was not the only one to wear pj's or comfy clothes at home -- most people get comfortable when they are at home. Who wants to stay in their work or street clothes after walking in the door. And his housekeeper Nancy Rooks talks about where & how his pj's & underwear were stored & laid out in his bedroom closets. What I failed to previously say was that anything white (i.e., the If I Can Dream suit) was off-white, not pure white -- that would not work on camera under those lights.

    • @Barbara-lb5yt
      @Barbara-lb5yt Месяц назад

      @@carolhayar3037 Oops, I accidentally put in the wrong amount, I will correct it. it was 75 lbs. When Elvis first started wearing his jumpsuits in the early 70s, they are weighed 25 to 30 lbs In the later years, as they became more intricate with embroidery and jewels, some weighed about 75 pounds. They weighed his suit before and after he went on stage at one time and they were amazed at how much it weighed, after he had sweated etc. As far as pj's. Back then, most people didn't put on their pj's until they went to bed, it was a different world. If you went anywhere, you dressed in your best, if you went somewhere nice, you dressed in your finest. You didn't mention the part where they made marks on his body....they did.

    • @carolhayar3037
      @carolhayar3037 Месяц назад

      @@Barbara-lb5yt I go "way back" & i know how people dressed to go out, & what they did or didn't wear to bed, before bed, to play in the street after school, etc. To give you an idea, when I say way back, i've been watching & listening to Elvis since 1954 when i was 11. I know how the world was in the '50's -- i was in it. Maybe you can find the video where Angie at Graceland mentions the weight of Elvis' jumpsuits -- she said "50"; also a video where it is mentioned that when he tried on the very long American Eagle cape (25 lbs.) he almost fell over backwards & that's why he couldn't wear it. The point is, w-regards to Elvis, there's a world's worth of misinformation in practically every aspect of his life & his performances, i.e., the rumor started about the man w-the toupee & Elvis' non-stop laughing. There are 2 areas which seem to bug people about who's right, who's wrong -- jumpsuit weight & # of weeks from when "Unchained Melody" was filmed in '77 until he passed away. Of course it's nice to have correct info -- it should be like that for all of us in all our lives, but that ain't gonna happen. At least we have these videos now -- "back then" it was just 45's & b&w TV. Thanks.
