    THIS IS SUPERB 💎💙👌
QUADTUPLE BANGER REACTION SEPH! S RANK! TOTAL S RANK 💯
So first: The very beginning from 0:00- 0:48 seconds Elvis is wearing the Red Tab Suit or the "Chains" suit. Note the lack of silver rings on the back of the white collar.
From 0:48 seconds onwards when Elvis turns around he's wearing the Concho Suit or The Silver Rings Suit.
So the very beginning part of this video is from the August 12, 1970 Midnight Show and from 0:48 seconds onwards the performance in this video is from the August 11, 1970 Dinner Show.
I'll try to provide links in a separate comment though I will note here now the link to the August 12, Midnight Show performance of "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" is from a different camera angle and since it is the original film footage the quality is not as on par as this edited smash up video that Seph reacted to.
Moving On: The Righteous Brothers were the first to record this song but they did not write it. (Bill Medley of The Righteous Brothers was actually friends with Elvis and wrote a song in Elvis's honor after Elvis passed away called "Old Friend". I shall try to provide a link to a video where Bill Medley talks about Elvis. It's FANTASTIC!)
Song Info (short): You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" is a song by Phil Spector, Barry Mann, and Cynthia Weil, first recorded in 1964 by the American vocal duo the Righteous Brothers. This version, produced by Spector, is cited by some music critics as the ultimate expression and illustration of his Wall of Sound recording technique. The record was a critical and commercial success on its release, reaching number one in early February 1965 in both the United States and the United Kingdom. The single ranked No. 5 in Billboard's year-end Top 100 of 1965 Hot 100 hits - based on combined airplay and sales, and not including three charted weeks in December 1964 - and has entered the UK Top Ten on three occasions.
Onwards & Upwards: Concho Or Silver Rings Suit Info:
Elvis only wore this suit twice for his documentary film "That's The Way It Is"- the August 11, 1970 Dinner Show and the August 12, 1970 Dinner Show.
Elvis wore a white macrame belt with this suit.
He also wore his Gold Attendance Belt with this suit (I have to assume this was only on one occasion; though I cannot say for sure because no specific date/ dates were given). The Gold Attendance Belt was gifted to Elvis as an award for breaking concert attendance records in Las Vegas in 1969.
The only other time Elvis wore The Concho Suit was in July/ August 1971 at the Sahara Tahoe Hotel in Lake Tahoe, California.
He never wore it for either of his 1970 tours outside of Las Vegas nor did he wear it again after that Lake Tahoe concert in 1971.
@Seph: Jeff Sheff is/ was the bass player. Or is it bassist? I suppose either works. Just a quick FYI.
Finally: THIS IS THE PERFORMANCE THAT MADE ME TOTALLY FALL IN LOVE WITH ELVIS 😍💖😍💖😍💖😍💖😍💖😍💖😍💖😍💖😍💖
AND YES! YOU CAUGHT ELVIS'S "IF THIS SUIT WASN'T TOO TIGHT!" AD LIB! YAY 🙌💃🙌💃🙌💃🙌💃
DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY DO NOT CATCH THAT????
YOU'RE LIKE ONE OF MAYBE TWO THAT CAUGHT THAT.
    THIS MAKES ME SO ECSTATIC!
I feel kinda silly and ridiculous how happy this reaction has made me but whatever. I'm TOTALLY claiming the feels!
AW LAWD HAVE MERCY THE FEEL GOOD FEELS 💓🙌😍💓🙌😍
    THANKS SO MUCH SEPH!

Unfortunately one of the greatest tragedies in Rock'n Roll history is that E.P. didn't get to take this show on a world tour, during these years when he was at his absolute peak both vocally and physically. He did flub on the lyric but nobody cared. He always said, "I don't mind when the girls are screaming because it covers up my mistakes". He also wasn't kidding about the pants being too tight in fact, that's why he started with the jumpsuits because when he first opened in Vegas he was doing the pants and shirt thing, and he would split his pants so much that his designer said a jumpsuit would be easier to maneuver and take the pressure off the seat of his pants because of weight distribution. so that's why he started the jumpsuits. and at the beginning had to be convinced that they would not look silly, so they were designed fairly masculine with the plunging neckline. He had to wear bib overalls as a kid and the other children made fun of him and said he was a field hand. But that's what poor kids wore. He seldom wore genes for that reason. If you notice even in the beginning shows in the 50's he wore dress pants, not jeans. The Jeans craze was mainly made famous by Brando, in his rebel motorcycle movies.
Love watching you watch Elvis. Someone ask his cousin Billy Smith recently, who is still alive, if Elvis in his last show in 1977 did he act sick or tired, and Billy said Elvis gave 100% in every show, he was a perfectionist and always thought he owed his fans a great show. If you look at his interviews, at the end of most every interview before a concert he says, "I just hope I can give them a good show, the best show I can." thanks Seph, great reaction as always. Mary😍

    • @bjrn1
      @bjrn1 2 месяца назад +4

Bob Lanning played for Elvis only during his second Vegas season in January/February 1970, when Ronnie Tutt was unavailable due to other commitments. He can be heard on the album Elvis-On Stage. Bobby Morris was a drummer, but he did not play drums for Elvis during the first Vegas season in 1969. Instead he served as Elvis's first musical conductor. In '69 it was hard working Ronnie Tutt all the way, and he was back for the third season in August/September 1970.

Elvis's band is called The TCB Band (TCB for taking care of business... which was the Elvis's motto) They are band leader James Burton-Lead Guitar, John Wilkinson-Electric Rhythm Guitar, Glen D. Hardin-Piano, Ronnie Tutt-Drums, Jerry Scheff-Bass (also played on The Doors "L.A. Woman" album. And the guy who plays acoustic rhythm guitar, sings harmony with Elvis, gives him water, scarves and reminds him what the next song is... is Charlie Hodge. Backup vocals are The Sweet Inspirations (Cissy Houston left after August 1969), soprano- Millie Kirkham (Recorded with Elvis from 1957. Replaced by Kathy Westmoreland after the first 6 shows) and male gospel quartet The Imperials. Joe Guercio is conducting the 30 piece Joe Guercio Orchestra. So the Elvis had A LOT of talent with him on stage in the '70s 😉 FANTASTIC REACTION Seph ⚡👍🎵🎶

YES!!! Now you're really getting in to the good stuff Seph 😊 Can't wait for you to see That's The Way It Is in it's entirety. So you can see how he worked at putting his show together through weeks of rehearsals and then... the show, with show-opener "That's All Right". Remember that what you've been watching thus far, are clips from 6 different shows. Opening night August 10th with the Fringe Suit, 2 shows from August 11th, 2 from August 12th and one from August 13th (with the Red Ladder Suit), and the other suits he's been wearing in the clips that you've seen are the Concho Suit, Chain Suit and Red Ladder Suit. They filmed the first 6 shows for the movie in 1970 and spliced it all together to one "super-show". The original release from 1970 has it's flaws and might seem a little dated, but it has quite a few songs that are left out of the 2001 Special editition. Yes it's up there on top songs, what a performance absolutely top notch. I don't often recommend you watching the original if it's not the original version it's atleast the classic version also extremely good by The Righteous Brothers, a comparison would be interesting of their classic black & white video version. Very good reaction you got it all from the cracks to the knee joke and all in between.👌

Okay, I hit comment when I meant to start a new paragraph🤬 for I cannot let this moment pass without attempting to define my own thoughts regarding this song. For years, I was only aware of the Righteous Brothers rendition and I regarded it as perfect. Bill Medley provided the beautiful bass voice where he stayed while his partner, Bobby Hatfield lifted the high notes masterfully. Together, the two men induced a soulfulness that was best absorbed only while closing one’s eyes. How could it get better…right? I don’t know about everyone else but so much of Elvis Presley’s work was not known to me. Always a fan, I simply was not aware that this and other performances existed until the internet. Since then I remain obsessed. The comparison of this song from Righteous Brothers to Elvis is impossible. A piercing of my heart occurs each time I watch him and I am holding the villainous female subject of the song accountable for causing this pain. It’s Elvis that brings this cold-hearted woman to life, and I am left asking myself then why do feel such joy as I experience his grief? I only know that to feel both simultaneously makes you feel more alive! He is unworldly!
Thanks for the stupendous reaction Seph! You get it!❤️

The problem is I still get affected by him and his music. You’re right though… he feels not only the words but the music. 😢 That was his greatest gift he left us. Like we all personally knew him and fell in love with him, his music and his struggles. The drummer was Ronnie Tutt who passed sway in 2018 I believe and his bass guitarist was Jerry Scheff( not sure of spelling). The masculine form of my name❤. There’s a sessions audio out in which he all of a sudden yells “ hey Jerry” really loudly and clearly & I look up every time. One of his best friends is named Jerry also. Whenever I hear him say that name, I’m always playing it back to listen to how he says it with his accent. I thought I was nuts until another channel whose owner is called Michelle heard him saying her name got so excited & I felt better. 😂😂😂🎸🕺🏻🎸🕺🏻🔥🔥🔥Thank you so much for remaining with Elvis and enjoying it so. ❤❤

I do try to be a genuine person.
I give some of that credit to my Dad who instilled in me the idea that I was an ambassador of sorts, representing all that had a hand in my upbringing. That stuck because I'm protective of the ones I love and I don't want anyone to think poorly of them because of something I said or I did.
So I am not just representing myself here.
I represent a whole bunch of people, and I include Elvis one of them and too the Elvis fan community.
I am aware you know that one is not just representing one's self. But they are also representing the people that raised them and the community they are part of and the people that they love.
I say this with humility and modesty and gratitude and respect and love.
I do not go at Seph for expressing his honest opinion, at first because I wanted to represent Elvis and his fan base in the best light possible.
Then over time because I saw the true value of his honesty. I respect him all the more for being honest.
As you said too many are performative today and Seph is one of the few that is not.
His honesty is both refreshing and a delight.
And now I will share something else: I have Reynaud's Phenomenon. A circulatory thing that causes my veins to constrict when exposed to cold. I get cold easily, I'm sensitive to cold.
Anyway my grandmother used to warm my hands for me when I was little and she would always say, "Cold hands, warm heart."
