@@Reggiebphoto Like it's good to see what settings you use but as someone who doesn't know what most of them actually do, I'm just as lost as I was before the video
The image settings that you change in the camera only apply to the jpegs. The RAW file is always going to come out the same not matter how "flat" you try to set it up.
The histogram and highlight warning is based on the image settings. I’ve experimented that pro negative standard with -2 highlights and 0 shadows allows me to have the highlight warning be at the same point of clipping for my raw file in Lightroom. The 0 shadows allows me to to not introduce unneeded underexposure. I’m very aware that image settings don’t affect the raws. But the in camera metering and exposure guides ARE based on the jpeg settings unfortunately. So with experimentation you can calibrate the shadow clipping and highlight clipping you are comfortable with in the raw processor of to choice and apply the appropriate image setting that reflects these thresholds. Let me know if this makes sense
To further illustrate, Let’s say you have highlight warnings on. Let’s imagine With classic chrome (high contrast look) the highlights blink at 1/500s. On eterna (low contrast look) the highlights blink at 1/250s. But when you important the raw into Lightroom, you find that true highlight clipping happens at 1/400s. I’ve calibrated my highlight and shadow image settings so that when using pro neg std, the highlight warning blinks at shutter speeds less than 1/400s, and stops blinking above 1/400s. This is a calibrated and calculated image quality setting that’s aligned with the clipping points of raw files in Lightroom.

Hi Reggie, this video setup of your settings is great, thanks. Can you explain how you set your ISO set to C and SS to T to gain full control of these via front and rear dials @19:45. What is your ISO, SS and A set at when you are twisting your dials to achieve full control? Thanks
It depends on the lighting. Usually window light in my home is a good time to use the warm. But when the indoor lights are turned on in my home, the cooler base version works better. In general classic chrome is cool temp. So the warm is just for when I think it’s too cool and want to warm up skin tones
just the jpeg. on the raw, if you apply an aspect other than 3:2, it will import with the crop applied, but if you reset the crop in your raw editor it will revert back to the oringal 3:2 at the original resolution
Hey quick question? Why is it when i put my auto iso setting i will put min iso 100 max iso 3200 and min ss 200 and when i go to shoot my iso always stay at 3200 and my shutter speed dropes below 200?
ISO going to max AND shutterspeed dropping below is because there is not enough light to shoot at 1/200 s. The camera will go slower than your desired shutterspeed. It's best to set max ISO to the highest value. The camera won't go there necessarily but it can help keep the SS fast enough. Pal2Tec has a really good video explaining Auto ISO on Fujifilm cameras: ruclips.net/video/1eE1qAXntrg/видео.html
These are really helpful, but I think there is a setting that's preventing me from being able to use my off-camera flash and hot shoe. Do you have any advice on which settings?

One thing missing on the 100V is the viewfinder button!! I choose to set the Function 1 button to View Mode. At times, I like to have the option of operating my camera using only the eye sensor/viewfinder only option. This prevents the back of my camera from lighting up (to be more discrete in a performance for instance). Also, for this type of operation it is important to set Image Display to OFF! This way, I can always hit playback at my discretion for a quick look of my last image as needed.

This is a calibrated and calculated image quality setting that’s aligned with the clipping points of raw files in Lightroom.

hey reggie!! I set my shutter speed to T and upon using the command dial it doesn't let me adjust however the back dial works fine. any suggestion??
if you hold down the command dial it opens up a menu to customize what the front and rear command dial does.
@@Reggiebphoto my apologies I set it up wrong. Got it!! Thanks buddy
No worries
When you do "Small 3:2" and have an output of Fine + Raw, does it make the Raw file "Small 3:2" as well? Or does that only apply to the JPEG?
just the jpeg. on the raw, if you apply an aspect other than 3:2, it will import with the crop applied, but if you reset the crop in your raw editor it will revert back to the oringal 3:2 at the original resolution
@@Reggiebphoto Thank you so much man! That makes so much sense. Subbed. Cheers!!
Thanks for the sub!
Genious !!!

What’s the difference between DOF scale pixel and film?
Fiky Adjidarmo to be quite honest I don’t know haha.
DOF scale pixel is allegedly more accurate if you want the max sharpness. According to the manual.
@@dentontay why even have the option at all
Who knows
Bad ass!
Hey quick question? Why is it when i put my auto iso setting i will put min iso 100 max iso 3200 and min ss 200 and when i go to shoot my iso always stay at 3200 and my shutter speed dropes below 200?
Isaac Ramirez fujis auto iso is known to be unreliable. I personally shoot in manual
@@Reggiebphoto yep
Very well done. Could go a wee bit slower, but very helpful info
Appreciate the feedback! Will try to slow the pace down on the next goaround. At least you can rewatch and pause :)
These are really helpful, but I think there is a setting that's preventing me from being able to use my off-camera flash and hot shoe. Do you have any advice on which settings?
Can’t download settings
Reggie, great video, very informative! Question: Why on earth can’t I get the ISO below 640 when I shoot video in FLOG?? HELP!!!!!
Flogs native iso is 640. You cant go below 640
Extremely useful guide to your X100v settings. Only thing I’m not sure about on the camera is HDR. Is it on by default or off by default? And what about the HDR presets - how do they work? Thanks.
Yeah but but, where is the on/off button?
It’s a switch at the top
I wonder how a photographer can pay rent and eat in the bay area. .. maybe that is why you gotta make youtube videos. ! thanks for informative video.
You have to charge enough and give clients enough value to backup that price
Very helpful and alway enjoy your enthusiasm! Don't understand why music is added in the background. I find it very distracting from your message, jmho.
pat keen nonpartiuclsr reason. Just trying something new. In my long videos I like to put a sound track
cannot set time in changing PM/AM, usability sucks.
What is your favorite FN button setting that you CANNOT live without?
One thing missing on the 100V is the viewfinder button!! I choose to set the Function 1 button to View Mode. At times, I like to have the option of operating my camera using only the eye sensor/viewfinder only option. This prevents the back of my camera from lighting up (to be more discrete in a performance for instance). Also, for this type of operation it is important to set Image Display to OFF! This way, I can always hit playback at my discretion for a quick look of my last image as needed.
Ah great point!
ND filter on/off !! LOVE that filter
Just came here to say Hi, we have the same last name which is uncommon for me
hello!
Teletebby eyes
What do my eyes have to do with a camera?
Thanks for making this video! I’m new to using Fuji so I’m struggling a bit. So here is the thing, I don’t like when I’m shorting and then the lcd screen is on again but if I use jut”use viewfinder” then I can’t see the menu on the lcd screen and just in the viewfinder. I don’t know what to do of if there is an option for what I want to. I’ve always used nikon 🥹
image size small 3.2? What the`???? You have an X100V`!!!!!!! Use your phone...................
I shoot in raw, and edit and export that file for high res use. The small jpeg is just for social media.
