Tips for Traveling from Florence to Pisa

- Ciao! My name is Kian Nemzer and I am currently studying abroad in Florence Italy. I live on the Big Island of Hawaii when I am not adventuring to new places and making videos like this. I wanted to create this video as a way to answer some questions and give advice that I wish I knew when I first came to Europe to study in the Fall of 2021. In this video, I explain how to purchase train tickets and bus tickets as well as general advice to make your trips as smooth as possible. I also go into greater depth explaining the process of traveling from Florence, Italy to Pisa, Italy including walking to the train station, how to find your platform, and where to purchase bus tickets upon arrival in Pisa (if needed). I thought this would be a great first trip for anyone in Florence who is unfamiliar with traveling in this style.

Hey thanks bro I appreciate it! and yea I understand that haha, no harm in starting to dream big and thinking about where you WILL go once you have the opportunities
you can walk from the Pisa train station to the leaning tower. About 25mins. Cross the Arno river.
Thanks, thats good info for people to know!
Great info bro. Very helpful. With the train app though, if ur travelling from overseas (I'm from Sydney and am planning travelling soon), and u use an o/s visa for example, the bank charges hefty foreign currency conversion fees along with the worst exchange rate ever in the banks favour; so is it easy to use cash 💸 at a ticket machine or ticket booth?
Also what's travelling like in Italy now regarding Covid-19. Any restrictions and what do u need to enter into the country? Vax certificate, negative Covid-19 test (psr or rat)? Or have they gotten rid of all that now lad?
Thanks brother. Have an awesome time on ur travels......
Happy to help! And yes you bring up a good point. I am not familiar with credit/debit cards in Australia, but before travel I did research to find a card that had no foreign transaction fees so I could avoid that problem. Yes there are ticket booths and places it is easy to purchase in person, but the only issue that you may run into is that trains could book up. It really depends where your going though. Its a case by case thing, but going on long distance trains through Italy I always tried to book at least a week in advance if not more. I'm sure you can go to the train stations to deal with this, I just don't have personal experience.
Currently all around Europe covid-19 restrictions have become incredibly relaxed, at least compared to what they have been. I haven't even needed to wear a mask on planes flying to some countries. For Italy specific information you can go to the official government website to see what is required when coming from Australia, because each country is different. Vax certificate is always a good idea to have although some places don't require it anymore. As for Neg. covid test I don't think you will be needing that but its always I good idea to check.
Thanks for the nice comment and enjoy your trip! (My travels have been great and I'm heading home tomorrow)
@@BeinKian thanks for all this super info brother. God bless you 😇 and am glad u had a nice trip. Hope u got home safe 🙏

Hi, I'm going to Florence soon and is going to buy 10 bundle tickets for busses, it is called Urbano capoluogo carnet. Do you know how to validate them in a bus?
When I used the busses in florence I purchased my tickets through the online app that I mention in the video at 5:13 and I would just activate the ticket through my phone once I got on the bus. If you are talking about physical tickets I would assume the machine would be as you walk onto the bus, but because I was just using my phone I wasn't looking for this. I hope you enjoy florence!
Hi I downloaded Trainline and purchased tickets also. Question: do these tickets need to be scanned/validated before boarding the trains? I heard that some trains need validating prior.
Hi! Yes, often there will be a few people in uniforms who will scan your tickets prior to getting on the train. They may also scan the ticket while you're on the train. I have experienced both in different places. Enjoy your trip!
@@BeinKian awesome thanks so much for the tips! We are traveling there for the first time next month 🙂
