Climbing the tower in Pisa is a must! it's such a cool experience to do

We went 20 years ago before social media blew up. The Tower was anchored down by a cable at the time. It was very easy to enjoy the grounds, take pictures and just hang out. I am greatful to have seen Pisa back then... I am so taken back by the amount of people... but I cannot blame them for wanting to see such a beautiful iconc place. Love what you do! Keep up the great work... Italy is magical 🤍

Thank you so much! And yes, it would have been magical to see the area without crowds of people 🙈

Love it. Stayed overnight at the end of a tour around central Italy. Visit the square around 5:30am in late spring, and you'll have the place all to yourself (ex the carabinieri on duty) for 30 minutes. The late night views are also great, with no crowds. There is also the option to walk the walls surrounding part of the square.

Just on the opposite side of the river from the cafe you were in is Palazzo Blu which is a great gallery and exhibition space. Well worth a visit.
I really love the city and don’t find it too busy beyond the tower area. I like the fact it’s smaller and easy to walk around.

I was debating on whether to go to Pisa on my next trip to Tuscany due to the crowds around. I guess that is just something we all have to deal with when traveling to well known places. Perhaps we will make a quick trip to admire the beauty and architecture, while walking through spots not known to most visitors.
    Thanks for the video!❤

Thank you! I would recommend to come see the tower of course, but maybe just don't plan the entire trip to Pisa around it, as there are many other beautiful corners, too!

I haven’t been to Pisa yet, but it is still in my list. As in many other ocassions I will try to go out of season, but in my opinion classic places shouldn’t be avoided because there’s usually a reason for them to be classic. Unfortunately many people are frequently ignorant of real history so they can’t discern between facts and tourists traps and legends (v.g. Juliet’s balcony in Verona). And if you are wise enough, after the obvious you can go on and search for the real, less famous and secret places, wich are the real joy.

Why do they keep people off the grass by the tower? In Paris it is so fun for us to sit on the grass near their tower with a bottle and pastries, and talk to other tourists. Oh well.

That cafe, l'Ussero, was an important meeting point for illustrious poets writers and artists in 18th and 19th century....Leopardi Foscolo Mazzei Paganini Alfieri Byron Shelley ....apropos of Shelley, you should visit the tiny hamlet of Montefoscoli where lived an important family of landowners and surgeons (Vaccà Berlinghieri) who are deemed by some as being inspirers for Mary Shelley and her Frankenstein novel, you'll also find an amazing temple marked by some esoteric nuance and a museum with all the tools used for surgery at the time....

I think most people go through the periods in their life when they feel like dropping out or giving up on whatever they're doing, and that's normal. What's important is to get out of this period and how you do it ❤️

@@DramaticallyExpatic When I took my family to Venice, in 2007, we stayed in an apartment in the Arsinale neighbourhood. No tourists and we felt that we were experiencing a true Venetian immersion. But of course, we also wanted to see some of the city's attractions. We were there for three days but I think one full day would have been enough. Cheers!

You don't necessarily have to climb up the tower; you can visit the square and the cathedral for free, so it could be a good option if you don't want to spend extra money and waiting in line for too long.
