That would involve a stand alone CPU, and an intake w/ filter and exhaust. It was probably easier for the manufacturer to make it this way. Although I do agree with you. You could also attach a drill to it possibly.
What's more impressive than your ever so delicate mechanic skills, is your video editing for every single piece. Man, i'd go crazy with all of that. Good stuff!
Am I the only one who watches this video for ASMR purposes. Only a few minutes into the video I get very relaxed and sleepy and want to take a good nap in a very positive way!
Love your videos: not too short, not too long, high resolution, glad they have no cheesy music, only natural mechanical sounds .. I can't afford such an expensive kit, watching you assemble it is the next best thing .. thanks for sharing the experience 😎
This looks like so much fun to assemble that I ordered the kit. As I will be later building the DOHC, V8, flat plane crank LT6 motor for my 2023 Z06 (the assembly plant’s “engine build” option), this will be great prep. Thanks.
@D so you’re interested in semi trucks and diesels but hate cars because they destroy the environment? Where do you live where you don’t need a car and how are you so ignorant coming from your type of childhood.
Thank You for not wearing gloves....the last one of these kits I seen being put together, you would have thought the guy was using tons of grease and harsh chemicals. The whole kit is as clean as a hospital. You did a great job!!!
WOW, I ordered mine Monday, received Thursday. Some of the plastic trays were busted up, no big deal. Mine was missing the 3 little bottles of oil. Have not contacted them yet. Thanks for this video!!
Would be awesome if the motor actually produced horsepower. I would put it on one of those 32 Ford roadster pedal cars. There would be a lot of fabrication to do but that would be the fun part. I would have to find a transmission to hook up to it. I bet it would be awesome to build it would be a challenge but worth it.
Are the intake and exhaust both ported to the outside of the heads? What engine is this based on? How would you plumb in a throttle body or carburetor?
Intake is above the valley - 14:11 I think each exhaust valve has it’s own exhaust pipe though. It’s an odd design. It doesn’t look 90 degrees either. Still pretty cool!
Huh. Didn’t think I’d watch the whole thing. Well done video, learned a lot, considering I don’t work on engines. Only constructive comment would be, after installing the valve cams, around 6m40s, it would be cool to see an under side view of the valves while you rotated the cams. Similar to the view you did of the pistons while rotating the crank shaft in the beginning. Cheers.
Yeah I don't know about that. And maybe this is just me, but to me $700 is a lot of money. And if I was to drop $700 on a motor I would atleast want more for my money!! Like bearing seals/gaskets,fuel injectors etc...for a motor that does not run I would rather drop another $700 on top of that and receive a rebuild motor and be able to crank and run said motor instead of a expensive yet fancy desk paper weight. Is it cool? I think so! But a rip off to pay $700 for that "art" But I'm sure there's people out there that don't mind spending/wasting $700 on something like this
Sorry, but for that kind of money I expected better finish on mating surfaces like main bearings, cams and big end bearings. It looks like it`s straight from mold into package. Sound of metal to metal grinding is horrible.
This video and device are very good teaching tools for understanding some mechanical concepts of engines. Some missing things/parts, but when you take apart one of your real engines, you can start to see how things work. I see this as a teaching tool.
A guy with this elaborate complex complicated assembly kit can easily assemble this without even reading the instructions by simply watching this video.
Personally I can think of a lot better thing(s) to spend $700.00 on and this is not it. This model v8 would be useful for classroom . Other than that it is a waste of money.
hell nah, if someone has a passion on engines (me too) and wants to build a realistic model of an engine is not a “waste of money”. if you like something, that will never be a waste of money.
@@kotascalemodel hi , I buy a plastic version before the metal one ,, I think a model like Tamiya....I receive an horrible plastic cake in one part and no détail at all....so I go away of chinese product....sorry
I recommend putting the heads on before the cam shafts go on as putting them on after is a real pain. Getting access to the two screw holes in the middle of the block is a nightmare.
It is sold at "Engine DIY"

I was expecting a model works with fuel :v very disappointing
Yes
Next time they do an electric engine moved by diesel sure....
Same here
That would involve a stand alone CPU, and an intake w/ filter and exhaust. It was probably easier for the manufacturer to make it this way. Although I do agree with you. You could also attach a drill to it possibly.
But oil and coolant would be needed for all of that too
What's more impressive than your ever so delicate mechanic skills, is your video editing for every single piece. Man, i'd go crazy with all of that. Good stuff!
The assembly was so realistic that I thought that the combustion engine would rather fire up with gas..
Excellent review bro 👍
Me too, disappointed that it didn't tho.
One look at those castings and the metal used, and you know it can never fire. It would simply break. Brittle metal.
@@janklas7079 There would not even be any sort of compression
@@StaticVapour590 Yeah. Big ol' holes in the cylinders is a huge clue that it's just a model.
@@StaticVapour590 yes, there aren't any piston rings and the block is exposed to exterior debris, no oil also
Wanta really impress me make it a real internal combustion engine that doesn't need an electric motor to revolve
Even real engine need electric motor starter for cranking. 😔
you don't think they make engines that small ?

The combustion engine truly is a marvel in human engineering. Great vid

There is something about the way it all carefully comes together that is satisfyingly well worth watching until the end !!
As a former videographer I appreciate what it took to make this video. Also, as an introvert I appreciate no taking and just showing.
This kit itself is a work of art! You don't even need to assemble.

Idk, I'd like to see more parts for the price. More parts = more time to assemble = more fun. $700 for one-night assemble is too expensive.
