Incredible demonstration of 2-stroke single-piston combustion motor. The builder is incredible. He built a combustion chamber out of transparent plexiglass and made it work. It is amazing how fast the piston is moving inside the transparent cylinder. I have a greater appreciation of combustion engines and how it has to work to generate power and torque.

@@andylewis7360 No one gets what he is trying to do. He is doing too many things at once, has too many projects going on at once and tries to reinvent EVERYTHING from scratch. I watched a channel on RUclips here where a couple guys from the USA made a plastic piston to try it in a old Polaris 4 wheeler that they did accomplish doing & they had a person driving it around on a airport road for quite some time just running the heck out of it until it finally died . What amazed me the most was how long it actually lasted before the piston started to melt down and loosing compression and shutting down. Can't remember the name of the channel but if you look on RUclips you should be able to find it . From watching it this model Polaris ATV 4 wheeler looked very similar to my 90s Polaris 350L liquid cooled 350 2 stroke that I had for a number of years to mainly use it for work duties on my property until I ended up selling it being it was in need of doing a full top end rebuild and decided to sell it and get a 4 stroke model but ended up buying a 49 Farmall C tractor with a hitch to haul wood on my trailer and it has a Woods 6 foot belly mower on it to mow my property with instead of using my Sears rider with a 42 inch deck to do it all & by buying the Farmall C tractor it literally shaved off 3 hours of mowing time & it's more comfortable to boot. Some of the parts for the Sears which is a 90s model are getting hard to find because nobody is making all of the parts for it now but for this old Farmall C tractor I can get everything I need for it still either new or good used parts & for the 10 years I've owned it its been stone reliable other than oil and filter changes each spring & 1 6 volt battery just this spring and a coolant flush & that's been it other than I changed the gear oil for the transmission & differential which takes 5 gallons of gear oil and did it just because i didn't know when the last time it had been changed & figured i might as well just do it. The Sears gets used up close by the house in the areas I can't get in with the Farmall which helps on wear and tear on it so I'm hoping to get a few more years out of it before it's ready for the scrap pile because this Sears is made like everything now where it gets used then eventually breaks down and parts aren't available for it because we have a throw away society now unfortunately and the new small tractors are cheap junk as well but way overpriced.
Glass at that thickness would be plenty strong enough. It's the heat cycling that would be an issue. Cool, don't you love it when it comes out how you designed it to do. That slow motion footage of the combustion process is neat. Is that acrylic you used for the combustion chamber and head? Isn't that the only transparent material tough enough to take the pressure and heat? It looked like the aluminum piston had melted there for a second but it was just the acrylic melting some or scratching and the exhaust port that made it look that way. Great video and a great vintage bike to modify like that 👍
If there were water galleries with a high reservoir, there would be circulation by boiling 100º!, and leaving the carburetor at the level!! lol very good man!!
Using a basic tempered glass sleeve that you make have vertical and horizontal grooves in it will allow for it to survive the heat issues for longer, especially if you can cool around it with clear fluid. I think the horizontal might be perfect for a pump that you have for holes around those areas, that go with the piston movement. You would be able to pump fluid to the sides and use basic air cooling with some glass fins. You would need to make it thick enough, the sleeve, but also have it have something of a curve or bend to stick into the head and a bottom separate part to be able to have it stay put. So you could have cooling, a less expanding and higher friction clear part, it will heavily rely on the tempered glass thickness and the sizing of all the grooves. It would last much longer and maybe even be a viable 2 stroke engine.

this has got to be the coolest video i've seen on youtube
Borosilicate glass.
Świetna robota!! Fajnie było to zobaczyć 😀
Richtig geil. :D
No to teraz łożyska i kartery 😂
Muito didático, parabéns!
Pity we can’t make fully transparent politicians, that really would be something.
Or with a shorter duty-cycle, like this engine.
teraz kartery przezroczyste
Thxz for all your work, that was cool, engines turn lots faster than people know.
