I am the first one. There's no grind left for me to worry about. I ain't fan of modern vehicles so every post ww1 and ww2 era vehicles is all i need to enjoy this game.
I'd actually say that moving it up is warranted, it s basically a larger wiesel without thermals and recon. Somewhere in the 6.0 range would probably be fine, and the BTR-ZD and that new South African technical should join it there.
All of the cold war SPAA sitting below 7.0 need to go way up. Gaijin needs to give 37/40mm SPAA some kind of real-time fuzing based on the gunner and loader skills/health or something. M42 and Ostwind II should be good but are basically useless for killing planes. Ground RB should give SPAA the ability to spot planes, and when they spot a plane, they can target it, which wont give them the same detail as Air RB, but just a regularly updated distance estimate that is automatically applied to the fuzed HE shells. It doesn't even need to be a good estimate, just anything better than having to try and hit the rangefinding button while lining your crosshair up with 5 pixels every few seconds.
Honestly as someone who hasn't played in years it seems absolutely bizarre to see these modern vehicles go against mid ww2 vehicles. I could somewhat understand post-war/early cold-war stuff but this seems way out of the timespace.
Gaijin relies entirely on player skill for balance, so because noob crutch vehicles like this and the R3 get played so poorly, Gaijin puts them at absurd BR so that they still reach some stupid "stat quota". Same reason the same vehicles can appear in two nations trees and have different BR even though they are functionally identical. One vehicle is just being played better than the other. Also doesn't help that they insist that SPAA should be able to do literally anything other than kill aircraft effectively. No, Gaijin doesn't need to balance SPAA to be able to fight tanks, they are SPAA.
This is just the R3 itallian at 5.0 but at 5.3 It has no radar and should not be increased in BR You have to understand, minor nations need vehicles and many of the ones they made in ww2 were so trash they need something better. Italy has the R3 and thank god Japan has this now because before their SPAA went from freaking 4.3-8.0 and I did not want to use that garbage 4.3 SPAA in my 6.7 lineup Also the R3 was at 3.7 when it was introduced and was increased all the way to 5.0 which I think is a fine place for it to sit.

Honestly, I'm surprised with how well they modernized the game. Some changes, like the smoke change, are unnecessary, but I'm enjoying the direction the game is going. Ucavs were huge mistake though.

I’m mostly just shocked they actually added hit directions to the game lol. We’ve needed that for a really really long time and I thought they were just never going to do it. War thunders sound design being as rough as it is this is definitely a good addition.
20mm APDS at 5.3, ridiculous. Ingame, APDS gets some pretty F'ed angle pen. The 20mm APDS can penetrate the T-50's Front, A 20mm. The 37mm APCR on the zsu-37 cannot. It weight 6 times more.
All I see is everyone complaining about these cold war era tanks especially the R3 yet with even a slight bit of research you can easily find that it uses a WW2 armament that where good enough to be put onto cold war era SPAA. If you want to do some research on the R3 and the autocannon that it runs is the 20MM Oerlikon KAD.
*sigh* absurdly overpowered cold war spaa that will obliterate ww2 props that have basically zero chance of outmaneuvering such a high velocity, high fire rate autocannon. Just another toxic cancer like the R3. Instead of just making ww2 spaa useable by compensating for the fact that all of those systems had a dedicated loader for applying the fuze distance in real time with the target, they are making SPAA require basically zero lead ability or patience. Twin 37mm and 40mm SPAA vehicles at 4.7-6.0 should be enough, but they are all mostly unusable for killing planes because of the lack of reasonable fuzing and until recently they couldn't even fire alternatingly which made the fire density atrocious.
@@XSpamDragonX I'm don't disagree, but at the same time, most vehicles past around 5.3ish are cold war vehicles anyways. The problem is balancing CAS, who are always several generations behind their ground counterparts because even a base IL-2 taken into ground RB at 6.0 is still dangerous.

I've spent several weeks researching Leo A1A1 without premium just to start reseraching 1A5 because it's better in each aspect and is only 0.3 BR higher.

@Commander Kei 7.0 has jets and neither of them have any tracking radar. Don't be butthurt because you don't know how to use a coaxial machine gun on the ground or think that spaa is useless so you can attack them head on at any time with a plane.

I really think hull break needs to come back, just set a pressure limit for an explosion before the vehicle just crumples, and make it so that if a small armoured car takes a 120mm APDS round through the frame, it also should crumple.

Sometimes you get a "bug" where all the shots teleport absorb into objects like machinegun, radio, or turret ring. It's pretty fucking disastrous and not even burst makes it go away.
In my opinion, this game lost its climate. At present its so similar to wot. They mixed many different vehicles at one battlefield. Pure science-fiction. Time to back to kerbals and space engineers.

In my opinion, this game lost its climate. At present its so similar to wot. They mixed many different vehicles at one battlefield. Pure science-fiction. Time to back to kerbals and space engineers.

The R3 would be better unnerfed with APDS, full stab back, and scout function at a high br. I would play it more than I already do in forced up tiers to escape snail purgatory. Forcing these future things down and nerfing them later doesn't make them better, just ruins lower BRs and the eras they had long ago.
@Lector-Dogmatix Sicarii the R3 uses a WW2-era gun, it was just good enough to keep being used in the cold war.
Same with the American .50cal bmg; the only improvement was the construction of the ammo.

@Sarge Sacker25 Go to the forums and make a complaint about it then. No point in doing it on RUclips. If you genuinely want a ww2 only game mode, then try to stir up a movement for it. I, for one, am tired of people trying to make realistic mode something it's not. Sim mode, however, is fair game.
