The let him pay thing is actually a really good point! If a guy is offering to pay that is a very good sign he's into you. If you don't see him like that then reject it politely of course.

Love these tips! I don't think it's wrong per say for a woman to ask a man out, but I think it's smart to leave that job up to a man to take on that pursuer role that men are meant to inhabit.
As a result, since I expect the man to ask, it makes sense for the man to pay on a first date, and it's definitely attractive when a man steps up in that way. But I'll always offer to pay my portion, because I think it's the right thing to do.

If you don't drop hints at work to have a successful working relationship with coworkers, why in Baby Jesus' name would you do the same thing with someone you're trying to have a romantic relationship?
Stop with the hints. You don't do that with coworkers; don't do it with people you're trying to snog.
Just ask him out, or directly tell him to ask you out.
It feels as if many Christian women ignore the social costs of failure when a man is labeled a creep for misinterpreting a language that was never taught to us, nor inherent in our nature (if that is even the case). Word will travel because understandable a church community is trying to protect its own tribe from danger, and danger includes "creeps."
The point regarding offering to join in on someone else's activity or investigatory questions about what someone is interested are GREAT. Do More of that if you're afraid of directly asking someone out.

Preferably the man would do it, however i don't think there's nothing inherently wrong with the woman doing it, a lot of times us men can not notice when a good woman is in front of us, especially these days when work consumes us more than ever

While that's true(and as someone who's 28 and is really bad about getting stuck in my own head, I'm particularly bad at this and it's a big part of why I haven't asked anybody out), I think a lot of it is also that we don't want to come off as creepy if we read the girl wrong. This is especially true for those of who are more traditional and want to build a platonic relationship before doing so.

If a woman is at the point of wondering if a man likes her - he likes her. He's wondering the same thing, but women are diverse and complex creators. Games and subtle hints do not help... *Obvious* hints open the door for easy interpretation, and make it easier for him to confidently act.

Yeah just recently I've showed a little interest in someone that I know really well I gave some suggestions out in a hinting way It didn't work out she was saying that I don't see you that way I see you as a brother so that concept is the same as being put in the friend zone which I can definitely tell you in my opinion for guys that is the biggest put-off for men and that being said what you sew is what you Reap that will come back around on those ladys that do that and then they wonder why that is so putting off nobody like being put in the friend zone!. I like it when ladys that show interest and make the first move taking a little risk and giving a guy a chance to shine

      @otto.joshua Месяц назад +2

It’s the biggest put off being put in the friend zone/being called a brother? Nothing to be put off by, they’re politely telling you they have no interest in dating you. You make it sound like they’re playfully teasing and secretly want to date you. To be clear, they’re telling you there is no chance you will ever date them. Take that on the chin and move on, clearly that’s not God’s plan for you, there are greater things ahead 💪

I think whichever one has an interest should. I'm really bad about getting stuck in my own head and overthinking things which is a big part of why I haven't asked girls out. Plus I think there are a lot of social minefields that as guys, we're trying to avoid like being labeled a creep, if we're up front with a girl and it turns out we misread friendliness as flirting. It's better if both sides of the equation stop playing games and expecting the other to read between the lines.

@@be_salt Being willing to get out of my comfort zone is admittedly something I need to do better with, if I actually want to get anywhere. Even at 28 and how difficult it is to find someone with similar values, I know she'll come into my life if/when she's supposed to but still, she'll pass me by if I find it difficult to actually be open. And then, add on the fact, I'm very traditional and so want to build friendship before moving on from there and it can get even tougher.

It’s not that we’re shy as men. I’ve made a good amount of cold approaches based on what I thought were obvious signs, some have worked out fine and led up to a date but for the most part the women are just friendly. Other times I get no engagement from the lady and turns out she’s really into me. So it’s hard to gauge how they’ll react, just gotta shoot your shot.

Online I don’t think it matters. IRL I prefer the man ask me but bravo to girls brave enough to ask themselves. I think it is wise though to drop hints so they can guess that you like them as this way when they do ask they feel quite confident of getting a yes and therefore more likely to ask.

I think it would be beneficial to women if they could improve their communication of desire in a way men are able to perceive a la, drop the hanky. Heck, here in 2024, it wouldnt be a bad idea for a woman to ask the man out. Either way, if both people are able to be honest about their feelings, they should ask the other out regardless..

The woman should ask the man out. Modern women come with bad habbits, trauma from previous boyfriends and too much attention due to social media and dating apps have given them a false sense of worth, ego and superiority.

Many modern women do assume they have value to a man just because they are female, but don't understand the things we as men value, so I agree. The question is never asked: Are you worthy of being approached???? Ruth understood this which is why she did the approaching and proposing of Boaz
